How to Use The 2 Speed Shifter on the UBERscoot 70X 2 Speed Scooter. Right Way To Use It.
Careful With The 2 Speed Shifter on the UBERscoot 70X 2 Speed Scooter. Does the Mototec have this or Goped Go-Ped and How is the Right Way To Use It.
How The Speed Shifter Works on the UBERscoot 70X 2 Speed Scooter and why is it so stiff? The stiffness is caused from being new, but after you break it in the UBERscoot will become much easier to shift. REMEMBER to only shift the UBERscoot shifter once and not twice because it could damage the shifter. You only have to speeds. You have 1st gear and 2nd Gear. If you try shifting more than once you could break the shifter and then be unable to enjoy the benefits of having that 2nd gear.

      Thats a good question, I would check plug for fire/spark after making sure fuel is getting to carburetor. If you have Spark and you have fuel, it should run. Check on and off key switch if you have no spark, make sure the switch is not grounding out. You can disconnect the wires on the on and off key switch and try it. Good Luck

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question James, Unfortunately your weight would be an issue because of the bearings in the controller. You may be able to upgrade your bearings, and as far as the motor you can upgrade it also. Yes! I feel the weight issue is going to be a problem in the long run unless there is an upgrade on the bearings. Hope this was helpful.

    • @heavystarch100
      @heavystarch100 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I weigh 279 the bearings were not the issue. Its the gearing you will have to modify. A gearing set up for hills will solve the problem. Same issue as motorized bicycles. Once you set the right gear ratio your fine. A fast gear set up wont work. A set up for torque will work, even without a carb upgrade.

      Hello Jaqwe Bogar, The thumb shifter wont stop you from riding it but it will keep you from shifting into the next gear which will give you more speed. You should contact the company you bought it from and let them know about the shifter. You should have a warranty. and as far as the key, that also is warranty and the company you bought it from should replace it for free. If you have waited too long and warranty has expired, try going to www.mototecusa.com and see if the part is available. Hope this has been some help. Stay Safe and have a great day.

    Can you show how to start up the scooter ?

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Neil, Yes and really that is a great question. Many times when we attempt to start our scooter we wear out the pull rope and it breaks because either our gas mixture is not right or we have run our scooter alot and the spark plug needs to be cleaned or even the carburetor may need cleaned because water may have gotten in your gas. I have cleaned alot of carburetors on the 2 stroke and 4 stroke. Make sure your scooter has a good fuel filter to keep out any sand that might get in there when filling your tank. There are many things to consider when cranking up your scooter, whether it is New or Old Scooter. Maintenance is always something to keep up with on your Scooters 2 Stroke Motor or any motor. Thanks again for a great Question and we will get to working on that video. Have a Great day and Ride Safe.

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that depends on the individual and how he maintains his scooter. If you mix the fuel correctly and keep the chain oiled and bearings greased. It should last a long time. You will have to learn to pull it apart and fix it when needed and carry parts in case none are available, like an extra chain, spare bearings, Extra throttle cable, and brake cable. The older the scooter gets they change the models after a couple of years and parts might get a little hard to find. I am not saying that will be the case with the UberScoot but I have seen it happen on occasion through the years with Chinese scooters. Hope that was helpful, and Have a great day

    • @scooteroutfitters2780

You would have to look at your clutch set up and see if the transmission will fit, and modify the chain length. (I am just making an observation). • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Bolt, Praying is not a bad idea, because I don't see any chains available. What we normally do if we have a customer that needs a chain and we don't have one in stock we try and find one longer than the one that's needed and we remove some links to make it the size we need. You might give that a try. You can also keep looking around for the chain online, but I think most of these dealers get their parts from the same supplier they get their scooters. If we see a large demand on certain parts we will make a special order and have them shipped in. Sometimes takes 3 weeks to get them from China but at least we have them available. Hope you find a chain and Have a great day.

      Have you checked your belt tension on the 2 speed gear box, The gear box has a small clutch disc in it, but also you have your Clutch that operates by centrifugal force on the motor where the Gear box attaches. It sounds like a clutch problem to me. Have someone check that out. I have not seen any problems with the clutch on the motor, but I have seen tension issues with improper adjustments to the 2 speed gear box setup. Hope it gets fixed because it is a good scooter from what I have seen so far. Any scooter will have issues sooner or later. Let me know how it turns out. I need to do some videos on diagnosing certain problems that occur with these UberScoots 70X 2 Speed. Take care and hope you get it up and running soon. We we are here if you have any questions.

    Will 40 to 1 oil work?

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Bolt, When you get your Scooter you will want to find out what the oil/gas ratio will be for your scooters BREAKING IN period. You may have to mix your oil at 25:1 or 30:1 for the fist few tank fills and then move it to 50:1. Your 40:1 will not hurt your scooter if you mix up a gallon with that, but try to stay with what the book says on your scooter. I always figured the people that Manufactured the scooter should know the best route in maintaining their scooters, so see what the manual that comes with the scooter says and try to stay as close to it as possible. They should send you a Plastic Mixing fill bottle with 2 different mixes on it. 30:1 on one side and 50:1 on the other. The 40:1 mix oil you have is just measured out for you in the bottle, but the oil itself in the bottle is 2 Cycle oil that can be used to pour in your plastic mixing bottle as you seen me do in the video. Your Oil/Gas Ratio will always very depending on how much oil you add to the gas. Hope I made that simple and have a great day Scootering.

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Korey, If the engine sounds like it is trying to move the scooter but does not move it, your chain could be too tight. Many times when these scooters come from the factory they seem to tighten the chains too tight, so check that . You should be able to push the scooter Forward and if it does not push forward, again it sounds like a chain that is too tight. Try looking at this quick fix first and let me know what you find. Also make sure your brakes are not too tight causing the issue. Have a great day.

      Once your oil is mixed right and you prime the carburetor with choke on it should fire right up after a couple of pulls. If it does not crank after about 5 pulls there is a problem and most of the time its a simple one. Getting a New Scooter can get you nervous when it does not crank right away, but the fix is usually something you overlooked when getting it ready to crank. Hope all is well now, and have a great day.

    I just recently bought one of these scooters I had it running for about an hour and now it doesn't seem to have any power going to the chain or at least when you hit the throttle it's not going but the engine is running fine

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Steven, It sounds like a carburetor adjustment issue. Your motor can run fine without a load on it, but when you get on the scooter it has no power or pickup. also make sure you mixed your oil and gas correctly. Sometimes the heavier oil mix on the scooter can dirty up the spark plug where it does not fire as well. I'm really not thinking spark plug unless the plug was bad to begin with. Hope there is not an issue with a slipping clutch in the gear box. I would only think that if your scooter will run at full throttle and full RPM and no speed. No Speed meaning 10 -20mph Sounds like a simple issue with it being new but its really hard to guess any further without seeing and hearing it ourself. I hope this little bit of information has been helpful and we hope you can find the issue. Have a great day.

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Bernardo, I will try and do a video on replacement shifter and cable, but that is not going to help you now. The cable from the shifter goes down inside the gear box and connects. You will have to pull the plastic cover off the gear box that surrounds it and look where the cable connects. You will also have to adjust the cable after installing it. You might find someone you know to help you with this that knows a little about mechanics. Good Luck with getting your shifter installed. Wish I could be of more help at this time, Have a great day.

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Hoboken squat cobbler, The Shifter is adjustable. In the gear Box where it attaches has an adjustment there and if that does not work good enough you may have to loosen the cable from the gear box and adjust it that way, Also right on the Shifter where the cable enters, it has an adjustment screw there also. I know my shifter was pretty tough when I first got it but one of the bearings in the gear box went bad and I had to replace it, but Once I I assembled it and had everything adjusted correctly it shifts super smooth. I really don't know why mine was stiff at first. I believe there is a video somewhere on the adjustment of the shifter cable to the gear box on TH-cam. I may have to start using mine as a teaching tool on Video for all the issues I keep hearing about on these UberScoots 70x 2 speed. Hope you get it fixed.

    • @scooteroutfitters2780
      @scooteroutfitters2780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, You can get your 2 cycle oil mix at any hardware store or even Walmart. Just make sure you mix your Oil and Gas according to the Scooter instructions Manual. There will be an Oil Mixture to follow for the first few tanks full. Then you will run it at the regular mix. Every Scooter Comes with a Plastic container you use to make up your oil and Gas mix. One side of your container will read 30:1 and the other side 50:1. This means for the first few weeks you will run your scooter at 30:1 (30 to 1) this means 30oz of gas to every 1oz of 2 cycle oil. Then after the (break in) period is over your Gas/Oil will mix at 50:1 (50 to 1), and once again this will be 50oz of gas to every 1oz of 2 cycle oil. Learning to mix you gas and oil correctly will keep your scooter up and running like it is supposed to run. Bottom line is that all scooters are different and make sure you follow the Manufacturer guide lines on mixing your fuel and to what ratio they recommend. I hope this has been helpful.
