And that concluded our daytime soap i got hooked on guiding light and as the world turns in my early 20s sadly i was 2 years too late and fate played a cruel joke on me again 1 year later

Back when I was a kid, this theme let you know you were about to leave the soap opera block and into a hour of Inside Edition and Jeopardy followed by Oprah

I remember when my Grandma used to watch all her grandkids at this time, she'd make the little ones (me, my little sister, and my younger cousins) sit down and watch her stories with her, and by the time this theme started playin', we were all conked out, and I was the last to conk out on my Nanna's stomach... yeah, I had a Big Mama. I remember and cherish them days like it was just yesterday.

I get emotional watching and listening to this as I started watching soap operas in elementary school alongside my maternal grandmother. Favorites were The Young & The Restless, The Bold & the Beautiful, and Guiding Light.

From 1990-1994 2:54 this use to be my favorite thing. (Age 3 to 7) childhood.

luv the theme song --- cant get it out of my head i play it almost daily and it keeps playing in my head ---- how i miss the soaps especialy GL ATWT and AW --- those were the days !!!!

My point is, the as world turns jelinda’s theme close remained in the same key throughout the credits and just faded, I would have liked for the GL closing to remain in A major and let it fade

Hearing this only reminds me that they cancelled The Guiding Light much too soon. Then they replaced it with something that no one was interested in seeing. Sad!

I am an 80s baby, and this theme song makes me so emotional now because it just brings back memories of a really really bygone era... My mom, sisters and I doing our CBS binge in the summer starting with The Price is Right then Young and the Restless, Capitol later Bold & Beautiful, As The World Turns, and closing out this gem, Guiding Light. Good times... Good times....My dad was still alive out somewhere working always working...🥲

This theme always made me sad on Friday’s. I had to wait the whole weekend for Monday. This cast crawl is when GL was on fire and Kim Zimmer wasn’t even on the show. LOL!!! Such great acting & amazing writing. I really miss the show especially this time frame.

I was 4 years old when both my great grandmothers used to watch this show. Nothing like the old 90s love the closing theme sounds relaxing back when things was different. When listen to this just takes me wonder what people where doing around that time. Still remember 1993 and 90s miss those were the good old days don't miss being a kid talking about was lose the problem child... LOL 😆

There was an uptempo version which aired briefly that was horrible. Fortunately, they went back to the slower format.

This theme was why I watched the show... It was amazing to me.
