I just got a 2023 and I love the gas mileage and I haul a lot of parts in it, so far it's a great vehicle. Thanks for the great video
hope you dont live in apartment and get ripped off
Ripped off how?
@@InYourDrivewayAuto stolen
I had a clients injector fuse blow...test drive revealed 1 broken and one week motor mount caused a short in harness thatched been incorrectly reinstalled. I popped a few fuses before I located that issue! I tend to power brake vehicles now during diag and test drives.
That sounds like such a pain man, how long did it take to track that down?
I wish you all the Best ! I'm retired tech..did so much work outta the back of my Chevy pick ups...so I sub'd just to remember...and cheer you on! My mentor ...advised me, nuts and bolts don't care how mad I got at 'em. Hahaha..😂
Thanks for the encouragement! And I hope these videos are entertaining 😂
I hope you don't plan on slamming on the brakes. I wouldn't trust a bungee cord to secure a heavy jack. Also, the grease and chemicals can go into a tote giving you more space for tools.
Well I work a lot in heavily congested areas so I have to slam on my brakes all the time, never had an issue. Sounds like you need stronger bungee cords. And thank you for the tip about the tote, i think I’m going to pick one up!
Stellar job dude. Anyone doing the mobile hustle has my respect.
Thanks man I appreciate it
I know quest The oil gauge pointer on the dashboard is not accurate. How to repair it? The car is out of oil and the pointer is still on it.
Just replaced mine with the help of this video...did not have that special 10 mil socket but I did figure out it's the spot for a flat head screwdriver so I cut a notch in the bolt and screwed it right in..then was able to tighten it with a socket. I should say the bolt on the left side of the housing.just saying it worked great for me.
I love the ingenuity! And thanks for that tip!
Great video. please do more like this. Seems like the link to your other channel is missing.
I’m glad you liked it! Thank you for bringing the link problem to my attention I will get that fixed! In the meantime here’s the link to the other channel, I got a second video up now with plenty more coming! youtube.com/@mcdevelopment-j5p?si=L5C9DVLi_I1MPkX4

Youll expand as you go and that means you'll need more room, less bulk. I could suggest a dozen things but you'll just have to fugure it out as you go. I
That’s what I’ve noticed, I’m hoping to get the chance to do an updated tool tour soon because I’ve made a lot of changes that have made the job much easier
I did some mobile mechanic repairs for a few years. Dropping in to show supoort. Good stuff man. Keep pushing forward I have the same Wilwood sticker. Great brand
Thanks for the support man!
Cool if u had actually shown the process
It was pretty simple, just the same process as almost any other pad/rotor swap. Nothing really unique other than the breakin procedure which is outlined in the instructions included with the brakes.
Useless video

Does the trans cooler need to be drained? I changed the fluid and rechecked it, it's practically black. There has to be a lot more fluid in the system somewhere.
If you want to get all of the fluid out you would need to perform a trans fluid flush, this is just a simple drain and refill, good for a “freshen up” for the trans.
I'm still diagnosing my 2018 Ford Transit connect. I bought it with 18,000 mi it has about 40,000 mi now. Lately The vehicle's motion starting to stutter as I accelerate in low speeds. Just yesterday morning started my vehicle and started to drive off and while pressing on the accelerator pedal the vehicle wouldn't move for a couple seconds and then started to stutter and then the RPMs went up for a second and then the vehicle started to move again. This seems to only be happening in low speeds I'm guessing when the gears are shifting when I'm on the freeway it doesn't do that at high speed. Hopefully the transmission just needs more fluid Thank you so much for this video. Super detailed and clear to understand. If it was 30,000 mi I would be doing a flush but since it's over 30,000 mi I'm just going to be draining and filling Don't want to damage the transmission due to disturbing sediment buildup inside Thanks again
You hit the nail on the heads with that last paragraph, a drain/refill is a good way to introduce fluid viscosity without removing all sediment. And the issue does sound like it could be caused from low viscosity transmission fluid. Any update on this situation?
Good vid thanks man. Debating between this Volant or AFE GT system. How did the Volant work out for you? Did you end up doing a tune with it? Any particular reason you went with the Volant?
The Volant worked pretty good, you could notice better throttle response, it sounded better, and I did not have to use a tube or anything for this one. I didn’t pick it out, the customer already had it ordered by the time he called me out.
Love the videos man. I’m new to the mobile mechanics business any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
My biggest advice is don’t take a job that you feel really uncomfortable doing. If it is too far advanced or nearly impossible to do with just one person (unless you have someone helping you) just be honest with the customer. Also protect yourself from bad customers who try to avoid paying. Do what is best for the customer, and protect yourself.
@ Thanks for the advice. I’ve turned down a few engine and transmission swap jobs. Not because I’m incapable of doing it, I’ve did quite a few alone which is probably bad on my part. You do what you gotta do though. Mainly though because I’m working out of my Wife’s car and I’m just not set up for that. I hate to lose the money but I can’t put myself in a scenario where I could get hurt or cause damage to the customers vehicle.
LoL horseshit Ford shit
Lol
Nice set up, I am a mobile diesel mechanic, and I just started using a top box from harbor freight in the bed now instead of the back seat.
Thanks man! I also just upgraded to a harbor freight top box as well, I’m going to make an updated tool tour video within the next week I hope
How are the HF boxes with rain/water? Waterproof/resistant? Or do they turn into buckets??
@@ryanj2071it just depends on which one you get. The one in this video is their 5 drawer tool box/cart (I just took it off the rolling stand that it’s supposed to be mounted to) and it was really waterproof, I didn’t have any rain gathering or anything like that. I never used a covering and it worked great. But the new one I upgraded to does need a covering because of how the top of the box is made.
@InYourDrivewayAuto thanks for the info 👍
Great red neckin bud, gettin it done son 👏 👍
Getter done ole son!
The word is anti-sea will cause electricity to track and it’s not permissible….
Interesting. I haven’t had any issues yet
Usually it's the two back cylinders that they break off in and you cannot get the drill in there
Yes those are definitely the worst ones on this engine!
one more step in that repair. trade that lemon in before it happens again. worst pos engine ever. ford put out a service bulletin to teach ford mechanics how to change plugs. tells you everything you need to know.
That’s a good point 😂
Great video. I've been lucky with the 5.4's I've had in the past and now I have an F150 with the 4.2, which has never given any problems at all yet
The 5.4s aren’t bad engines, just not fun to work on lol. The 4.2’s are good motors, just gotta keep up with the maintenance. 👍
Would have been awesome if you showed how you replaced it.
I just removed the throttle cable bracket and removed the sensor with a socket
After how many miles you replaced the starter?
39665
@@InYourDrivewayAuto thanks, you didn't remove the steering shaft?
I didn’t, but it would create a lot more room if you did
R.i.p. camera man 😂
A true loss 🙏😂
Would i need to have an actual company set up or can i just do oil changes out of my van?
I dont wanna be caught working out of my van if this isn't legal. Is there an amount I would have to make in order to apply for an actual business? I have clients, just not sure about the legality of independence.
I also offer electrical installation for radios and tvs.
Every state and county are slightly different as far as legal requirements, but an LLC in my state was only like $200 to set up, if you get that and an EIN you can get a business bank account and it’s easier to keep track of expenses and income. That’s basically what I started with.
Look so strong😂😂😂😂😂😂
Huh?
Weird take?
@Thatdudewiththecivic yeah fr dude
Just the video I was looking for. I have 2019 TC with 57k and it's starting to jump while driving, I've noticed the rpms jump too and there is a constant humming sound. I removed the EGR valve and cleaned it. That helped with the jumping. It does does it but not as frequently and much more subtle. The hum is still there
I would definitely give this a shot and see if it doesn’t help out
Bmw recommends 15k mile changes, which is NUTS
It is, but what’s even crazier is that’s with a top of the line mobile 1 oil filter, but people will install a cheap Walmart filter and then still 15k is a good idea.
Thanks for showing us how to do this. My Nissan dealer wants $600 to do it. While it is beyond my capabilities these days, it ain't taking the motor out either. I will look around for local guys. If they have any questions, I will refer them to your video.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the video. How often should you replace the transmission fluid?
I stated in the video how often, but if I remember correctly it was every 60k-100k miles depending what type of driving you do. If you’re towing, driving in mountainous terrain, driving aggressively, etc you should change it closer to the 60k mile mark
@@InYourDrivewayAuto Okay, thank you. I missed that part.
No problem!
@@InYourDrivewayAuto Did you drain the torque converter? You can start it up with the drain plug off and let it run for about a minute and it should get the fluid out of the Torque converter.
Sounds like a good way to burn out the torque converter. If you want to make sure you get ALL the fluid replaced, it’s best to do a full flush
Self taught fixing cars or schooling
Both
How's doing it on your own? Thinking about doing it full time but idk I feel insecure I've been doing side work but wanna branch off
It has its ups and downs, but I prefer it. It’s a good bit more pressure and a LOT to learn outside of doing the actual labor. Year 1 was pretty rough at times, but God has really blessed us in year 2 and now I’m full time along with 2 part time guys. So once you work out all the kinks it’s pretty sweet
Open beds mean loading and unloading tool boxes but I found a low effort way that's cheap and easy. You won't be young and bulletproof forever so this trick might keep you out of surgery and pain clinics. I hung a used Tommy Gate on my F150 years ago and love it because it's a major back saver. I don't lift anything heavy due to a bad back (which got that way lifting heavy objects, discs don't last forever). They're cheap used and when not lifting or lowering heavy items like floor jacks, engines, steel etc make a nice clean work surface. Since it's a half-ton I run Hellwig leaves and Timbren urethane springs because they don't conflict with anything and handle the extra weight easily. Used liftgates often outlive multiple trucks and all the parts are simple and available including the mount plates for different truck beds. i mechanized all my heavy lifting and horizontal moving (from machine tools to structural steel and shipping containers, not just vehicle-related) and only regret not doing that 30 years ago because it makes life easy.
That’s great advice thank you
This is like the 1970s all over again.
Oh word
I started doing Mobile Mechanic 25 years ago. I was the first one to do it in my city.
Sweet!
TH-cam had you as a top hit, I hope the business keeps going well for you man, love the setup, and thanks for the video! I'll check out your other vids as well!
Thanks man I appreciate it!
What's a lift? is that a hoist, truck shops don't have hoist normally and you work on a creeper, you can do anything on the ground that you can do with a hoist.
What about the filter on the transmission? Is that not replaced everytime?
The filter is inside the transmission. Changing it is really easy once you remove the transmission and split the case.
That should be changed about every 90,000 mi
It doesn’t hurt but it’s a whole process to get to it
