ULTIMATE Coleman SaluSpa Error 02 (E02) Troubleshooting Guide and Fix
Dirty Filters, clogged or kinked hoses, bad flow sensor, or bad pump will all lead to Error 02. I assume, like me, you were tired of seeing the hundreds of videos just telling you to clean your filters, but my filters are brand new. With this guide, I go through actually troubleshooting the root cause of the error and finding the correct solution. Leave a comment if this video wasn't helpful to you so I can edit the video and make it as effective as possible for everyone with this stupid error code. I'm not an electrician or service technician, just some guy who was sick and tired of getting this code and not seeing the resources I needed on the internet.

Coleman SaluSpa Error 03 Easy Fix
มุมมอง 14K2 ปีที่แล้ว
My hot tub randomly shut off last night due to Error 02, which happens every now and then. Since it's been so cold out, the pump didn't want to turn on and kept giving me Error 03 (Pump's thermometer reading water temperature below 40°F). This is not true though, since the water temperature was actually around 70°. So the issue was with the thermometer inside of the pump reading closer to ambie...
Free Boat Part 4 - First Wash in 15 Years
มุมมอง 263 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is basically just me pressure washing the boat, it's more of a filler episode before I get to the important stuff. I also got new registration stickers. I took some time off from making a video because I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the boat after finding some engine issues. I'll talk about that in the next video. Free Boat Part 3 - Trailering it Back Home

The boat is ready to be put on the trailer and taken back to my house. The total time it took from loading up to getting home was about 4 hours. Not too shabby.
Free Boat Part 2 - Restoring the Trailer
มุมมอง 1704 ปีที่แล้ว
I try and fix everything on the trailer in order to make it road worthy again. It hasn't moved from this spot for at least 20 years. How much does a free 3500lb boat trailer actually cost? "Royalty Free Music from Bensound"
I was given a FREE BOAT! Am I in over my head?
มุมมอง 384 ปีที่แล้ว
My wife's grandmother gave me her 18' 1988 Flare boat that hasn't been in the water since at least 2007. I know nothing about boats or boat motors, so I decided to document everything I do to get it back up and running. In this first part, I just wanted to assess the situation and come up with a game plan. "Royalty Free Music from Bensound"

    What about the pump? I don’t hear anything when I turn it on, This is my prob too. I don’t hear the pump. The error goes away if I shove the garden hose into the intake and run the hose at high power then there is no error so I think it’s the pump?

    Thank you for this amazing video. I’ve replaced my Impeller before. But i never realized how the flow sensor was problematic and my issue. Great video. Very clear. Well made and it helped me fixed my E02 code and probable from pulling my hair out in aggravation. Found the new sensor replacement on E Bay thanks to you as well.

    Thanks a lot for the great video! 👍 Unfortunately, I have a newer model that is more square than egg-shaped. Inside, everything's pretty much the same, some "improvements" aside that make self-repair a bit more tiresome. Mine showed E02 the other day, which usually indicated a dirty filter. Swapped the filter, no change. Today, I tore it apart to inspect the plumbing. All the tubing, the flow sensor and the impeller are free from gunk and debris, nothing is bent. I slowly started to put everything back together and tried to fire up the pump sporadically, but it only turned on once and stopped after a few seconds. Funnily enough, it does get 12 V AC and there's nothing inside that would impede rotation, yet it refuses to turn on. 😳

    Great video. I have the new impeller kit on the way and I'll probably be tearing into mine tomorrow, but knowing how that sensor works and that it's the only thing triggering the E02 is key in understanding how the system works in order to resolve it. Thanks!

    I sat through 20 videos of people just changing the filter before i found your video. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this. It gave me the confidence to take mine apart and it was the impeller too. One small comment i have is you keep pressing the heating button with no water in the pipes, i would think this could overheat the element. You can just press the filter button which will put the pump on without the heater.

    This is the BEST video explaining the problem with these units, thank you. My egg died 2 years ago after 2.5 years of use. I took it apart but couldn’t get it working again so I bought a new spa. Here I am less than 2 years later and the new one stopped working with an E02 error yesterday. I know it’s the impeller that isn’t working and not the flow switch because I was able to force water through the intake to simulate flow and I don’t get the error. Now the question is- Is it the pump motor or the impeller? Although I’m working with the newer rectangular egg, your video has given me enough instruction to take the plunge (so to speak) and see if just an impeller replacement is required.

    • @tr24291

      I bought a new impeller kit on Amazon to replace the old one and I’m back in business. For the record I’m sure all I needed was a couple of $0.01 cent bushings to keep the impeller centered, the kit I bought was $40 which is still better than $750 I guess. Bestway is a crap company, no customer service to speak of and no parts. Planned obsolescence. If you aren’t handy you should not buy a Saluspa / Bestway spa. They will crap out in 2-3 years due to the bushings deteriorating and you’ll get an E02 error.

    Appreciated your video very much! We're still stumped with ours... could it just "simply" be that the pump itself is busted? If that's what it was, would we be getting a different error message than 02? After taking it apart, multimeter reading was fine, impeller looked totally fine, no tubes were twisted. Also the flow sensor was fine (in that nothing seemed broken and we were able to recreate the error 02 bypass that you showed by holding the magnets together). With ours, we hear nothing when we turn it on (except for the initial click). How can we know for sure if in fact it's just the pump itself that's the problem? If it were, unfortunately it doesn't look like you can buy a P4071 anywhere anymore. But it would at least be good to know, in case it's something else...

    Super helpful video but I have a question : this helped me a few months ago, and now I am getting the e02 again now. So I dismantle the thing, and I start with the flow sensor. I made a makeshift bucket/tank to test the system as I went along. Oddly enough, the pump and whole system runs when connected to a home depot bucket. I then take it back to the hot tub, plug it in, e02 error. I am going to do further investigating but is it because the pump is getting a different pressure from the water in the small bucket than the hot tub, and can't quite move in the hot tub scenario? In any event, it seems to again be a pump issue but it happened so soon after the first failure, making me wonder if there's anything else I'm missing. Thanks un advance for any reply.

    • @joshdes3023
      @joshdes3023 ปีที่แล้ว

      How are you connecting to a bucket? I have tried this and couldn't get it to work. I did it by putting a hose in the very bottom connection (inlet) and then turn on the pump and watch it come out the top connection (outlet). The water hose and pump together does not supply enough flow or pressure to move that flow sensor enough to not get the E02. What I am saying, is I hope you're not putting the hose through the middle connection and you have the flow sensor flipped backwards. I am in the process of making a second video showing this and how to jump out the flow sensor so you will never get the error again.

    I have the Coleman saluspa, it looks slightly different from this, and the flow sensor is in a small Grey rectangular box (looks like an outlet box). Sensor was clean. Inside the heater had a little white flaking, I cleaned it with a straw brush. Impeller looked fine. I run the thing even with no filter on, and it shuts off in about a minute. E02. A while back my gfci plug had melted for some reason, I replaced this with the same one. Any idea what could be wrong?

    • @joshdes3023
      @joshdes3023 ปีที่แล้ว

      The error code should be the same, so I'm assuming E02 is from no flow. Keep in mind, the error only deals with the magnetic flow sensor. I would remove it and make sure the flap part of the sensor is making good contact with the upper sensor, so even if it's clean, hold it in your hand and push the two ends together. As long as those two are touching, you should not get error 02. If you still are, then your issue is with the sensor itself or the wiring for the sensor. I also know that the flow sensor flap has a little bump or nipple on the end of it that protrudes about 1/8" outwards, I had to cut that off of my parent's hot tub sensor because they were getting the error even while I was holding the sensor closed in my hand. I couldn't figure out why their sensor wasn't working, so I temporarily jumped out the wiring at the control panel, just so their hot tub could run while I ordered a new sensor, and it wasn't until the next day that I thought of cutting that little nipple off so the two magnetic pieces could get a little bit closer to one another. Fixing their hot tub and then mine about a month later is what persuaded me to make this video. If your sensor is working properly, then the issue is with your pump or kinked/clogged hose.

      Remove the filter all together and run the hot tub and see if you are still getting the error. This video is intended for people that have already ruled out a clogged filter as their potential issue. The potential issues for getting error 02 with the filter removed are pump issues, wiring issues, sensor issues, or clogged/kinked hoses. This video shows you how to troubleshoot each of those.

      @joshdes3023 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you checked the voltage at the main board to make sure it's being sent the 120V to start the motor like shown in the video? If the main board is good and sending the signal, then the issue is definitely with the pump. Since it's just a 120VAC circuit, you could splice the wires for the pump into an cut outlet cable and plug it into the wall to see if it turns on. That's pretty crude, but it will get the job done. If the pump is blown, a new one is around $100 on ebay.

      Marjorie, if your tub isn't set up yet and there's no water in it, you're going to get error 02 every time because there's no water to push the flow sensor against the magnet. Have you set everything up yet and tested it out? You will get error 01 if you are holding the flow sensor shut without pressing the heat button. I think if you got everything working without water, then you should be just fine with water. Good luck!

      No, I haven't had that yet, but it's an over temp error. Your pump is probably overheating. I would cool it down somehow. Maybe turn it off for a while and let it cool down or remove it and take it to a cool place in the house. If none of that works, then the thermometer could be bad.
