IEEEP is purely a non-commercial entity and meets its expenses through subscriptions from members and donations from entrepreneurs dealing with electrical and electronics goods.

The Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) arranged a Panel Discussion at a local Lahore Hotel. The Topic of discussion was "Independent Power Producers (IPPs): A Stranglehold or an Opportunity to Salvage the Power Sector".
Engr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi (Former Prime Minister of Pakistan) was the Chief Guest.
Following Panelists took part in the panel discussion:
1. Tauseef H. Faruqi (Former Chairman NEPRA)
2. Dr. Fiaz A. Chaudhry (Chairman BoD NTDC)
3. Engr. N.A. Zuberi (Former MD PPIB)
4. Mr. Ammar Habib Khan (Energy Economist)
The discussion was moderated by Engr. Tahir Basharat Cheema (Former MD PEPCO).
A huge number of professionals keenly listened to the discussion. Later, the participants asked questions to the panelists.
In the end, the Chief Guest Engr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi addressed the audience. The event ended with distribution of Shields.
