I just got the Guo Treble in G and it's sized between the regular flute and the piccolo and I really love it but it's a little different in that it has no lip plate. It did take me a good playing session to acclimatize to what the plastic wants rather than playing it like a metal flute.
I ended up taking the flute back within my trial period and returning it. I just didn't get on with it at all. I then trialled alllll sorts of different flutes, got ridiculously carried away, and traded in my Miyazawa for a second hand Miyazawa that was pretty much top of the range and had barely been used and was barely a year old, so was a very good deal! Completely the opposite to what I initially went there for when looking for a plastic flute! I'm glad you are getting on with your Guo.

It is intentional that there are bits of the video that fast forward! Someone asked me as they thought there was an error in it. I should have put fast forward logo on it! Can’t edit it now unfortunately.
The wooden flute has a much smoother sound for me.

Thanks to post this vidéo. Very interesting.
I’m going to Windsor park Lego land at the end of March! 31st! 20 more days! omg I’m so excited!! That exact place! In London! ❤❤❤
Have fun!
Because of my health condition I’m trying to sell my Alfred Verhoef Cocus wood concert flute. Please if you know anyone interested let me know.Dani Bošnjak flute player at Zagreb Philharmonic
Hi Dani can you please let me know your contact information. Thanks
I thought you made a better sound on the Rudall Carte overall.Interesting you eventually went for RC.Many thanks for posting.
Thanks. It is a beautiful instrument for sure! My teacher says I produce a nicer sound on this than my Miyazawa I've had for years. I now don't even like playing my Miyazawa that much as can hear the keys click which I've not noticed before, or maybe I just took it for granted, but now my RC is so smooth I notice it. It was serviced last year, so I don't think it's that.
Well done. I did watch your Level 6 videos then you disappeared. Nice to see you made it 👍🏼
Thanks. I've been an RSLI now since April 2019, and at Legoland as their BSL interpreter for their shows since 2021.
I love Cinderella
You are a fantastic interpreter! I really enjoy watching you. I went to an interpreted show last week (not saying where) but I i know the person hadn't passed L6 and her signing was dreadful! I was really upset because i couldn't follow anything! I'm a BSL teacher (L1-L3) by the way! That interpreter signed with virtually no lip pattern, like she waa glued to the stage, like her lips been glued and completely forgetting all the linguistics of BSL. I'm enjoying watching you! The other person left me upset as I wasted my money and time and went home upset. I'm sharing this with my students, across all levels because most hearing people can't grasp that the body movements are important, not to be rigid! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💖💖💖
Fab, thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. It's a shame the interpreter for the show you went to wasn't good. They really shouldn't employ anyone who isn't a RSLI, and ideally have experience of interpreting shows before. I did two different courses - panto interpreting (and I feel a lot of the Legoland shows are more like panto as often the actors will ad lib and because of the comedy/play on words that's often in the scripts too), and a theatre interpreting course.
I can hear the differences of your playing and also in my own experience. Personally, I usually find the differences are not big enough to be convincing for purchasing wood flute.
I actually ended up buying the Rudall, Carte & Co flute I trialled at around 9 mins 30. It's a lovely flute. My teacher told me yesterday how much nicer my tone is now with that flute rather than with my Miyazawa.
Hi! Lovley flute! I also play a Rudall & Carte as my main flute, though I use a Radcliff model one. The gap is there and can be seen at 1:52! It's the metal band that the keys to he foot joint are attached to which doesn't go all the way to the end. It just means that the flute used to be a high pitched one and the mechanism was at one point transferred to a a=440 body :) The extra key for f# i think is both for ease with that being a easier fingering i think compared to the ring finger one, and also since it's fully vented with that key you should get a freer sound as well. Kind regards
Excellenta Bravo!
Best ever this is needed more for deaf people 💟👍 you that is! ❤️ and the tent of course
You make it look so easy Anny!
Thanks. It’s many many hours of script reading and preparation then attending rehearsals before going live that helps. Plus I watch my videos back and assess them and constantly think to myself after each show - was that the best I could do; or could I do anything better next time?
Lovely to see this part of your journeh, Anny. Is level 4 compulsory now? What does it add for an aspiring interpreter?
Hi. I’m not sure if it’s compulsory now. You’d have to chat to a BSL tutor. I was lucky as Level 4 had mostly been not an option when I was on my BSL journey, and was just starting to be re-introduced when I was between levels 3 and 6. I met with a BSL tutor who assessed me and he agreed I could join a Level 6 class. This clip actually wasn’t accepted as evidence for my course as wasn’t good enough.
@@annywarren Interesting. What feedback did you get? I will speak to a tutor. There is a BSL level 4 with introduction to interpreting tacked on but it seems there is only one provider for it at the moment! I might be left doing a 'normal' level 4.
@@KD-mh3xv I don’t really remember now why it failed. I think generally it just wasn’t good enough. I tried to do this film clip (same topic) three times and failed each time, so we agreed I could do a different topic, and that passed luckily.
Thank you for making and posting this video it was very useful.
I got one of these as I prefer a mask to a shield but Its steams up and sticks to my lips so I may just use a shield. i'm trying to learn some basic BSL via youtube as i work in Visitor Experience and may come across people who are deaf.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I don’t use this mask much at all anymore. I use a shield as it’s better.
great video thank you for sharing
Hi are the windows zipped or toggled? Thanks
do you have any advice on how to become a BSL interpreter? i’ve heard there are certain university courses dedicated to BSL interpreting but i’m not sure if that would help me get qualified as an interpreter
Hi. I did it by doing the levels separately, so started off at Level 1, then 2, then 3, then 6 (Level 4 got re-introduced just as I was interviewing for level 6 so I didn't need to do it), then Level 6 interpreting course. It took a lot of years, but it suited me as I did it around my children growing up. I don't know anything about the university courses, sorry. There are a few Facebook groups for interpreters, trainee interpreters and BSL, so you could join one of those and ask for advice if you want to go that route?
Can’t wait to be at this level.
I think that it would actually be useful to have a full time interpreter working within the councils in this country to be able to interpret for members of the public. Even if it was on signvideo link. That would really help deaf people. Having a larger body of representation is important, and it may have changed by now - considering the age of this video. It would be very interesting to find out what the new groups are that have been set up. I noticed that the lady said Frimley Park - which is my local hospital. I would be very interested to know where she lived. I think that there are many people who would volunteer (not as a formal interpreter) who would be very happy to help where possible with appointments etc. I know that an unqualified communication support person cannot attend the hospital and GP appointments, but it seems that those requirements are already covered.
Hiya. I live quite local to Frimley Park and it's covered by an agency to get interpreters. It's not appropriate for anyone who isn't a TSLI or RSLI to interpret at medical appointments, but I know that sometimes hospitals use staff who can sign' to help out with little things like lunch times etc. Hospitals often have a pool of volunteers they can use, but I think that's generally for running errands around the hospital. I volunteer for HFRS and have done for about 10 years, so that if they need to visit someone to do a home safety visit etc I can help. With regards to councils etc having in-house RSLI's, I'm sure it would just be too expensive, and they're better off getting in an interpreter when needed (I have interpreted for the council on several occasions so it's definitely something they do).
Lol, this was me last Saturday. Oddly enough i had packed it away twice already no problem. Was shattered and gave up in the end. So much air in the tent (not the tubes).
Dziękuję Pani bardzo za prezentację tego namiotu. Wszystkiego dobrego! :)
Hello. Step one you need to press the valves in so they click and leave them like it do all the air comes out. Step 2 you unpeg the remaining 6 pegs that you left in so the tent doesn’t blow away. Step 3 you fold the porch section into the living area bit. Step 4 then fold the bedroom bit into the lounge bit. Step 5 roll the last bit you folded on to the first bit you folded. Step 6 roll over the tent like a log roll (fun for the kids!!) to remove any excess air in the tent or tubes ( remembering to keep the doors open. Step 7 you need to grab your pump and roll the tent around it so it is covered. Step 8 as you begin to roll have somebody roll over the tent as a log roll just in front of you rolling so there is absolutely no air inside then it should fit perfectly in the bag. Step 9 you will have an argument with your family if you don’t listen to what I just said lol
U can sometimes clip the carpet in
Just to let you know when pumping up you should peg the back to corners and the front to where the beam is and the two where the sewn in grounsheet ends especially in the wind. Another thing do the middle beam then the one to the left or right then the front or back. Always have the doors open when pumping up and alway zip all the doors up when peging all the corners in and the guy ropes. I know you couldn’t as of your grass. Good vid tho
Hello Sir/Madam, how are you fine hope so! Sir I need your help regarding NVQ level 6, Kindly send me your WhatsApp number. Thank You...
this is rlly good
Thank you for uploading this video. I am a the beginning of my BSL journey and this has provided the light at the end of my tunnel.
Hi could you tell me does the tent come with a pump or do you have to buy it separately?
It came with a pump.
Another good vid Anny thank you, I've tried to order one of these today but have been told there may be stock issues. I'll find out tomorrow and let your viewers know. Oh and btw they have just had another 10 percent price drop today at Millets so now they are £699.
Update, Millets have 35 in stock, actually 34 now because I've just ordered.one of them😁
Hi Anny, just looking to purchase one of these and not to much information around. Nice and informative vid that has helped me in my decision. Thank you and enjoy your hols.
Andrew Wilkinson thanks! That's why I did the video as I struggled to find information about it. I'm using it for first time at a camp site next week so am hoping to do a review as well as I couldn't fully put it up properly in my garden.
Hi Anny did you ever do a video of using it at all ? I ask as we have just ordered one of these
My seven year old son Tommy , said he loved the fact you were signing and that you are very good 👍
John Olooney Sorry - have only just noticed this message. I am going away next week so I'll do a video of it at the campsite and do a review. Has yours arrived? Have you used it yet?
John Olooney -thanks. I was worried it was a bit messily signed as there was a lot going on with kids and dogs etc! I am a TSLI but I wanted to make it accessible for both deaf and hearing so did SSL instead.
I meant to do a video when I used it a few times last month and the first time was when it was really hot so I thought I’d do it the following week. But then that week it rained and we packed up and went home early! I am planning on doing one as I learnt a few things when using it.
Not bad at I got most what u were saying ....
