How to wax your snowboard in 15 MINUTES (+ wax secrets/brushing and polishing)

Hey snowboarders! Pretty much everyone knows how to wax their snowboard nowadays, but do you know how to do it in 15 minutes? In this video, we’re going to talk about how snowboard wax REALLY works, and a new way to wax your board in just 15 minutes with one extra ingredient! I’ll also be talking about brushing and polishing - an aspect of taking care of snowboards that most don’t know about, b...
So inspiring for an adult learner, can't believe you carve so well after just 4 years learning "late." Can I ask what inspired you to snowboard and be so passionate about carving? Excited for my 2nd season!
Pls don’t use high flouro wax lol
It's my last bar, I promise
When you say you get a new board and wax it for the first 3 times with the scrape method, do you mean you wax it 3 times repeatedly before using the board for the first time? Or that's just the method you use for the first wax before riding, then when wax is needed for the next two applications?
I would say do it 3 times the traditional way, but that's only if you really want to go fast. Just doing it normally should be enough.
@@shmsnow thank you!
Say my snowboard has a factory side bevel of 1.5. What happens if I use a tool that does 2 degree? The board will be sharper and have better grip?
Yes, if you continue to use the stones at 2 degrees, your edge should get very slightly sharper each time you tune them. Tuning at 1 degrees is not recommended in your situation, so you should definitely tune at 2 degrees.
I rode my first carving board (freecarver 9000) last weekend. I got my toeside down but heelside is a 50% and sometimes not really clear what goes wrong. Will try these tips next time 🙂
If you're riding forward angles, keep your hips as open as you can!
Yea riding 15-30. I'll be in the alpes for 3 weeks soon so i'll get it down then 😊 @@shmsnow
useful thanks
The best carving explanation, thank you
Now here I come with my trusty candle and heat gun 😃 Nothing can go wrong, right?
Candle wax is better than nothing, probably (?)
Hi Seung, do you have any public contact info for business enquiries?
I like you're doing in the kitchen...🤣🤣
Best waxing tutorial for sure. Thank you!
Try and avoid wax with fluor in it, it’s terrible for the environment. Wax goes in snow, snow melts in river, fish is dead.
Absolutely true. FIS banned flourinated waxes after all...but for indoors it might be fair game?
I have a Bataleon Goliath 2011/12 with 3BT (Triple Base Tech). Do you have a video, how to wax and then to scrape a Bataleon Goliath 2011/12? Please! So I can see how to wax and then scrape my board with 3TB (Triple Base Tech). (I'm sorry for, if my English is bit bad).
Unfortunately, the only way to wax Bataleon boards the traditional wax/scrape way is to just do it normally. Be careful around the rounded areas on the base when scraping as you can damage your base if you scrape too aggressively.
Killer edge tuning video man! I love the little paper diagrams you made.
I'm glad the diagrams helped!
great content! great time to refresh up some skills before snow season starts
Great video, didn't see 0:43 coming 😂
You did the Fridge right!

Here in the UK we have the Chill Fatore in Manchester. I'm lucky as I live only a 30/40 min car ride away so I can get there a couple of times a week throughout summer. I dont go over the winter months as the place is just way to busy. It looks very similar to Big Snow in size and layout. Also just finished watching your extremely comprehensive guide to carving. Without question for me personally its hands down the best tutorial on how to carve on TH-cam. And it's absolutely improved my riding. So thank you Shm for the tutorial and the tour around Big Snow. You never know, maybe one day I'll visit Big Snow and maybe one day you'll visit the Chill Factore. Keep up the stellar work Sir and take care.
Thank you, Chill Fatore seems interesting! Take care.
Oh noooo a Manchester City fan. 😢😢😢😂😂😂
When you search for a carve tutorial, and find the asian guy in your maths class running the joint. You speak to me on a genetic level and for that i appreciate it!
Glad I could help!
Hi Seung! Thanks for the explanation, but on other videos you get much lower, basically extremely low and touch the snow with the hand and even butt. How do you it so low?
Hi Seung!Your skiing video is amazing! Would you be interested in reviewing our ski products?
Thanks for the advice and awesome video!🙏🏿😎😇
Excellent!
how do I heelside carve with my blunt park edges? LOL jk.. Love seeing you guys carving HARD on the other side of Big Snow.
You guys are crazy in the park too. Keep it up!
holy shit we are so back

The best video i ve seen about Craving. I watched many times of your first series videos but I couldn't pick it up last winter. I tried more than 10 times but I can left pencil line at the end of every time. Do you think the slope and the sleep are very related?
Choose the best groomed snow you can find, a nice wide low blue or high green uncrowded run. Best conditions!
wanna give 3 likes as i watched 3 times.
Thank you!
I'm confused.. Open body Heel side makes sense (like door opening movement) but Open body with Toeside isn't a little bit controversial? it's almost like doing a counter rotation to make a carve.. wouldn't be closed shoulders ?
No. Check out any skilled carver, stance regardless, each of their toesides their upper body is perpendicular to their board. It's more of a balance issue than a counter rotation momentum issue.
excellent video.. what about angles? 15/15 great for carving and all mountain ride?
This is a video for beginners. Once you get the basics down explore with different angles, whichever ones you want.
Which flow bindings do you recommend?
I personally use the NX2-CX Fusions. Mid lateral stiffness and high heel/toe response!
You say open body but then show lots and lots of heelside turns that look closed.
As open as most can get on duckstance.
@@shmsnow strong disagree on that one. There's plenty of duck stance carvers who maintain proper open stance on heelside, most of the ones I know have a background in Alpine snowboarding, the way edge pressure is applied throughout the turn looks noticeably different for how you are demonstrating it. Honestly it just looks like you're trying to teach something you don't fully understand.
@@Gorbothy This is a video for beginners looking to get into carving. Not everyone has had the blessing of starting on a forward stance. MOST people don't.
@@shmsnow I made this point because this video is for beginners. You've packed a lot of good information in a very well put together video that I'm sure took a huge amount of effort but it's borderline misinformation and confusing to beginners to be talking about an open body heelside carve when the riding demonstrated is 99% closed. this would've been much better if you packaged it as a general heelside carve tips / advice video.
@@shmsnow I tend to agree with @Gorbothy. Seen tons of duckstance carvers absolutely rip. Good explanation, could use more clear demos is my 2cents.
Did you delete the previous video about heel side carve?
*toeside. It was the same video as this one, this reupload has a few corrections. A heelside video will release later today.
Well taught, thanks mate will try it this coming season!
You're welcome!
Only been practicing these indoor so far but these feel so good to do. Can't wait to max this out on the mountains in a few months
We're all waiting for the upcoming season for sure!
HES BACK
Always look forward to your videos Seung! What are your thoughts on hinging forward to the nose to initiate a carve?
It's a great way to initiate a carve, but don't dig too deep forward otherwise you'll end up flipping over!
Best carving tutorial on TH-cam, period.
Thanks. Working on better videos!
@@shmsnow What you might want to consider is breaking the various techniques down into maybe 20 minute videos..part 1..part 2..etc. Unfortunately as a university lecturer I see most people don’t have the perseverance or ability to focus on a subject much longer than 20-30 minutes. A split will be more digestible to 99% of viewers and allow them to work on one at a time before moving on to the next.
@@Mark-n4c9t You are completely right. I'm working on videos that dive on the topics separately and are shorter, thank you for your feedback!
Going here in prolly 2-3 weeks for the first time. Where should you park and is it free (if not then how much)? Im also just worried that 2 hours wont be enough to satisfy the fact i havent skied since march and wont for 4 more months😭😭😭
There is plenty of parking space in the lots, which are directly below or connected to the mall. Parking is $5 for all day.
Thanks for all the great information, I'll be visiting Big Snow soon!
You're welcome!
Dude it was sick meeting you the other day. Keep up the great vids.
It was nice meeting you too! Thanks for the support. Hope I'll see you again at BS.
What a fantastic video, thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great content! 😊
Thank you! 😁
I love having this place so close! Awesome videos!
Me too! We're extremely lucky!
A very useful video. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
What’s ur boot size?
9.5 mens.
Nice video! There will be a K-carving camp in August led by Shimhoon. I wonder you join the camp?
Probably not, I am going out of the state for the summer.
