Catharsis - A conversation with my brother about Anxiety
มุมมอง 3134 ปีที่แล้ว
A little while back I caught up with my brother to talk about mental health and the challenges he faces dealing with his his anxiety as life continues to throw us curve balls. Mental health is an ever expanding area where this is still much to learn. It takes courage to speak up, as does admitting to yourself (and others) that sometimes we do need a little help. The question was asked, how long does it take to setup my camera rig? BMPCC6k with Zhiyun Crane v3. Here's the answer, sort of. Really the answer is less important than the message of keeping calm while working under pressure. That's real world and that's what helps give you the edge when push comes to shove. Good
Why on your dj controller does the irig connect to? I also use a yahama 10gxu
hi can you set it on vertical mode?
You never use the irig2? That's what I use. Works great for me but I use it with my iPad that way I never lose any battery power. If I just use the iPhone that will only last me for a 90 min show.
I need a new streaming device as my current one evermix4 has an issue within the software with audio clipping while live. I use an iPad air so my connect in usb type C wanted to know when plugging up do you have to convert a 3.5 headphone jack as I noticed within you video. Can you go 1/4 to it?
I can relate, I bought “one of the simplest” interfaces and I had to spend next 4-5 days learning and researching what the problem was to then find out how to fix it…. And then start buying stuff that wouldn’t fix it!!!! I just order them prior seeing this video hoping would solve the problem, put me in service… And forget the “mistake”.
3:49 LOL
I appreciate the info but I especially appreciate you sharing your frustrations with the process. Another thing, you never know what little bit of info might be useful, for example, I didn't know there was a mini pin to XLR converter. Excellent, very watchable. 🥳
Heyyy. I’ve got the 6K pro with small rig cage but it can’t fit in my crane lab 3. Any ideas please ???
Thanks for making this great video man, much appreciated :-) I just got myself one of these for live streaming on instagram but the sound when I go live is really quite no matter what I do. Would you know how I could get my sound louder? I set my gains to 5 and play out through the booth monitor outputs on my decks. Thanks so much if you're able to help me. Steve :-)
I’m looking for one where I can have 2 guitars 2 vocals which is best cheers
Big deal
Hi . How do you control to record, stop or focus with the crane?
What’s the battery you have connected? And the usbc cable you use for the SSD?
I agree, very frustrating to set up .
Thanks for the great video! Quick question: Are you able to run the gimble with the power cord attached or do you reconnect between takes? Thanks again!
It’s long enough for me to do the majority of shooting I need. Although every now and again when you push it further away from your body, it tugs on the camera.
hello, do you think Samyang 14mm EF is good for BMPCC4K with viltrox adaptor?
Depends what you want to do with it. Be mindful of things like crop factors and what alternative setups there are to achieve the same result.
Seems like they’ve discontinued the irig powerbridge😢
So the power bridge is no longer available and dual pro I/o won’t charge your iPhone while in use. So what is the iOS device charging solution now?
I haven’t tried the Pro Duo yet, but about a year ago I was looking for a way to take the audio from my mixer and plug it into the phone my church livestreams from. I ended up making a Direct Box that connects a mic, instrument, line, or mixer to the smartphone.
Hi ! Great video I have a question you can possibly help me with. I’m looking to purchase a IRig pro duo I/O. And I’m wondering if the aftermarket power supply (not the powerbridge). Charges your ipad/iPhone while in use Or does it just supply power to IRig unit ? I have not been able to find a legit answer to this question and saw in your video. This is something you were trying to overcome by purchasing the powerbridge. ( which ik multimedia ) does not sell or stock anymore. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks !!!
From memory is didn’t charge only sent a data signal. Weird though they don’t sell the powerbridge anymore. Have they updated their devices since this video?
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 Ok so today I got to speak with a guy who worked with Apple and GarageBand. And is retired now and works with musicians. He informed me. They have updated the IRig and now have the IRig pro duo I/O which I did not realize is the second version of the IRig. He informed me that the 9V power supply apparently does charge your iPad /IPhone , passes through now and IK Multimedia have discontinued the powerbridge. Hope this info helps someone. It took me 3 days to get a solid response. And it does not directly say this on IK multimedias website. ! Thank you for the fast response looking forward to checking out more of your videos ! Have a great day !
@@SNOKRASH thanks for sharing the info!
dude! awesome. I'm really struggling with the iRig. it says it works with windows and android, but it is driving me insane. I have a feeling it's just going to work for apple only. do you have any thoughts on this? (i am n00b)
I think it’s just an apple product unfortunately. What does their website say? There’s been a few comments in here asking similar things about android so check out those comments too as they might help.
this is all FANTASTIC, but none of it matters unless i can figure out how to get the camera plate to LOCK in place properly. Ive done all the 'lift an lock' tricks with that crap plastic lock, nothing works. everytime i move gimbal it slides and unbalances itself. I now have packing tape rolled up - adhesive side out- on both sides of the tray to HELP keep the tray from moving. THIS is what it takes to get this to work!? what do i need to do besides return this Zhiyun Crane 3 LAB? should i get the 3S Pro like i wanna do? is the material better quality?
Your gimbal shouldn’t be sliding? Left or right or back and forth? Both have tightening screws to keep them in place, otherwise it could be faulty? What camera setup are you running? The 3s might be better if it’s a heavy camera, but it could also be overkill.
Since you attached the tilta box to the crane v3 shoe, it won't turn? I verified that the v3 is very unstable when I put the tilta box
Turn as in pan?
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 yes
I can get mine to pan? I have to adjust my ease in and out of the pan speed so the movement is less jerky but overall it's been pretty decent for most shots. I do find though that if you're trying to use it to do a traditional tripod shot, just do a tripod shot.
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 I have the Masteredition version with the motors, I had to remove the Tilta box. It raises the center of gravity too much and makes it almost impossible to adjust the motors to the lens, the front plate to hold the lens falls short because of the height that Tilta provides.
@@Housesion i’d be interested in seeing what you mean to get a visualization of your issue. Either way, this setup has been working for me.
hi, are you using an offset plate with this combo? I didn't need an offset plate with my pocket 4k+small rig cage. I upgraded to a pocket 6k with tilta cage and can't seem to mount this combo without an offset plate. It doesn't look like you are using one, so I am a bit confuse.
I'm not, it's just going straight to the cage. Granted going to the last holes on the bottom but it fits. There's also an adjustment knob for the arm though that you can move on the gimbal that helps to fit it on.
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 wow, I never knew that existed. Thanks alot, I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you so much for the quick response. I have a shoot tomorrow and I was very frustrated with the offset plate. Also, since you have it mount on the last set of holes, how do you keep it lock tight? I always had issues with the plate turning on me.
@@ikonzstudio8447 cheers man! I’ve been struggling with keeping it all locked in place with the one screw tbh. Been frustrating me at times too and haven’t figured out a long term solution yet.
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 hi, I just found a solution for that issue. I realize that those mounting plates have a screw thread, so I took a screw from my crane 2 plate and screw a second screw into my crane 3 mounting plate. Now its fully lock into place! Now I just have to order extra set of screws since I still use my crane 2, lol
For the 6k I would want to attach a battery brick to it instead of holding it on my waist while using the crane 3. Is there a battery I can attach to the 6k that will fit with the crane 3?
Everything Colossal there might be. You would have to find an attachment piece for the handle. The advantage if going off the hip is that it disperses the weight.
any problems conectig. the nucleus nano and using the focus wheel in the crane ? Also, can you use the nano nucles and the nano nucleus follow focus wheel with a second operator ? .. btw great video and thanks for the explanation
Haven’t ever used the focus wheel on the crane v3 with this setup. Just attached the nano as an additional component. You can get a second operator to focus pull, you just have to work out how they can see the screen for focus. Potentially a Terradek (think that’s the right spelling) for true separation, otherwise they would have to walk next to you.
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 thanks mate
Streamyard should enable you to stream in stereo to FB, even though FB only streams in mono. im hoping streamyard will be the work-around.
you'll only be in mono with that set up... an irig stream would work better...
thank you, I was wondering. sounds terrible.
Would you recommend to use de BMPCC with the Crane v2 or is it worthy to spend the extra money with the Crane V3? Small Budget ... Thank you
Sorry didn't see your comment! If it still matters, I wouldn't use the v2 anymore as the motors start to give out pretty quickly. that though was with the 6k, a cage, and a follow focus attached though so as long as you keep it light it will hold, just be compromised in the tilting function.
Thanks for review
I'd love to get a return Sub(scribe)?!?!
I appreciate your efforts and time!!! I'm still debating if I need the Irig Dou, or if I should get the iRig Streamer???
i'd use a stream... from what i can see the duo is 2 mono inputs where the stream is a stereo input that is rca which i'm expecting you're a dj and would suit you better
Do you think it can take the payload of sigma 85mm 1.4 art with a weight of 1130g with this set up?
Nur Amin with all the other things in my setup or a more parred back setup? It might but I would recommend getting a v3 if you can. I found the battery life with this setup significantly reduced and the motors would ultimately would give out at a certain angle.
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 With your set up. I will look for the v3. Thank you for your reply.
Question; is there a cable with 7 pin to USB-c port for the APPLE IPADPRO 2019 OR SOME OTHER DEVICE?
Franky R. Not with the ones that I got but that was over 18 months ago now. They may have updated it since then. Check their website?
Same question
Bosen Drama Same reply.
What cords did you use to make the actual gimbal buttons work the camera? Did you have to change any settings in the Blackmagic for it to work? I have the Black magic pocket cinema camera 6k and the Zhiyun Crane 3 Lab. I have them balanced but can't figure out how to change the camera settings and how to record without physically doing it on the camera.
Larsen Motorsports that’s how I use to too. The gimbal is purely the gimbal so all the bells and whistles underneath are useless at this point. I was able to get the Crane 2 and my sony a6300 talking with each other but I didn’t fit it that beneficial for the work I had to do figuring it all out. Might investigate if the camera’s bluetooth option can work with an iPhone or iPad to change settings at some point.
Sir I want to ask you , is sigma 18-35 best lens for bmpcc6k . Rokinon Cine Ds or any other lens you can suggest. I am beginner so my budget is also $1200. what I can get to use the camera's full potential.
Big question! Lenses vary based on what type of shoot you have to do, your budget (as you said) and lots of other stylistic choices. Some lenses are sharper than others and the general rule of thumb is that the better the glass inside the lens, the better the image will look. Samyang/Rokinon have great budget cine lenses. Sigma are great too. You can get great looking vintage lenses if that's the way you want to go. Really only once you have a series of different lenses will you start to notice the differences between them all as you start to notice 'their personality'. If it's your first set of lenses, get a wide zoom, a telephoto and then a prime 50mm. That way you're pretty covered for most situations. Good luck!
Great video mate, I recently purchased my bmpcc 6k and I was looking for a suitable gimbal. I’m sold cheers
i just purchased a 6k as well. Deciding on which crane works best with. i use a 18-35mm lens.
@@SYZ Hey ! Can we see some footage ?
Checkout my other vid - Southdown Gardens. Lots of footage in that on the gimbal.
Glad I could help! Did you end up with the Crane 3 of 3s?
That is not a v2.
You sure?
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 This is the Crane 2
Hey. Tell me, did you like the Crane 3S stabilizer? When you used the Crane 3S stabilizer and the Blackmagic 6K video camera, the video picture was smooth, did not twitch? Do you like the operation of the Crane 3S with the Blackmagic 6K? There were no vibrations? I also ordered a Crane 3S stabilizer.
The footage is smooth most of the time. I'm still perfecting the 3-axis move but that takes time. I would go the Crane 3S over the Crane 3, which is what I have. Just seems to be better suited for heavier cameras and has better grip functionality. How have you been enjoying the 3s?
It's Not About You Productions I have a problem. when I move not a stable picture, everything is balanced. but recently I saw this video. when balancing the panoramic axis, I saw another setting: the camera rotated 90 degrees and the camera down, and at the same time it should be fixed if you turn it with your hands.but I didn’t succeed at the same time so that the camera looked down and at 90 degrees. I then hung the weights and it turned out more or less and the stabilization became many times better, but I have not yet put a canopy on the camera. need to think 🤔 how to do it. from time 07:40 look th-cam.com/video/NojHhgIBqE4/w-d-xo.html
Cергей Вернега interesting. Is the twitch right at the very start of your movement? So when you start to pan you get a little jerk motion before the motors take hold? If so there are internal settings you can access that help that.
It's Not About You Productions how did you balance your Blackmagic 6K? have you moved the cage with the camera closer to the right side of the stabilizer or vice versa to the left 👈?
It's Not About You Productions I move in “L” mode, this is not panoramic mode. twitches when moving forward or backward. Here is my video fex.net/ru/s/oyovfmm
I heard this gimbal overheats in 1/2 an hour. Is this your experience. I love some of the footage I have seen but not worth the price if it overheats in 1/2 an hour. I have never had that issue with my DJI Ronin.
Haven't ever had overheating issues with mine. Battery life is better than the Crane 2 as well but ultimately the heavier the load the more strain you are putting on the motors + batteries.
I see you only show the connection for the iPhone, but is there a connection for Android as well?
onedropmic depends what Android you have but i’m pretty sure it came with a micro-usb. Not sure about the Usb-C.
I would really like to know how this works with an Anroid device and what it'll also look like on a PC. I dislike Macs and I don't have anything Apple at home. Will it still work for someone like me with only Android and PC devices?
Chris Kepu it should, according to their website, but go through the comments on here and find one by a woman named DJ Mademoiselle. She has had troubles getting a constant power supply for an Android.
Hi, I’ve watched the vid a few times, it’s very informative, I have a pro duo... which I love, but in your vid, you turn your music up and down, but your voice is still coming through. When I use it it takes total control of the audio bus so nothing but the music would be recorded through the iPhone.... unless there’s a mic plugged into the controller.
colin tolley to be completely honest with you, I was so excited that I got it working I got my audio inputs wrong. I filmed me making the correction but in my worry (18 months ago) I decided to leave it out thinking it would look dumb. This video was only on about 500-600 views before Covid19 started and I had chalked it up to being an experiment in doing this style of video. Now lots of people around the world have been watching and this has been picked up once or twice and I do this 🤦🏽♂️ to my former self’s decision. You’re right that it takes over the audio and the only way I would be able to still be heard is by having a mic input through the mixer. XLR input on the back for channel 3 works a treat! Hope this answers your question and you can have a lol at my former self too. 🤙🏽
Why don’t you use a powered USB hub? They power everything.. you also could’ve used jacks into pro duo as they’re line level, the xlr are probably causing the problem in the headphones..
Caley Hall would a powered USB hub send audio signal through it? If so then yeah might be worth investigating.
It's Not About You Productions I’ve just bought a pile of powered USB hubs so I’ll let ya know in the future but I’ve watched a lot of TH-cam clips where people add in powered USB hubs so looks good.. I’ll look into a hum eliminator/ground loop isolation as well..
It's Not About You Productions th-cam.com/video/N8RGWQTKz7c/w-d-xo.html he uses a USB hub for recording into iPad..
Caley Hall this could be a good solution for Android users too. Have had a couple of ppl ask about that on here. Thanks for coming back and letting me know your update though!
It's Not About You Productions yeah no worries, I’m yet to film anything for TH-cam so I’m trying to get myself together..
Cool real estate video how much do they want for the place?
Farmerwal For the Garden History Society so doesn’t come with a price tag.
What's your quickest time for balancing it?
Farmerwal that is a good question and one in which I think I might have to do a video timing myself. What’s my starting point? All camera pieces separated and gimbal not in any previously balanced settings?
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 looking forward to the speed Run video
Farmerwal took me 12 minutes just now. The video looks terrible though as my cat jumped in front and had his butt in camera for half of it.
Why not just shift your wireless follow focus on the other side and change its rotation direction. You'll maintain the same centre of gravity and not add any extra weight.
Charankumar C cheers for the suggestion, it’s to do with the screw pieces not lining up properly with anything on the other side in order to place the rod. Have a look at my other video where I have it on the crane v2. It doesn’t sit flush.
@@itsnotaboutyouproductions3195 I guess it's like you said in your video, real-world problems. Didn't think of that, thanks for the clarification. All the best with everything.
