I'm not understanding why you couldn't/wouldn't just turn the unit off after it's done making the coffee? Wouldn't that achieve the same purpose? I do hate that burnt taste, so I'm curious...

You can make a capuccino faster than this. Seems like a complete waste of time for pretengous douches that cant drink real coffe.

Moccamaster has comprehensive parts supply available. You can build a Moccamaster from their parts inventory if you wanted to. That cheapy certainly does not have a similar supply. The Moccamaster uses a high quality copper heating element. The cheapy is likely aluminum. The Moccamaster will function forever if kept clean with regular descaling. The cheapy might too, actually. Maybe.

When brewing a half pot of coffee, should you use a finer grind of coffee than you would normally use with a full pot?

You did not fix anything. The black lid over the basket is very important in terms of retaining heat. You can't just ditch that. The best way to brew with a Moccamaster is to have the type where the flow can be closed off. Close it off when the water starts flowing. When you have a significant amount in the basket, stir water and coffee around a bit with a spoon. Then open the flow up. The shower head becomes irrelevant if you do this.

Please read reviews before buying this.

Coffeepilotparts out of Canada already has a production fix for this. Its just a dispersion cover for the basket. Much simpler and importantly, it actually exists

This grinder puts out the most consistent grinds i have ever witnessed in a grinder, the people complaining about the button are lame, this grinder is amazing the sound is superb, easy to clean, an integral part of the brew recipe with my moccamaster (setting 4.5) and French press brews (setting 6) FTW - everyone can afford this grinder, it pays for itself.

The Moccamaster improved showerhead is obviously a scam. The ad should be taken down and the hundreds of people who have fallen for this scam should have their money refunded.

You'll be drinking a lot more micro plastics with the whole thing being made out of plastic.

all of that is wonderful but how about the coffee it makes??? You could heat my water in a sauce pan and pour my coffee through a glove if it tastes like the best coffee I have ever had…. Don’t care about the feel and magnets, I wanna know about the coffee!!

I don’t do espresso and I want a responsive and beautiful display that clearly tells me when to stop pouring since I’ll be half asleep when making coffee. The Fellow beats the açaí or whatever in my book. Plus it looks more premium.

For the cost of Moccamaster brewing machines; the company should be ashamed for not having better design on their extremely expensive product.
