Sam Kinison was one of the greatest stand up comics of all time.. but if you ask me his BEST stuff came when he would show up drunk at 7am on the Howard Stern Show and he would get more intoxicated as the morning progressed.. There are hours and hours of it on TH-cam.. Some highlights are anytime Sam Kinison and Gilbert Gottfried are there.. and Sam's fight with his ex girlfriend where she tells millions of Howards listeners that Sam shit all over her hotel room and Sam responded by screaming about falling asleep while he was inside her... it was AWESOME radio!!! Or the time when Howard and Sam (who were really like the best of friends) had an argument on air.. then they replayed it and counted how many times Howard or Sam said "man" or "dude" and made it into a contest for listeners. The listener who guessed closest won concert tickets or something 🤣🤣

Biz, much love dude but you really missed the most essential theme running through this entire routine. Ninety-five percent of all the jokes, from beginning to end, were about one theme: hypocrisy about the sanctity of life: Not giving people welfare or social assistance, approving of capital punishment, killing doctors and sending people to die in wars, how we treat non-human animals, judging gay people and poor single mothers, not having funerals for miscarriages (though fortunately that’s changing now, miscarriages can be devastating), waging war for the same that god people say condemns abortion, etc.

The funny thing about this podcast, is that the funniest episodes were the ones where Norm had the least respect for the guest. Like the Letterman episode, for example, was kind of enjoyable but Norm clearly has way too much respect for him to unleash the beast on him.

The entire Norm MacDonald Live is on internet archive. You should check it out so you can review some of the clips that haven’t been repeatedly uploaded and reviewed on YT

He also delivers every joke with a deadpan face he laughs very rarely and that's what makes it so funny when something terrible comes out of his mouth it just looks at you and kind of gives you a smirk he's one of the best comedians out there

This bit was one of his more lowkey ones... but all of his bits are mostly low energy... even the higher energy ones mostly center on his social anxiety... but a lot of us can relate to that i guess. In the same way that certain things just pias us off so we can relate to Bill Burr's high energy "what the F?!" type bits. Somewhere in between those two is Dan Cummins.... I'd definitely recommend "Jury Duty" or "She led with her face" bits, and go from there.

Don’t have to pretend the jokes are funny lol. To put it simply, they’re not really supposed to be, and that’s the funny part

Every bit he wrights is built to be either obtusly silly, viciously dark, or the honestly in parenting. He’s worked for so long that he has something for every topic and can change half way through to make you think even more. He’s a master of swerve

It doesn't help that English is cobbled together from multiple sources. There's Old English in there, some Old Norse, Latin, a good helping of French... and just about anything else English speakers have found useful to borrow from over the centuries. It's a pain in the butt for people who speak more concise languages to learn English, because it's full of bent and broken rules.
