    Nishki's whole story is probably the best written story in the series. The actor also goes above and beyond and shows how the Japanese attitude of voice acting can give some Oscar actors a run for their money. The car scene in 0 is probably my favorite dramatic scene in any story and fun fact, doing the additional new scenes for kiwami as well as doing the redub over the original scenes (he was in the first game as well) was so emotionally traumatizing for him, he swore to never look at the script again. Clearly sega saw talent when they rehired him to now lead the series with ichiban.

    I’m late to the party here, a little, but replaying MGS4 on pc emulated and upscaled makes me realize this game is PEAAAAAAK 2000’s aesthetic! Upscaling shows how good this game has aged graphically but it still contains some pretty MGS2-era looking assets for certain objects making it such a joy to behold right now.

    Reload always looked...strange to me. Like, its as extremely faithful as it gets, even though it’s a nearly one to one remake of FES, there's something off about it, it still doesn’t give the same vibes. Perhaps it's trying to resemble the movie adaptation more than the original game, i don't quite know how to describe it properly, but the art direction never really felt the same, something about it just doesn't look right. Like the vibes aren't Its not as uniquely "2000s" as it should be, it looks like the anime adaptation, but at what cost, wildly differing from the atmosphere FES had. It's impressive on a technical level but artistically it's simply not as "edgy". I came to the conclusion that, Persona 3 FES looked like that because it was a Shin Megami Tensei game, while Persona 3 Reload looks like a modern Persona game in the more colorful style of Persona 4 and Persona 5. This why it doesn't hit the same feels, the art direction and overall mood used to be darker and bleaker. I can see the heavy inspiration from the movies, I liked them but I wasn’t expecting the remake to use that as the baseline for the aesthetic.

    love the vaporwave editing aesthetic, tho it is a bit visually overwhelming at times. i think something the original tartarus had over reload is the way you approach enemies. the original tartarus had arches to juke enemies and choke points where enemies would enter an alert state and more aggressively block your path if you got detected at a bad time. that plus the weapon diversity for the protagonist allowing for different approaches to ambushing enemies made the experience more varied and engaging. you could even split your party up to find the exit faster but at the cost of EXP gains since you'd be avoiding enemy confrontation. reload tartarus is a mixed bag. blocks 1, 3, and 5 feel more compact leaving a little room for error while blocks 2, 4, and 6 are more spacious and there's no way you're getting caught. ambushing enemies is as simple as sprinting into them.

    • @Pumpo
      @Pumpo 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah id heavily agree. I think the way you confront enemies in the original was so much more interesting than reload, its also extremely easy to get the advantage in reload. And thanks for stopping by I love your content man.

    I agree definitely flawed but good. I don't understand why they removed the ability to use different weapons making the sword standard but they removed the kendo class as an option to take. The game should not be this easy I have the same issues with P5R and KH3 before Crit mode came out. The color palette to me is to bright for the subject matter. Not including femc obviously, and the removal of the stamina system. And a few other things I didn't enjoy. This is a good remake but I'd still choose fes or even portable, this remake didn't hit like RE1R did when that released.

    When it comes to Theurgy and their speed iirc your team of Mits, Yuka and Aigis are all on the slower end of Theurgy speed (though Aigis might just be because she doesn’t get Theurgy while in Orgia Mode). The faster characters are Aragaki Ken and Aki. You were experiencing Theurgy at its weaker side both in terms of speed and in general dps.

    I think the general consensus is, Reload is still an excellent game, however when compared to certain aspects of the OG, it delivers on a different note. The mood isn’t as dark, combat is free as hell and ridiculously easy, and the choice to explain things instead of being discrete really hurt the game for me

    • @Merciless_Zero
      @Merciless_Zero 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think mood is still dark, just not as dark in terms of lighting like the original, but I’d agree that the atmosphere doesn’t exactly fully replicate the original, and that’s okay it’s a modernized game and I didn’t expect them to get the atmosphere correct because that’s tough to replicate when trying to modernize a game, I would say the accessibility is a good thing, like being able to control party members, I think the fatigue mechanic being gone is a good thing, I thought the fatigue mechanic was atrocious in the original, was not a fan of it in any of the other iterations even if their was a very good story related reasoning for it so I am glad that’s gone as it makes the game more accessible not just to newcomers but old players alike. I would argue the combat is still really fairly difficult if you play the game on hard or merciless, so you’re still getting a huge challenge if you wanted to play the game that way, and I think most of the additions to the combat like the shift mechanic is a good mechanic because it means you’re not exactly wasting turns and you can conserve SP and waste it evenly amongst team mates. I think the gameplay is arguably better in this iteration even if normal mode gets dumbed down a bit in terms of difficulty. My number one issue with Persona 3 Reload was the fact that atlus didn’t announce a release for a complete physical version of persona 3 reload that includes episode aigis on the disc, that’s a major issue or flaw with the game imo because it sucks when it comes to video game preservation. With that being said according to the insider that leaked person 3 reload he claimed that the next gen switch version of persona 3 reload will include episode aigis on the cartridge so that might arguably be the best version of persona 3 reload to own physically if that insider is correct about that. The choice to explain things is better then keeping things vague imo, I don’t want to have to read and look for every single piece of dialogue to know about things that should be included within the main story imo. The animated cutscenes not being animated is a fair criticism imo and the atsmophere not being replicated is another fair criticism. People say the cast of P3R feel more “happy” I am not exactly sure I agree with that since there are plenty of moments in the game where the cast of characters feel gloomy. Overall I felt like the remake was a net positive imo, it’s the definitive way to experience the base game, but definitely not the definitive way to experience the game in its entirety since the answer or episode aigis isn’t included in the disk and atlus has yet to announce a physical complete version of the game that includes episode aigis on the disc so while the next gen switch version is more likely to have it, I just generally do not agree with atlus moving towards the dlc route instead of rereleases because at the very least with rereleases we got complete physical versions of games where as we don’t get that anymore now that they are going down the route of dlc, so I am definitely against atlus going down the path of making everything dlc and abolishing rereleases because rereleases at the very least gave you the option to own all of this extra content physically where as dlc is only locked to digital, I wouldn’t have minded the move to dlc if we also got the option to buy a completed disc version of the game that includes episode aigis in the base game/disc for a higher price for those who want physical ownership over the additional content, since we didn’t get a physical version of persona 3 reload with episode aigis on the disc then I have no real reason to advocate for upgrade paths or dlc, I would much rather have rereleases then simply upgrade paths or dlc because I want a physical version of the full game, even if they gave people the option to buy the dlc seperately I want the option to rebuy the physical game for a higher price if it meant it includes all of the dlc on the disc.

    The original Persona 3 was already my favorite game in the series and Reload actually made the story hit even harder for me. P3 and FES were only more difficult due to archaic design. Because once you learn how to play them the way it's intended, it becomes even more broken than Reload. Theurgy is considerably less broken than the Fusion spells because in the original and FES, you can cast them all day so long as you had SP and the adjacent persona. Something that automatically restores completely once you return to the entrance. Resting the night before or going to the bathroom would almost eliminate any reason to worry about fatigue. And do I even need to discuss how busted weapon fusion was in FES? Characters got extremely powerful weapons much earlier than they should have. P3 Reload isn't "easier", it's just more fair.

    P5 characters are social outcasts. They simply weren't going to be great at bonding compared to the other casts in the series. The P5 cast had to come together out of severe necessity. Before that, they couldn't open up to literally anyone. Joker had to be the one to break down their walls, he understood their loneliness better than anyone else ever could. Even outside of the main party, all the confidants are at their lowest points when you meet them due to the oppressive systems they're compelled to fight against. It's why the Fool arcana isn't mapped to the main party as it is with the rest of the Hashino era games. P5 is the only exception to this for a reason. Another youtuber said it best in regards to the P3 cast. The P3 cast aren't friends, they're family. P5 cast were friends, mainly because of their shared enmity against the society that abandoned them. Once their fight was done, they went their separate ways because they're just accustomed to being loners. As we see in P5Strikers, they'll still be meeting up every now and then, but they still have goals to follow that supersede their friend group. Only one that stays with Joker at the end was Morgana because that was literally what he was created for.

    Well we appreciate things like it because it's temporary. Whenever a series it's best and brightest it's temporary. Whenever all the original cast and crew and people are there that's temporary. But most important of all we appreciate it because we know we're temporary. To say that it could quite reclaim the throne like it did back in the day is not likely. What will gaming be like in the upcoming years or decades only the mysteriously enigmatic arrow of time going forward will show that answer. But as Dr Seuss said don't cry because it ended smile because it happened. Not everything has always done it proud but more than enough of gaming from the early 2000s has been done to be remembered for a long time to come!
