growing up 40 miles away from the Ranvilles and being the same age as C-Weed, I admired and watched them grow from CKDM to the Brunswick and to the bright lights that they now so deservedly command. I originally considered an anthropology major in college so I love learning about different cultures and the beautiful ways we are all different. I came across this video looking for more in depth information in to Anishinaabe pre-European culture and government/clan system. I read a bit from the normal places like Wikipedia etc but I wanted more and that led me here. I wanted to say I think it beautiful seeing indigenous people reclaim their culture that my European ancestors tried so hard to erase from your communities. Especially the young people learning the language and traditional ways to stay self sufficient. Indigenous people’s understanding of how to live in harmony with the eco system they live in is absolutely unmatched. Westerners have become so lazy so instead of farming or raising livestock or hunting/gathering we go to the grocery stores and consume poison. That laziness has spread in to every aspect of life and I think the powers that be want to keep us all ignorant and relying on them for even our most basic needs. Sorry this is such a long winded comment but from an outsider’s perspective I just wanted you all to know I think what you are doing in your community is beautiful and wish you all the best.
