I'd love to argue with Wayne about his cheap gear cus I'm a gear snob, but every time I saw them they sounded great, the PA system at the venue I always saw them at is one of the best in the world so thag helps too. RIP Wayne, you're missed homie!
All that I can say is that the guitar sound of Wisconsin Death Trip is THE most brutal, perfectly chunky and smooth, rhythm sound that I have ever heard bar none!!! I challenge anyone to show me a better, meaner guitar sound. I WILL say that Dime's Far Beyond Driven sound is a close second, but just listen to a couple of songs like track 5 'I AM' or 11 'The Trance is the Motion.' I mean, it's completely jaw-dropping!!! It's heaven!
I agree about that tone. It seems that Koichi's VHT setup was rarely mentioned though. I know the MG would have needed help with a PA. Even Wayne said the MG isn't that loud.
I love him ... why? for a few reasons. 1. His fucking HAIR AND BEARD! I MEAN FUCKING SERIOUSLY!? 2. He's probably one of the coolest and laid back dudes in metal... and he's not full of shit 3. He gets his tone (which is fucking BEAUTIFUL... PURE METAL KATCHUNK!) from very affordable gear. He's showing his fans and people that want to play guitar but can't afford expensive shit, you can get as far as he has with VERY affordable gear and Imagination/Creativity! he's a fucking legend! \m/ Rock On
I would say some are some arent. I had a really nice 1997 LP Standard that I regret selling. I had gotten it secondhand at a good price and it was definitely worth what I paid for it considering "how much guitar I got for the money". Also had a few other Gibsons that werent as nice and also a 2001 SG Classic that was pretty nice. I say tru and find something made before 2002 if youre getting a Gibson. I bought all the ones Ive had long before the pandemic and it was probably a lot easier finding a good deal on a used one then.
Lmfao, the look on his face when he says “kiss plays Gibson.” 😅
Oh, another person who’s not from 15 years ago.
Yknow what am sayin
Agree with him, all in the wrist.
His signature Epiphone aint easy to find and if u do the ones I've seen are expensive asf!
True words.
Jasjasjas creí que Wayne era un poco alto pero está chaparrito xD
1:41 check it out, know what I'm sayin?
does anyone know what's the equivalent of Marshall MX100 today?
its the mg100hdfx. it is really affordable and sounds amazing. one of the best ss amps out there.
@@sinisterfame622 thanks man, awesome! :)

You'll never win; he's a musician, you're a tech geek, he knows what he wants, you're lost in the sauce.
R.I.P. Wayne Static. This SUCKS. I was a huge fan of his music.
@ragzy02 Check out the album "City" by Strapping Young Lad, best metal guitar tone ever if you ask me.

Ragzy I completely agree with you! I love the tone on Wisconsin Death Trip, it really cuts through the mix.
1999% agree with you.

What you are hearing Wayne play on the Wisconsin death trip album is a Gibson Les Paul through a Marshall Valvestate 8100 amp
@beano1eye later he also used gibson v's ace used les pauls gene used gibson grabber
kiss also played Ibanez...you know what im sayin'? lol
Paul Stanley used Ibanez!

look at the black label banner in the back fuck yea
Is he drunk or something? lol, he acted a little weird in this interview.
gibson is alright. i love my 78 strat though. wayne switched to esp shortly after this interview.
No Wayne... I don't know what your saying lol
whooo i own his guitar! its fucking awesome :D
Want to sell it to me?
@@powerhitter033 I could be tempted. It is the epiphone one
@@Morgoth136 Yeah and blacked out.
How much do you want for it?
@@powerhitter033 I could let it go for $300
haha yeah somebody changed their tune as soon as he started playing something other than a gibson
Lol its funny cuz the newest interview he had hes all about ESP
Not really, he was given a ESP by Sean from the band SOIL. I don't think is is actually endorsed by them, though...but he may be nowadays.
he always says ' you not what im sayin' haha i say that alot aswell
i think so, he just recently switched
Yeah, as of the start of 2007. This was uploaded in 2006, before the endorsement.
Isnt he endorsed by ESP?
does anyone know how much one of those guitars would go for?
I'll give you that one.
this musta been b4 he switched to ESP
I have no idea why he jumped ship or if ESP is offering him money, but he's really waxing lyrical about Gibson/Epiphone here.
His last name is actually Wells.
He's with ESP now...
Wayne Static > Gibson imo
He plays ESP LTD now.
I'm usaully bored out my mind when bands talk about their gear, but this wasnt' the case when I was watching Wayne... I wonder...
that was a realy smart shit he said there i play guitar for about 5 years and i never had any prolems whit my gear he is right rock on wayne
I have a warlock, and they aren't that good. The tone isn't all that great, but they do look badass. If you want good tones, go les paul.
A Marshall MG? Are you serious? I couldn't imagine a professional trusting one of those. It's a total beginner amp o.O Weird
um, dont ALL moms complain about every little thing?
only 4 times you jackass
i use the shit i'm used to use damn right i do to i use windows 98 couse i'm used to use it :D
He's right about how you perceive things. I always perceived the Epiphone as a lower quality Gibson wanna-be.
however.. im really not sold on gibsons, i just dont think theyre worth anything near their cost

im getting the MG100DFX head.. its the one he uses, and yeah, its kickass, and only $350 too
Haha this guy is awesome ^_^ I thought he was high :P
"Why that particular one?" "Because I like it." "They have newer versions that are out--" "I don't care." That.... is awesome.
you know what im saying? xD
