There’s a wire off the foot brake. I had to extend it to the hand brake area. The hand brake that I had already had the switch on it

@@jdmflavor5786 one thing that I have noticed was that the male plug from the pedal one is different from the side brake one, was the case for you as well?

Yes the axle splines to wheel hub the same, only differences are the stubs to the diff it self, which the difference is the bolt pattern of the axle to axle stub. The spline counts are the same going into the dif

They come factory in 1996-1997 jzx100 mark ii

I still run them, they are good, it’s been about a year since I’ve put them in but only have been daily driving them for the last 3 months since my jzx is now my primary car. The roads I commute in are rough so I don’t think I can give them a great review as I feel any coilover is gonna ride like shit in the roads I drive now. If I could change anything I’d probably go up in spring rate

Pretty much. You might need to check wire harness cos it might be different. But my gut feeling says its not gonna be that different cos I don't see Toyota doing a different harness on mass produce model

@@3mpnoodle I had the same mindset but found out unfortunately they are different. You’ll need engine, dash, and interior harness because the ecu plugs for 1g are different than 1jz. You’ll also need to find or make a fuel return line and a jzx fuel pump/assembly since the gx fuel pump doesn’t have a return line. Wheel speed sensor is another thing you’ll have to run. Best to swap rear subframe as well, but front should be fine.

@@Kloudikobe yep. And the alternator is on the other side of the engine so you’ll need a new wire to the battery for that. Coolant catch can, and I believe brake booster/master cylinder is different too

Forget the 1J, pull an na 2J from an IS300 and go that route. Way cheaper and more potential.

Throttle body and intake manifold. The jzx100 throttle body has the iacv built in, jzx100 iacv bolts to the intake manifold

This car is jzx100 non turbo, but it’s the same for gx90/gx100

I used a 2.2 ohm resistor, it was the same resistor I used on my gt86. Made for less than $5 if you grab the resistor and some make crimp pins. Here’s the link I followed www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2295091

I have no personal experiences with gx chassis, I’ve read there are differences in the front sub frame mounting points for the engine.

Grande is non turbo base model. Biggest difference is the engine and drive train. Tourer V’s run about $15k more than a grande.

@@jdmflavor5786 thank you, I’m literally trying to do exactly what you’re doing. What is the over cost so far… I also am confused because I have the exact same one as you ( with digital holographic screen as yours). But the front bumper in my has a connector for a antenna I think. Do you know anything about that? Either way I doubt it’s any drastic difference or performance to the one you have. I’m also paying 10k for mine 😭 homie got it from Japan for 5-6k but of course they wanted to make some profit.. not sure if it’s a steal .. I’m okay with paying 10 k because I know the person. I know they will help service the car.

The front antenna is actually a parking pole and some cars had that added in as an aftermarket option. 10k seems to be fair market value on the grande models. I’d expect to see them drop in price soon as I see a lot of private importers not being able to move them as quickly as they anticipated.

From what I researched the biggest differences between a jzx100 NA/gz100 vs a tourer V is the rear diff bushing, rear diff and axles. And the tourer V has a sway bar. You should easily be able to take is300/brz rear diff and axles and swap it into a gx100.

Do driveshaft is the same with the gx to jzx automatic transmission? Jzx100 gx100
