VIBING IN THE DEEP WATER GEORGES RIVER
I am pretty new to using Vibes for fishing and very grateful for being put onto them by Andrew Death. A lot of my Bream fishing in the past has been with Crabs, cranks and soft plastics and im super impressed with how effective and versatile Vibes can be. Especially in the deeper water as they can get down quicker and have an awesome vibing action to attract fish. I took out the Hobie Lynx and my shimano spin gear to see what was biting.
My favourites are these;
The Ecogear VX 35/40
River to Sea Baby Vibes in all colours
ProLure vibes
Cranka Vibes
In this session on the Georges I landed another big Bream 920 Grams at 37cm Tipper a small jew fish, another 30cm Bream and a few smaller versions. Just a short session. All fish caught on Vibes in water 4 to 9M.
Hope you enjoy and see you on the next video.

2024 ROUND 9 HOBIE FISHING SERIES COMP FORSTER NSW - MONSTER FLATHEAD NOT MUCH LUCK ON THE BREAM
มุมมอง 1.9K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
I headed up to Forster for the Round 9 Hobie Fishing Series Australia Bream Competition. It was held over the 21-22nd September. I had heard a lot about the great fishing there, and also how spectacular the system is and so could not wait to get up there and fish it. I managed a pre fish on the Friday, just to look around and see if I could come across any Bream. I managed to catch one 32cm tip...
SPRING FLATHEAD IN THE ESTUARY
มุมมอง 1Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Each year I look forward to Spring rolling around and the temperature starting to warm up. It also signals the start of the breeding season for Big Dusky Flathead in the estuaries and a time when these cool fish become more active and more keen to take a swipe at soft plastics and lures. Live baits are also a great way to target flathead all year round and I have landed some great fish over the...
Hacking River Flathead on Lures
มุมมอง 2.7Kหลายเดือนก่อน
In Spring each year I'm pretty pumped to go on the search for flathead on my local River (Hacking River) and also in Botany Bay. A great fish to target with lures of all kinds. Soft plastics, Bent Lures on the surface, hard body lures and even fly. With the chance of coming across a big breeding female that become more active in Spring. I headed out on my Hobie Lynx to see if there were a few a...
Bream fishing Captain Cook Bridge and Kogarah Bay
มุมมอง 1.5Kหลายเดือนก่อน
After a week of unsettled and windy weather I headed out for a Bream session on the Georges River. First casts were on the boat moorings and I tied on a Jackal Chubby deep which landed me a 28cm tipper for a good start to the day. I then moved onto the Captain Cook Bridge pylons and cast a Crush city soft plastic, Z man grub, a Samaki Vibaliscious but did not get any takers. I then changed to t...
Flathead and Drone - Hacking River
มุมมอง 3K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
With the feeling of Spring in the air, I have started my quest for the hunt for Flathead. Springtime is generally the start of Flathead season and a time when the big breeding females become more active and can be targeted on lures and bait. So I went out on the Hacking River to see whether there was any signs of flathead action picking up. I took my drone on this session and it shows what cool...
2024 KEGA BREAM GEORGES RIVER
มุมมอง 4872 หลายเดือนก่อน
n this session I headed back to fish the deep water. I met up with Andrew Death and we used a variety of vibes to target Bream. There were plenty of things coming up on the sounder and within 15 minutes I was onto a "kega" Bream weighing in at 1.13kg. We continued fishing and moving around the area landing half a dozen or so Bream a few Flathead and trevally for what as a 10/10 weather day on t...

Cracker mate 👌🏻
Thanks. Was a great little session 👍🏼
Awesome Mick!
Thanks Adam. Was one of your lures that caught all the fish. Was nice to get onto a few bigger models 👍🏼
Like your content but don’t get notifications when you upload. When you upload your videos make sure you DO NOT select made for kids. It really hurts your channel because it limits what people can do. Good luck and keep up the great videos.
Thanks for that. All my vids are posted as not suitable for kids so not sure why they are not coming up for you. Not sure if it’s something else but I double checked and this video is. Thanks for the feedback 👍🏼
@@mickettingshausen Thank you. That is puzzling to me also. I’ll go in and see if it’s something on my end.
Love that part of the world what a great session well done.
Yes a special place indeed. Stinging to get back down again. 👍🏼
That was a quality bream mate 👌
Thanks Abz. Have struggled to get any in numbers, but occasionally come across a few nicer size fish 👍🏼
Mick great session, thanks for sharing your knowledge
Thanks Craig. Fun using vibes in the deep 👍🏼
Nice lil georgey jew.good onya mate
Those silver flanks always look good coming up in the water 👍🏼
@@mickettingshausen taste better when at size too 😅
Awesome session Mick!
Thanks Adam. Fun in the deep water 👍🏼
Nice video thanks for sharing
Thanks, fun session on the vibes👍🏼
nice one . wow you got some great shots .I thought the place would be packed in school holidays
Yes we had the place to ourselves. Great trip 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video! Very peaceful to watch 😊
Thanks Tamika. Was a fun trip 😀
❤❤❤
Thank you 👍🏼
Great day on the water Mick, cracka flathead. That would've been a PB for me.
Pretty stoked to land her. A PB on a soft plastic for me. Have landed another 86 on a live bait a few years ago. This was pretty special. Glad to send her on her way 👍🏼 thanks Mick
Gonna Need a bigger net Mick. I am amazed how clever these big ladies are at avoiding the net . I thought you were pulling up a clump of seaweed . Another great watch mate.
Yes she put up a great fight. Struggled landing her with my bream net. Super happy to catch her, take a few pics and send her back in. She was on par for my PB, I had caught another the same size on a live bait a few years ago. Definitely my biggest on a soft plastic. Thanks Mick 👍🏼
Awesome video! Love the launching footage, never been a tournament so seeing this is a unique perspective. By the way your sunglasses looks cool too! Just wondering what they are?
Thanks Angelo, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Tournament fishing can be a lot of fun. Everyone is pumped up and ready to get into it. Has a great atmosphere especially at the start line. Forster is beautiful place to visit and fish. My sunnies are Costa Grand Catalina’s. Great Polaroid sunnies and the side shields keep the glare out. They can also be detached if you don’t want to use them. 👍🏼
Good video. 🎉
Thanks, nice part of the world 👍🏼
You did really well to land that Flathead mate 👌🏽 Haha I knew Simon got me on Day 2 but didn't know how perfectly... That's some Mario kart magic there. Hope he's fast now my ankle is better 😂
@@johnathonLawrence thanks Jonathon. Yeah it was dodgem cars at the start line. Great weekend and a good bunch of people 👍🏼
Is the power pole much help and do you pop it on mainly for comps Least no donuts both days
The good thing with the power pole is that it detaches easily. If your fishing deep water it is no help, but for flats fishing or areas less than 2m it is unreal. Also really handy when you want to get off your kayak near the shore and just leave it in the water with the power pole down. When you catch a fish it is also really handy as if there is current you just stay in place while you get the fish off the hooks and release it. So if I’m fishing deep I leave it at home, if I am fishing both shallow and deep I take it with me. Also good for mounting a GoPro on the top if you film like I do 👍🏼
@@mickettingshausen thanks heaps mate. I have seen a good priced one on marketplace
Thanks for sharing Mick ,a beautiful location, and it definitely was tough fishing Nice flathead mate ... hopefully catch up with you on upcoming events 👍
Yes what a spot. I will definitely visit again. Not much luck with Bream but was such a cool place to fish. Catch you next time. Thanks Mick
That is a really cool innovation. I like that
Great video
Thank you. A bit of a mixed bag that day 👍🏼
Hey Mick ! Just wanted to say came across your channel by chance and I can say that the quality in videos and information is incredible you deserve many more subscribers, keep up with the great videos hopefully we can tee up a session one day !
Thank you very much Anthony. I enjoy capturing the content through a variety of different cameras, and am learning how to improve my editing skills so I can share with others that enjoy fishing and life on or under the water. So hopefully if I can keep capturing good content I will improve the process and a few more subscribers will come on board. See you on the water. Thanks Mick 👍🏼
I was there for the first time yesterday what a beautiful spot I normal fish in como but I will definitely be back here. It was low tide and still managed to get myself a small flathead on my first ever surface lure catch crossfire 110 with assist hooks
How good! Yes the surface luring for flatties can be very addictive. Awesome when they come up and crunch a surface lure, even if they are small. One of my favourite styles of fishing. The crossfire lures are great. I use them along with the OSP bent lures. Glad you got onto a fish 👍🏼
Its a gd little creek that one.pulled some gd bream out of there.can always get flatdogs up in that part.if all else fails further downstream ill go up to the ol trap and drift back to the ramp and take a few.
Awesome. Yes it looks super fishy that creek and I bet it fires at times 👍🏼
Like your style of videos, very informative with lots of good advice. Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback. I will keep at it. 👍🏼
Another beaut video MICK , No nonsense no swearing and catch and release . Watching some others from the shire and bay bagging out on marginal legal really is disappointing.
Thanks for that. Yes it’s fun sharing and the catch and release helps in a tiny way. Don’t mind a feed of fish, but like returning them to keep growing and breeding. 👍🏼
Great vid. I sure miss that clear water as living in qld
Yes the Hacking is crystal.
@@mickettingshausen yes it looked so nice
Nice one Mick. I’ll be heading there this week with a mutual of ours. I’ve been using American style weedless plastic rigs while trolling for lizards, but i get a lower hook up rate. Might need to try a standard jig.
The OSP bent lure 130mm are working well in the skinny water too. Standard soft plastics are usually a winner. Good luck and hope you catch a few 👍🏼
Nice video Mick ... looked liked a peaceful day on the water , gotta love the flathead sessions ... thanks for sharing mate 👍
Yes always fun when you are targeting them. Thanks Mate 👍🏼
Was good to meet you at this round Mick. Hope to catch up again in future events. James
Thanks James, likewise. No doubt I will see you at a future event. Had a great time in Forster, the fish were not playing for me, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Thanks Mick
Beast
Great fun on a kayak 👍🏼
Now thats a flatty
Went hard too. Full video to come 👍🏼
Wow that's cool
Great seeing big Dusty’s like this, and she is still swimming around 👍🏼
Race is on , surfing between the two yaks 😂👍
I was in the mosh pit. Sandwiched in between the big boys 😂
Good video. Thinking of getting the Lynx, is it a good kayak for fishing?
Thanks mate. I have had my Lynx for 2 years and it’s a very portable kayak. 20kg is light for a kayak and it makes handling easy. I roof top it on my car. You can put on all the accessories like the bigger kayaks or keep it simple. Cons: the hull is not as hardy as the Compass, Outback and PA so you need to make sure you not going to drag it up on the rocks or oyster racks etc. it’s a bit noisier in a chop and if it’s really choppy into a wind you will get some spray come up. I just finished a 2 day Bream Comp in the Lynx. 7 hours each day and it was great. So depends on what you are looking for and the budget you have. But yeah I love mine 👍🏼
Love the casters angles, looks awesome mate. Quality fish too 👌
Thanks mate. Great fun on the George’s. Always something around to chase 👍🏼
@@mickettingshausen pretty sure my grand father fished the GR every other day. Going to have to make the skip over from the Hacking again.
Your a lucky man to be able to dive and film Mick, fantastic footage
Yes love my diving and have always loved capturing the underwater world. It’s a place that not everyone gets to explore so it’s cool sharing it. 👍🏼
I love your lizards. Good area for flat heads. You deserve a subscribe for that.
Thank you. Always fun heading out to chase flathead. Looking forward to coming across a few bigger versions as we head into summer. thanks for the sub 👍🏼
Great video. Cheers Mick
Thanks mate.Hopefully run into a few bigger fish soon. 👍🏻
Great fishing Mick, awesome drone footage. Thanks
Fun little session. Hoping to come across a Big Girl as it warms up 👍🏼
A few nice fish, well done. Thanks for sharing
Thanks mate. Yes a few fish starting to come on. A few bigger fish in Botany Bay as well in another session 👍🏼
Paradise! How nice is your home river.
The best. Love it there
Nice Bream. Those crab lures look great.
Cranka crabs on the bridge pylons are super effective 👍🏼
hey mate great vid seen you where using the shimano anarchy just wondering what model it is looks nice
I have both the 1-3kg and the 2-4kg sticks. Great rods. Super light and depending on the target species and lure size I’m using i choose one or the other. They both come with me on all my yak fishing trips 👍🏼
Mick please leave the Georges river to us mugs , you stay in the HACKING 😊Love your techniques . Thanks.
Thanks George. Ha ha How good is the George’s! Very lucky having two great estuaries so close to home 👍🏼
Nice one Mick , gotta love the baby vibe ... thanks for sharing mate
Yes a great little lure for sure. Thanks Crebo 👍🏼
Conditions looked very favourable mate. Good to see you out there enjoying yourself.
Thanks Abz., good day out. Looking forward to the warmer Spring weather 👍🏼
Subbed brother 🤙
Thanks very much 👍🏼
Wow the clarity on the Hacking is amazing! Drone shots are great 👌. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks Abz, yes it’s a clean system. Has been fun using the drone 👍🏼
Cool content what’s your drone.? Interested in one
I’ve had this one for a while. It’s a DJI Mavic 2 pro. Pretty good machine but the newer drones have a longer flight time and other features but this one will do me for now. Has a 1 inch sensor so takes great images 👍🏼
