St Neots Falcon Hotel renovation
มุมมอง 35221 วันที่ผ่านมา
St Neots Falcon Hotel, is it going to be renovated or what? Well, this hotel has been empty for nearly 20 years and certainly needs something done about it. So some plans have come up for some housing to be built at the back while the front of the building which is listed is going to be commercial and residential. So, have a look at my video and see what you think. Thanks for watching, Andy
St Neots Master Plan
มุมมอง 1.2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
St Neots Master Plan, I didn’t really know about this until it came up on my Facebook. Hmm, I thought what is this all about so I looked further into it. I had no idea the council was looking into building another walking/cycling bridge over the river here in St Neots. I see the original plan was thought about wayback in 2004 but been shelved on and off several times. Well, it looks like it may...

St Neots Market Square, what’s happening?
มุมมอง 9392 หลายเดือนก่อน
St Neots market square, what’s happening. Now, if you live in St Neots or visit from nearby you can’t help notice that something is going on. So, I thought I have a visit and have a look and see how the work is progressing, and is it? Well, work has started, but boy is it taking time. In reality or they are doing is re planting trees and re-paving the market square and get rid of the parking th...

Eynesbury Manor, St Neots, the forgotten estate. We all hear about Loves Farm, Wintringham estate and the new loves farm development so I thought I do a little video about this forgotten housing estate. Developed about 20 years ago on virgin farm land between Tescos and the ernulf school or what ever it’s called now. At the back is a man made marina which is very pleasant. Come with me as I hav...

Papworth video - Absolutely dire. Just continuous shots of "Andy" wandering around, could have been anywhere. No mention of why and how Papworth Everard's history. Why was formed from a small village to a tuberculosis colony, then as a major heart hospital, its many factories, its people, how it changed over the years and why. A brief mention of the now defunct hospital and why it moved to Cambridge. No mention of people and population. Absolutely dire.
Interestingly, Cambourne roads where originally designed as 30kph, but obviously we measure in mph so all the speed signs displayed the nearest mph. Original speed posted was 19mph. It later changed to 30mph, and that now has been reassigned to 20mph. That's 3 speed changes during it's existence 😮
Thanks for that, I didn’t know about all the speed changes in Cambourne.
Friends of mine owned and farmed the fields where Camborne is built on. They sold the land to another big farmer because of death duties. 2 yrs later Camborne was built. Where the belfry stands used to be another friend of mine living in static homes in the wood. It was idilic until the was brought out with no choice in staying. We know the place as crambourne as it’s all so packed in.
Ha ha, at least it’s not so cramped in as Loves Farm in St Neots or Eynesbury Manor estate. Thanks for the info and a bit of history around the area where the hotel is now
@@andrewwardmedia yes that is certainly cramped.
Great to see another video, just sent you an email :D
Sat down and there it was notification of a new Andrew Ward Explorer video Cambourne's what's it all about? I was enthralled by the production values, charm, wit, charisma, an absolutely delightful foray Led by this much loved experienced consummate performance by Andrew Ward ❤
Lol, what can I say, I look forward to your comments ha ha
Nice video Andy! Nice to see Camborne! Hoping to see a Wintringham updated video. There's a nice path that goes around the outside of Wintringham I think you would enjoy as a walk / video. We live on Wintringham and recommend it. Keep up the good work
Thanks very much. Wintringham video will be coming soon. If you look back on my videos I have one from the start when it was just fields.
Looked like a pretty soulless place to live I have to say Andy. No history there.
Hiya, well it is a pretty new town, only about 25 years old now. Before it was a farm called Monkfields. Thanks for watching.
Hi Andy, it’s fantastic. See Cambourne again. I haven’t been to Great Campbell or Campbell for many years. In fact I used to go to a church service there for awhile anyway, and then that church service moved out of the hotel the older hotel to the newer community building, but it’s absolutely amazing to see how much the place has changed since I’ve visited there.
Hiya, thanks for watching. Cambourne is expanding and a new phase is being Addis called West Cambourne. This will go all the way to Caxton Gibbet.
Nice video Andy! Nice to see Camborne! Hoping to see a Wintringham updated video. There's a nice path that goes around the outside of Wintringham I think you would enjoy as a walk / video. We live on Wintringham and recommend it. Keep up the good work
Is st Neots station really good? Has it got a newsagents/shop in there?
I’m afraid not
Such a shame that Dennis let it go. He knows it's listed and if it gets to a state beyond repair, they'll knock it down and build houses. Which is what he wants. Such a shame they can't restore it to be a bit like Jordan's Mill with a cafe/pub and shops, maybe an art gallery too.
I agree with that, well we will have to wait and see the outcome
Hello, Andy! Loads of thanks for your video! The place looks very interesting, I hope, all rebuilding and renovations won't spoil it one day. When things change for the better in the world, I hope, I'll come to the UK after some time. From Moscow with love to your country and great hope for Peace! 🕊🕊🕊🌍❤
Hiya, thanks for watching and love to Moscow, let’s hope we gave peace soon
Hi Andy, thanks for the shout out mate. Hope you’re doing well. I’m heading there in October so I look forward to seeing how the place has changed. Also, I’m appreciate you covering Houghton and I look forward to seeing what and if there have been any changes. Nice seeing you upload again Andy cheers mate.
Welcome Michael
Great video Andy! Sad in many ways to see what the St Neots high street has become. Use to be such a vibrant town, hopefully we get back to that one day. The Falcon is very much the embodiment of St Neots itself. Hopefully they turn ir around. Great content as always. Oh also, was lovely to meet you this summer while i was out on a jog outside your home. Keep doing what you do ❤
Ha ha, I remember lol. Thanks for your kind comments.
£1000000 20 yrs ago…….. how much is that worth now? You could park on the market square……… or not now.
Not when they have redeveloped the market square, could not see any plans for it
@@andrewwardmedia I know I was be sarcastic about the parking. Seems silly to take all the parking away from a town which has limited parking already and houses still being built.
Must be nice to be able to buy it for £1m and do nothing to it for 20 years :S
That’s true, one million to have spare,
@@andrewwardmedia Also had a timeed camera 1 shot ever 5 hours and actually think the guys doing teh market square do move!
Seems like there would be plenty of demand for potential tenants if rented considering the proximity to RAF Alconbury and RAF Molesworth. Lots of American servicemembers stationed there and rotating in and out.
That’s true, welcome to sunny uk lol
@@andrewwardmedia I was there from 2016-2018 and lived in Little Paxton. Loved, LOVED my time in the UK.
Remember the leaflets through the door years ago when we lived there. Looks like a scam to me, a bridge that isn't needed.
Very interesting. It's really worth noting the other side of Armed Forces Day / Weekend - th-cam.com/video/TxvnwMWcpic/w-d-xo.html
Thanks Andy
How about spending the money on the broken roads.
That’s true, fed up with the potholes
Beard suits you Andy. Really informative (the video, not the beard)
Lol, thanks
Just curious if you got permission to visit the barn? The farmer is very protective of it
Nope, I just walked over the fields to it. Thought it was open to the public if you wanted to see. I know you can contact the farmer but I thought I take a walk in the ,ud
How Much?!! £800,000! What a outrageous waste of money. How much is going to be wasted this time round ?😡
That’s true, no wonder our council tax is going up
Hello, Andy! Thank you for the video! A friend of mine lives there, and with your help I usually get detailed information about what is happening in his area) Good luck to your channel and you personally! 🎉🎉🎉 By the way, you surprised me a lot with your visit to Uganda 😮 Hats off to your courage and your interest to other people's life!
Cheers, thanks for watching and your comments
Andy! Have you been round Cambourne yet?! 😊
Not yet!, I’ll have a look
Not yet, I’ve been there but not filmed there yet. Been to the Monkfields Arms lol
Andy have you checked out Hemingford grey?
Hi Michael, I will
Thank you buddy
No problem 👍
I'm not sure how close to the main 'A' road the church is? But in early 2005, I was travelling back to Milton Keynes, from a gig that myself and guitarist Tom had just finished. As we travelled along this road (not sure if it's an A road?) we both of us saw a hooded figure to the side of a field coming close to the edge of this road. It clearly was a hooded figure, and the both of us were utterly baffled as to why somebody would be out so late wandering around.
You never know, probably kids playing around
How much from uganda to Rwandan
About £100
Bought up in barrington in the 70s,moved to Kent. Thank you for making this video
Glad you enjoyed it
im going to it sunday woo
It’s a great show. There is going to be a monster truck there as well which belongs to TH-cam Kev Tablot who makes videos about RC cars,
Rumours abound that the pub/restaurant was burnt down deliberately so as to clear the land for development / pounds. All very suspect as so many things are when buildings get in the way of greed.
Sounds about right, you never know, big development there now with McDonald’s etc
When will the building stop Andy it's out of control in st Neots....
They certainly building a lot over the few decades. Tempsford is next so I gather
Wonderful video Andy. Good to see you back recording in St Neots! Ava and I really enjoyed this video. Ava will be sharing it with her school class. Keep up the good work!
Many thanks for your kind comments much appreciated, Andy
I hope they build more infrastructure and surgeries and schools to go with it.
Thanks for watching, and so do i
To the east of loves farm is a farm called monks hardwick. Owned and run by the tophams. I used to farm loves farm when it was a working farm. Myself and my great grandparents worked at monk hardwick.
Thanks for the info, didn’t know that, I did try and find a farm with the name Monkfields but kept coming up reference to Cambourne
@@andrewwardmedia there is a public footpath which runs through it from the top of priory hill. Quite a nice walk. Cheers for replying
Great and very detailed video, Andy! Thanks a lot! 🎉🎉🎉
Many thanks
What’s the asking price I wonder? Nice to see you Andy.
Hiya Michael, not sure, they recon the first houses will be ready around 2924. Probably in the region of £250.000 plus.
Unfortunately it’s the same all over the country once lovely English towns turned into third world takeaway and charity shops it’s not unique to St Neots.
Best thing about Royston is the Heath. I’m up and down those hills every morning…great fun!
Nice to take your dog for a walk. Royston certainly has changed over the years. I remember when there was a Wednesday wholesale and bric-à-brac market where kennendys retirement flats are now
Must be a common name we have a Fairfield hospital in Bury Lancashire 🤔 grave yard and dark history workhouses
Sounds like it, thanks for watching
What a pointless video, putting so much effort into going out on a cold, wet, early April night and making out that that's the norm for the whole year. Complete waste of time. It's lively in St Neots every weekend throughout the warmer months. Every town of similar size has similar quieter periods for rest of the year outside of festive season. Silly to imply otherwise.
Thanks for watching anyway. The nightlife of st Neots has really gone down hill over the years, you probably wasn’t around years ago in st Neots but their was 3 night clubs at least. Nowhere for places to go for youngsters now. Have a look around St Ives , very busy in the evenings and that was filmed the following weekend. I’m not trying to put down St Neots, but it is very quiet in the evenings now.
Congratulations 🎉🎉
I lived in Ware for a long time. I lived in three different houses, and two of them were absolutely haunted: Queens Road and Park Road.
Must be a very haunted area you live in. Thanks for watching
I live here
Why was the cinema called the flea pit?

Why visit this dump?? Enclosed by a rotten ring road & with the Oxmoor Estate nearby!!!
Thanks for watching, I agree about the ring road
Interesting story! I googled hijacking information and it seems that the hijacked plane was from Air France and not this one
That’s what I thought, but when I asked around they said it was this one and it had been resold. To be honest, I don’t really know, a bit confusing. Thanks for watching anyway
@@andrewwardmedia It doesn't matter if it's that or not, anyway thanks to your story I found out about it. Thanks for your videos!
