Cephas Williams Closing Address + Q&A | Black Out 2023 | Cannes Lions | Launch Event
มุมมอง 502ปีที่แล้ว
You’ve only seen the pictures from our launch event last week Friday. I’m still receiving messages from those that attended about how they found the entire event, the film we premiered of #CephasInCannes last year, the content that came out of all the panel sessions and my closing address / Q&A segment. For me to do what I doing now has taken a lot, I had to become comfortable with the idea of ...
BBN Black Panther Movie Premiere
มุมมอง 137ปีที่แล้ว
In November 2022, Cephas Williams held a screening / Q&A for the Black Panther movie and invited the community and the BBN network to come and watch the film for free. For Cephas, it was part of a much bigger message and purpose around how we use this movie as a catalyst to add pace and scale to change in the real world. This video is of the speech he made after the screening.

Black Man Talks To The Boy Who Robbed His Son | Offers Words Of Wisdom, Advise And Forgiveness
มุมมอง 17Kปีที่แล้ว
Why is the media not talking about this? This is the best video I’ve seen in recent times hands down, the way Winston handled this situation speaks to many of us in the Black community and is a lesson that many from other communities can also take note of and take on board. In my opinion, he handled this situation well and gave a lot of grace and wisdom to the situation. The world can learn fro...

    Security in the uk must be granted more authority than in America. In America the security would be risking their own great bodily injury or death.

    Racist are still around. Don't never think racist has stopped. It doesn't matter how much money you have in your account. This is how black people receive a jail record 😒 being innocent. Please do a lawsuit. That was assault by the man in black. She's giving accuses for their actions. Get all of their names and police staff. Racist behavior, detained, harassment and Embarrassment.

    Mr.Williams my profound sympathies for you after watching this clearly 1.false stop 2.assault by security staff. Couldn’t hear any apology from security and staff. The White duty manager male called Chris wearing black mask was initially defensive and disrespectful and you are right he should have used conflict management techniques and flexibility of approach to diffuse the tense situation and concerns. I recognise the Asian security officer wearing black suit and I know his name. It is stereotyping/cultural profiling. Whilst security stop all races of people including certain Black people who steal it is a fact as you say that Black people DO get unnecessarily and disproportionately followed around business premises by staff and security who hope that Black people would steal so they can detain Black people. I speak as a Black security officer myself and have often questioned other security colleagues why watch Black people more than others apart from certain Black people who steal. I get watched unnecessarily by security myself especially in my local stores even though staff and security know me when I go to stores too. Many people of all cultures experience this too. Respect to you for teaching the duty supervisor and shopping centre security about the ingrained discrimination Black people experience including in retail environment. I hope the Chief Executive Officer responds firmly. We are human.

    Your parents did a crap job of raising you! If you feel that it's only black people that get treated like this then you need your head checking!!! As a white woman growing up in the year 2023 this is what keeps racism going on, everything is black man this black people that...... if it was a white person saying white person this and that it would be a massive outcry "oh that's racist" All your channel is about hating other races other than your own! Have you learnt about the real history of slavery????? The Atlantic slave trade was a small part of it. The ottoman slave trade was far worse and went on longer where thousands of more people died..... many white people, do you see white people carrying on the same pathetic way you do. Why is it it's only the black people that cry about everything? Wasn't it the white man that travelled to foreign lands and seen the black man selling the black man! Yes we took to the idea but wasn't it also the white man that obliterated the Atlantic slave trade. You're a narc-issist!

    Hi Cephas, I found your video on Facebook seeing what happened to you at Bluewater, I am so glad you stood up for yourself and every other black person there and then. They treated you with so much disrespect and you were 100000% correct that they came at you with such anger, prejudgement and racism, you could see it in their body language especially the person who wouldn’t let you go and the person who tried to take your phone because they had a “I am top dog and in control” stance with you which was unnecessarily aggressive and inhuman, everything you have experienced there and in your lifetime so far is completely heartbreaking. I will never understand what you or any black person has to experience in their day to day lives but I do hope one day that your educational words and others begin to change other peoples opinions, actions and mind set and the way we move (hopefully we all one day move together as just human). Thank you for being you! I wish you and your family peace, love, light and equality! I’d just like to ad that your letter to your son is insightful and powerful

    Your message broke my heart 💔 You are doing amazing work, and I pray you to get the right support. One of the most difficult things I realised when I was running my own business was dealing with our own black people for fundraisingor donations. There are many black millionaires that can back the work you are doing, but nowhere to be found in times of need. It's really heartbreaking 💔 If we can't support our own, than who's going to help us. I walked away from a well established business because I was so tired of always asking for help to support the black community. There are many millionaires, billionaires who can support the work you do, the likes of Beyonce, and most who are in the music industry, film, businesses and more...we are however, only thinking about ourselves, and not ever looking at the bigger picture. I am not too sure, when this mind set of myself only, will ever change. All I can say is keep up the good work. When you feel you, can not pour from empty glass. Walk away with your head held high, and say you gave it your best shot. Your health is your wealth, and always remember family first. Your wife and children must be your priority. Take care and look after yourself. From your number 1 fan 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

    they chose the wrong person to discriminate😭 what a message he put across they tried to act like it was nothing and back to business as usual when really he HAD to put his point across because as white people we will never understand what it is like in the every day life of a black man. It’s worrying that this prejudice will probably never change. Some humans just look at people a certain way because of how they look, with no effort whatsoever to look inside the person

    We don't know the full story If he hadn't stolen the merchandise why didn't he just show the security guards the receipt. Instead of saying he'd thrown it away. Doesn't make sense All I take away from this is. If you are black you should never be challenged. But I have to say the security at that place are terrible.

    • @Ted26
      @Ted26 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no law requiring anyone to provide a receipt. Not showing one can be cause to investigate. Security have the powers to detain someone and hold the items if they are waiting for the police. They legally cannot search you without your consent. Also before stopping someone they should be 100% that they’ve stolen something. It wouldn’t take long to check On their system how long ago or even if they’ve sold those items. Check cctv or ask the person who served him. If they weren’t sure that he stole something they should investigate properly before holding him and his property hostage. If he hasn’t already he should definitely make a claim against them.
