this kinda motivated me to finally put out some music… but without the pressure of wanting great success. the fact that i put my value of an artists to be at the level of the industry faves is completely wrong and no wonder i lose my motivation or my drive for the music. i know i dont want that kind of lifestyle so i need to create my own. we cant change the industry but maybe we can make our own where the goals arent gatekept by the industry but rather the goal being to meet as many people that we can by using our own merit and hard work. then as long as we are satisfied with that being our peak then we dont have to give ourselves up. ofcorse i hope to get to at least survive off of music so i have yet to see where that takes me…. but i want to be at peace with my soul that i didnt give up my standards or morals for an industry that doesnt care.

this is not the only way to break into the industry… you need to rely on God & your own abilities. and i don’t mean being “alright”. you must be *exceptional* . you should strive for that. and people who pay to see & hear you _deserve_ exactly that… this is what makes a great artist. this is why Jessie Reyez made the song “gatekeeper”… yes it is slower rise to fame if you don’t sell yourself, but what you retain is far greater!

What do mean she was not ready to be global star. You are creating issues about nothing. She undergone many interviews and there was no hitch. We know where it all started, about her race classification in South Africa. The black Americans began to have an issue with that because of their historical background on the slur word. One follow up Break Fast Club show became a backlash for her around the same issue. Things started being rosy ever since. It got nothing to do with being ready or not. Now every hater is on the bandwagon, including yourself. The good news is Tyla is far ahead of this diabolic hate train from hell. She is the global star to the dismay of the likes of you. The cabal of black Americans and some Nigerians, because they are jealous of her too, will always concoct something venomous to tarnish her image. They have started hellfire🔥even before reaching that destination. Tyla is enjoying her act around the globe while some of you are seething with pain, fussing, fuming and burning🔥. Enjoy your fire.🇿🇦😅😅

Nobody can ever fully be ready for fame. Cardi is someone who is always allowing the pressures of the public, to cause her to act out. Nicki Minaj constantly over reacts and addresses backlash too, just not as much as Cardi, Glorilla, Meg, and many others, I've never seen anyone say they weren't ready for fame when they crash out or behave in ways the public have percieved them as "crashing out" "uppity" or "entitled". Cardi b has gone as far as saying she h@tes her fans 8 YEARS INTO HER CAREER. BECAUSE NOBODY IS EVER TRULY PEPARED FOR FAME.

Tyla started releasing music in 2019/2020. This has been 5 years in the making. She started pursuing this as a child. I'm not sure why people (especially African American's) call her an overnight sensation. African American's seem to believe if they don't know something it doesn't exist. That, and the fact that they cannot grasp that colored is a race classification in South Africa and not at all offensive in South Africa, has made Tyla a target of their disdain for Africans and Tyla.

just the way she is being pushed by her team tells me that her team thought that it would be easy to launch her because shes pretty and a decent performer so they wouldn't have to do too much work, shes being positioned more as like a model than a singer. also i feel like her team doesn't care too much about longevity with her and it seems like they're trying to cash in on her as quickly as possible bc they are not focusing on building a core fanbase just based off the fact that they tried to do a world tour with 1 hit song before her album came out. i'm not trying to be a hater but personally i don't see longevity for tyla especially if her and her team keep going down this path. today you can be hot and tomorrow you not that's how the industry is and she needs to be careful

Halle was trying to direct Tyla to stand infront of the mic and then tried to give her the nomination card but Tyla was adjusting the heavy trophy to face front so it looked like she ignored Halle (mind you her speech was supposed to be short for the run time of the show), so by the time she was gonna take the card, Halle had moved away. It was an innocently awkward situation and high emotions and could've happened to anyone collecting one of their 1st big awards. It's unfortunate she's getting dragged for this. Plus all 3 from they stage are good and people did not focus on her actual speech

The hate she’s getting makes Americans look SO bad. I’m African Canadian and to see how black Americans are treating Tyla weird as fuck. Why are y’all so racially sensitive? Slavery really did a number on y’all. My goodness. Not trying to be rude, I’m just shocked to see how mean ppl are being for a lil reason

There's proof from audience members that Tyla asked Lil Nas X. She said please twice and thank you. She was nervous for getting such an award and gave the trophy so she can address the actual important part, which is her nomination under Afrobeats when she's Amapiano. She didn't nominate herself, it's the VMAs, also it was a fan voted award so she didn't deserve that hate. She's young, confident and trying her best in a new country. It's unfortunate she's getting so much hate.

@@Motivational_women1 I included this as the majority opinion and interpretation regarding this interaction on social media explicitly was that Tyla (a mixed African woman) was enacting a micro-aggression to Halle (Black woman) by implying that Tyla thinks she is "more dainty and feminine" than Halle, even though they are both petite. Again this is what a majority of the commentary on TikTok said about this. I simply said who she asked as to point out how a n awkward situation like this can be turned into something dark and even political. I'm not forcing anyone's opinion about Tyla or this situation but commenting on the video based on my research and interpretation of the the interaction.
