two small notes - though i suppose you might've looked for/found an answer by now, the legal drinking age in japan is 20. though 18 is generally the age for a bunch of things, 20 is the age where they're culturally seen as being adult. for the second note, yuki's VA was in the industry for a while - most people know her for voicing nina tucker in fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood (if you haven't watched it, the mangaka's a woman and the story is the best). sumire morohoshi has had some roles of note as an adult since then, but landing this role as yuki is a big win in my book.

Poor Gojou. The tours are really important to him, not just because it's also his hobby but because doing that kind of public (and especially international) outreach is vital for endangered art forms. (The manga and anime have been huge boosts for Hina doll makers in real life.)

I LOVE the Atelier series and I too lament how hard it is to find other people who are into it. This show doesn't really have a particularly similar tone, but I love them both for very different reasons, and I can certainly understand why this show brings Atelier to mind. Hope you have/had a great time with the show!

Pretty late, but the reason Fuyou still acted all creepy and such is to become as undesirable/unsuitable as possible. Like Maomao said, the emperor could easily change his mind about the reward when he realizes that he's giving away a good woman simply because she tripped and fell. That said, I'm pretty sure Jinshi and the emperor knew about them and just played along. He's definitely not a fool at least and we all know Jinshi is pretty sharp about hese things.

It was not her 3 friends that looked down on him but some other girls. Nowa the shorty with red highlights and lollipops immediately slid into Marin's orbit and that included Wakana. The other girl (not called by name out loud) was afraid Marin was ignoring Wakana's boundaries. Marin works as a model. In episode one she and Nowa were at the hairstylist when the sleazebag hit on her after working a gig. In this episode random girls besides gossiping about them dating also gossip about her being a model. Model job also explains the confidence,

The marks on her arm was explained in episode one. She does medicine and poison/venom experiments on her arm.

This isn't a show you need to worry about "theorizing" or bother with putting characters into tropes. The show encourages you to be in the moment with it's characters and what you want or need to know it will give you when the correct time comes. Do get to feeling better and enjoy the journey :)

The flashbacks don't stop 😂 it's an ongoing thing throughout the entire series

Fun fact: The VA of Frieren and Anya in spy x family are the same, u will notice the similarities on the heh sound...

They do a great job with the music as well… that choral rising singing while showing Himmel put the flower crown on Frieren and saying he’d like to show her the blue moon weed flowers with her nonchalant promise that maybe they will one day, then her seeing the flowers now without him… it really hits you hard. It’s so bittersweet.

Frieren is living in with Hieter during this ep.

The opening credits song for eps 1 - 16 is "Yuusha" (Brave) by the group YOASOBI. The composer of the background music during the eps and for the ending credits song, is, well, gold star for your guess.

Funny enough, I think a resurrection spell at this point in the story would destroy everything this series is set up to be lol

The story and characters are so well written and voiced that it almost brings tears to my eyes every episode. Then the music starts up and I'm an absolute mess 😂

Something to bear in mind is that one if the symptoms that you can get from heavy metal lead poisoning is degraded mental state, including paranoia. Combined with the stress of being physically sick with a dying baby Lihua's behaviour in episode 1 becomes much more understandable.

Like the other comment, it was Lady Lihua's lady-in-waiting who pushed the flower branch with note off the window. And this lady-in-waiting will re-appear in the future. Not in this season, but the next one. There will be a lot more to the whole powder poison story.
