A MODEL DAY OUT on the S & D
มุมมอง 29K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Surviving cuts, the Somerset & Dorset Railway operates dmus for passenger travel and enjoyment. This fiction is possible in model form thanks to kind owners, their friends, and, largely, Bruce Piggotts' wonderful camtruck.

This famous nursery rhyme really happened! There is a well - and it's at the top of a steep hill in Somerset.
Bath Green Park Station cab view

This is an encouraging beginning for a Project which finds - to my surprise - that the Somerset & Dorset Railway has miraculously survived closure, and is operating (fairly!) modern traction. A Day Out courtesy of models is envisaged - this one courtesy of Taunton Model Railway Group's award-winning layout, and Bruce Piggott's marvellous OO gauge camtruck.
Bath Green Park Station model by TMRG

Short extract from runs over Bath Green Park and Tamerig layouts courtesy of Taunton Model Railway Group and the brilliant Camtruck made by Bruce Piggott (Branor Systems). The intention is to compile a complete journey over a Somerset & Dorset Railway which miraculously survived closure, involving as many S&DJR models as can be found, visiting a church, a chippy along the way for lunch - and a ...

Costa Concordia - Not Going Quietly
มุมมอง 22K12 ปีที่แล้ว
The video was shown to members of Mid-Wilts Video Society in August 2011 i.e. prior to the accident, to illustrate - in a Presentation on "Sound" - that there are some sounds you really can't ignore! We did think it seemed OTT, and indeed that was the reaction at the time, but there has been comment that saying farewell and greeting others is normal. Any more views? Was the ship "showing off" t...

Happy birthday 🎂 Costa Concordia
Costa Concordia -not going quietly
nice bells
Costa Concordia: * Showing off cool horn * Car: Show off.. Costa Concordia: What’s that now? Car: BEEP BEEP BEEP Costa Concordia: Ah, so you’ve chosen death. * INTENSE HORN BATTLE *
Lovely mixture of filming and stock . Cracking layouts!
Really enjoyed the video, apart from the worst rendition of "Ghost Riders in the Sky" I've ever heard. You could see my old gaff on the run back into Green Park Station too! Ta.
marvelous.
I mean 2012
I also went to Costa Concordia last 2013
That wasn't very fair having that West Country push that 4F over Maesbury Summit as well as pulling all those coaches.
I can't even begin to imagine how popular the S&D would be today, had it survived the Beeching cuts.
😢
What a brilliant layout
Great job on this!!!
wow if only
Very nice and well put together video
Wonderful idea and very well put together! Loved it. I like the Yard Lamps are they proprietary or Club made? All very enjoyable. Best wishes.
Era così bella 🥺
Nice video of the club layout mate, the scene around the junction has changed now as Tamerig the layout adjoined to Bath has now been demolished to make way for a new layout. Bath now has its own return loops and is a separate entity to the new layout. Great video. Cheers, Ross.
Better horn than harmony of the seas we will miss you concordia
I agree...
"we will miss you concordia" By the time you commented this, it had been 7 years after Concordia sank.
Nice city
Trowbridg is a shit hole also known as little Poland this is not trowbridg as we know it show the real side council estates run down shopping canter a d fat ugly people sorry trowbridg but it's true
She was the Queen of the Italian Sea!!!!! ;(
Shayra She was a bloated, obese parody of marine sailing, designed for maximum profit only, manned and captained by matching incompetence.
@@maxwellfan55 true but I admit she had nice horns!
Real
no mention of the people who died?
4:14 poor car xD
Wat a beautiful ship !!! is so sad..... beautiful concordia.....
Rip Costa Concordia who sank
R.I.P. costa concordia.
Can we take “showboating “ in its most literal sense of the word here?!
What gauge is this layout? I am assuming either "O" or "G".
OO gauge, Roland - thanks to Bruce Piggott's' cam truck ("Branor Systems"),
Amazing - many thanks for your reply.
My pleasure! Philip
I liked the model of Evercreech Junction the best. Thanks for posting.
Many thanks for your comment. I was blown away by Laurie Poulton's Evercreech Junction too! Philip
best horn sound ever, beautiful ship, what a loss!
Delightful
I really enjoyed this video as it gives me more inspiration for my own BGP layout, thank you for your time aaa+++
Very kind of you. Thanks, Philip
Amazing! Very enjoyable, especially for someone like me who used to live in Bath and Somerset and grew up wondering what the S&D would have looked like when you could travel on it. Hopefully it might return one day.
Thanks Philip. Philip
Excellent idea for a video, thanks!
Thanks Steve
Thanks Steve. It took a long time (years) before the technology was available. Wireless cameras previously available had been subject to interference.
What a great idear, what a good video good mixe of model and real life
Thanks Peter
In parts, hard to believe it's not real! wonderful stuff, many thanks.
Very interesting and well done. Not sure about First Great Western!
Thanks Barry. I'm not sure about First Great Western either - but got lumbered with them by Bachmann. If Bachmann had known FGW were about to rebrand themselves GWR perhaps they would have stayed their hand. It's a long time since I had to stand on their trains......nowadays people give up their seats for me. Best Wishes, Philip
g.w.r the best
A good layout ruined by the appearance of modern traction.
John Russell Artistic licence for the owner to do what they want with their OWN layout!
it isn’t even that deep first of all second of all it’s only like two sets of modern trains there
Schettino,
Awesome. Great angle for the layout
Very cool ;)
Oh nooooooooo the conncordia id R.I.P.
R.I.P. concordia :(
one of the best cruise liner . like its horn.
My version was much better with the MAC I did back in 2000. Not a video i would enter in the 5 minute festival.
Very good in one aspect. But poor in comedy structure. Some will love this others will be bewildered. White exposure did not help. Looks like silent movies could make a comeback???????
Good to hear from you Frank. Best Wishes, Philip
this is music in sega genesis
lol concordia know how to make alot of noice xD the car at the end was funny
lol
