These bts slowly revealing that Viggo is a monster will never not be funny, the way he’s straight faced and monotone for everything but bursts out laughing at others’ pain
I'm so glad they didnt' do the show down between Aragorn and Sauron it would have ruined the ending and the whole theme of the books which is "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future"
All I can think of is the costume department being both distressed and impressed that their pieces can withstand multiple daily 2-hour hikes up a mountainside
Although seeing Sauron in the guise of Annatar would have been cool, I'm glad they gave up on that. It would have been cool, but it creates too many problems with the internal context of what's going on.
it wasn't necessary to make Gollum look anything like Andy and you might argue it was better not to because it was already hard to be convinced that the rest of the cast were playing mythical creatures. but for me, i have to turn off a certain part of my brain in order to see actors in the role instead of just people. It helps that Orlando bloom and John Rhys-Davis don't look anything like Legolas or Gimli, but for the hobbits who look just like their actors, it did really just look like men in rubber feet pretending. so i thought of it like a theater performance, where your brain puts in half the work to make it believable. But then you have gollum who you don't have to put any imagination into it. And the separation bothered me at first. Gollum wasn't an actor there with the rest of them pretending, he was just a CGI anomaly. But then i got curious about what Andy looked like and looked up his image online. I realized that Gollum looked very much like Andy. He didn't just look like a CGI creature. Realizing that really helped me get absorbed into the portrayal.
You can really tell how much passion went into these movies through these behind the scenes, I know Tolkien would have probably disliked these movies if his son was right but I still believe these are the best adaptations we could have possibly gotten (even if some things like Tom Bombadil had to be cut)
07:08 bro had some trauma with headbutting, seems ready to cry🫂bro needs a hug. Legolas needs a hug. and not an elf hug, a dwarf hug is what i mean. 😢🫂
I'm glad Viggo's LOTR experience was so positive. He wasn't the first choice to play Aragorn and he was brought in after filming already begun. He actually had some reservations about taking on the role, but his son talked him into it.
@@Lucy-yc4bc right! So why does he need the ring? Just to control the other rings ? I'm sure saruman said he cannot yet take physical form? Maybe I need to read the books again
LotR outtakes parts 2-5 videos are all currently blocked with the message: *”This video contains content from Warner Bros. Films, who has blocked it on copyright grounds”* - WTF is wrong w/ them?! IT PROMOTES YOUR MOVIE!
Peter Jackson out of his mind as usual. Why on earth wouldn't Sauron himself defend his own land? if the crowd doesn't get it, then let Aragorn and Gandalf have a discussion about it before the fight.
No part 2 anymore 😢
Those are not outtakes

9:00… must have been very difficult ❤
"My precious gob of spit....."
I would not find it in the least bit funny if someone headbutted me
I'm so glad they didnt' do the show down between Aragorn and Sauron it would have ruined the ending and the whole theme of the books which is "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future"
"that's a lot of blood man"😂😂
Bad title…
Man, imagine if they had gotten footage of Sean Bean just climbing up the mountain in full costume
“Legolas! What do your elf eyes see?” “White light! White Light!” How’s that a gremlin/LOTR joke?
Strange that they noticed Sam's missing vest but didn't notice that Frodo had magically regrown the finger that Gollum bit off at Mt Doom.
They’re all trolling so hard
All I can think of is the costume department being both distressed and impressed that their pieces can withstand multiple daily 2-hour hikes up a mountainside
Gah my sister and I watched these interviews so many times, we said "Keep on trucking" for YEARS
I don't think he knows the meaning of outtake.

So basically Viggo is a jerk and hurts people for his own amusement. It is bad enough he headbutts men but headbutting women.........

3:55 so brilliant!!
No reason to head butt someone. You arent goats.
complaining about a splinter in their foot while someone else broke their toe during The Two Towers

7:10 this I suppose is inspired by soldiers returning home and seeing the devastation from the Battle of Britain.
"gollum juice" and other absolutely horrible phrases
Viggo Mortensen is a queer icon
Outtakes?! These are the appendix, have some respect child.
Omg they could’ve just had him with the slightly different vest in there! I want to see the original scene :(
Ql penoso chanta ql no eres famoso eres un perdedor JAJAJAJ
Elijah you maniac 😂 that looked like it hurt like hell. Poor Astin.
I'm amazed by how much of a difference enlarging the mouth did in the Mouth of Sauron scene, that genuinely made the character so much creepier

The headbutts of love... they're all secretly Mandalorians, huh? XD
"Spontaneous violent love" Beautiful words, Frodo 💀
Not exactly outtakes, rather interviews with the cast and crew with snippets of the films, but still very interesting, thank you.

Glad they didnt have sauron fighting aragorn at the end. It wouldn't have made sense, sauron couldnt take physical form without the ring
he could, tolkein describes him as having a body at that time
@@Lucy-yc4bc right! So why does he need the ring? Just to control the other rings ? I'm sure saruman said he cannot yet take physical form? Maybe I need to read the books again
What is a piece of glass doing in that water?

I’m really glad Peter decided not to turn Sauron into Super Shredder. What’s badass in TMNT would be not so much in LOTR.
The old design of Witch King is still in the ROTK. game I think
The amount of foot injuries
Peter Jackson out of his mind as usual. Why on earth wouldn't Sauron himself defend his own land? if the crowd doesn't get it, then let Aragorn and Gandalf have a discussion about it before the fight.
sauron didnt think he needed to, his forces outnumbered aragorns 10 to 1
Andy Serkis is talent personification
Mr Frodo can play with my clots any time he wants 😂
“Master Frodo can play with my clots anytime he wants!”
5:35 "that's my gob of spit" I love this guy!
to be fair, sean bean not wanting to ride in a helicopter and instead hiking hours up a mountain my himself is a very boromir thing to do
“I’m fascinated by his blood clots” -Elijah Wood
Does anyone know who else auditioned for Gollum?
