This was a gymnast I thought would win gold in the all around , worlds or olympics. There was so many Chinese gymnasts of that era that were gymnastics gifts ,(wu liufang), they just didn’t have the fire. Winning the Olympics in 2008, seemed to have cursed them, because they haven’t looked the same since. Many individual talents, but a shadow of the team the once were.
Kexin's routine is so timeless, even in today's code of points her 2011 routine (the hardest version) is still more difficult than Nina's 2019 routine, just shows how awesome her bar work is
I have watched gymnastics since Mary lou retton won the all-around Olympic title, and this gymnast will always be remembered. She is one of the cleanest gymnasts China has ever produced, and remarkable musicality. She was unable to compete under pressure, but i live to watch her floor routines. Great on beam and bars , but i really treasure this floor routine.
This so sweet of them. I wish we could see more of this type of thing stateside. We used to pay positive attention to athletes from other countries but not anymore, at least not in gymnastics. It would be wonderful if someone could sub this so us English speakers know what they are saying.
Because in China they love love love Shawn and her cocah, because is chinese.. literally everywhere people love shawn.. because she seems so genuine.. I remember i live in Southamerica.. that everybody liked shawn, and wanted her to win everything.. when Nastia won.. lot of people here were so upset.. to them nastia looked really ''fake and bitchy''.. not saying she is at all.. (love her) but shawn seems grateful, humble, special, she has a light.. so that's why she was invited to the show..
Love the mount btw, gorgeous as ever. It seems that whenever Pavlova learns a skill, she wants it perfect. Too bad her inconsistancy never enabled her to put all the difficult skills she had together to have a killer beam routine.
Have to disagree with you here, Pavlova is more flexible than Nastia. She has greater oversplit and a better active flexibility. She has a beautiful oversplit on her leaps and it's obvious when she is doing a planche, that she her legs can go farther unlike most gymnasts who already have trouble to get 180 degrees. Pav also has more amplitude on her switch ring hence the best ring shape. Nastia is very flexible but doesn't have the control of Pavlova
@curmeow Well they are young and probably don't have much idea on how to face the media. They would feel pretty intimidated when it's something that they've never had to face before.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 It's cool. . we're both gymnastics fans. We just have didn't views and perspectives of gymnastics. I just route for my favorite gymnasts which some are not from the U.S.A. But mainly I cheer for my favorite team which is team U.S.A.
@Huskyowner2007 What are you talking about...? Did you even read my comment. I was going to say how devastating it is that she went from such a fantastic junior to a senior who wasn't the same. How does that mean I'm trying to argue...? Sorry if I offended you in any way but I guess you didn't understand my comment...
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Hey relaxed I'm just commenting. She looks good in this video. She has a nice floor routine. Why do you always want to argue with people bitter girl?
This beam better than olympic 2024😅

Wow!!!!! Just amazing❤❤❤
mother
who is the third place?
I will never get why she didn't make the team in 08
Her landings were so controlled here. Wow!
向英雄致敬!

好看~
As much as i love shanshan i still would've taken sui lu to Beijing over her. Sui lu is much more consistent
she wasn't in 2008
@@kch4900 yeah, but she deserved to be in it

This routine should've had an execution score of an 8.875 resulting in the final score of a 15.875
😘
What was her score?
@longlong li hahaha diaper change dismount
mrs. shawn johnson. lol

Pretty cool how the host country embraced their success :)

I miss her so much :(
Can someone translate this? I would really like to know what they are saying about her.

什么狗屁。你是她爹妈啊,还来解释别人的名字。她告诉你她名字中的红代表五星红旗吗?红色的国旗全世界多得不得了。德国国旗也有红色。
I definitely would have taken her over li shanshan... too much of a headcase in my opinion
That score was.... WOW. Had she not gotten that .3 deduction on the front pike and hit that connection..... :O
Oh My God. I LOVEEEE herrr!!! ♥♥
It's called Tribute by Yanni
whats the background music?
didn't even know this happen, Shawn got endless accolades in 08, did it happened for the other US gymnasts?
subtitles would be nice
seeing her face make me wanna smile too! :))) too cute!
I thought so too but even the Chinese commentator thought the pike front was a tuck front :P.
马燕红:性马,像燕子在飞,代表五星红旗!
No, she didn't miss it. Listen closely.
This team has a lot of diversity in character just from the interview.....Hope to see them again this year!
@PhenixJoe you know they have to show work low down on the beam don't you? ie their leos have to touch the equipment...
@curmeow Well they are young and probably don't have much idea on how to face the media. They would feel pretty intimidated when it's something that they've never had to face before.
@Huskyowner2007 Sure and no I'm not mad, haha. I just hardly ever have time to use the computer on weekdays...
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Are you mad at me? Because you usually have the last words. . Friends?

@ShawnVikaKomova2012 And hey, have you read what I said, about Cui Jie on my other comment on another video?
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Hey relaxed I'm just commenting. She looks good in this video. She has a nice floor routine. Why do you always want to argue with people bitter girl?
@Huskyowner2007 Have you looked her up recently... And do you read the name of the playlist you commented from?
This is not Huang Wenqi. This is Jiang Tong.
