Can you provide us with a more complex example, a report that contains personal data, time management data, clock-in and clock-out, and planned working schedule?
Is there a way to see the schematic of the story so that it can be a great blueprint for rebuilding it in Datasphere? Or, is there a general connection module to recreate the data sources and links to make this in Datasphere to then be accessed in SAC?
I don't believe there is any sort of migration process to Datasphere.
is this bug still prevalent you mentioned 7:10?
This is all within SuccessFactors, correct? Will we have the same level of access when we get to this through SAC or should we route the connection through Datasphere first, then get access through SAC?
SAC is definitely outside my area of expertise. As far as I know, the same APIs are available to datasphere that Story reports use.

Looks like good changes for Payroll. I haven't used it myself, but we did look into aquiring it for one of our Countries this spring, and I have to say the user experience of the Payroll Controll Center, and how to manage manual transactions/updating masterdata was...... horrible. It reminded me of an 1990s type system. Also one of the chief reasons we did not go with that but instead a local "best of breed" system.

@brandon - I have quick questio We have implemented a custom object to drives the pay range I have done the association.. however we are getting incorrect pay range when we create new position it picks up some random pay range based on current combination of pay grade , geo zone and legal entity it's not even checking the custom field value.6

Hi Brandon. These videos are great! I have what I think would be a simple thing but it seems to elude me. I work for a company with at 170,000 active positions. I created a query and added the table to m canvas. Everything looks good. How do I export the entire table or query? I only get 500 if I export from my page and in query edit I can't find where to export it.
I am currently working on an SF EC implementation + RCM upgrade. The workbook process hasn't changed since my first experience with it 12 years ago for an RCM implementation. Totally agree that it is outdated and very clunky. We were also pretty much left to work out how the EC system works by ourself (trial and error) which caused many headaches and huge frustration.
Can we change Bank Name to "Bank BSB" under payment information. Our system searches bank name based on bank's BSB. Will appreciate your help.

You are too kind! This is my very first video. I'm glad you found it useful. I prefer the mass changes for metadata personally. I actually did a test recently where I changed the division to business unit assignment in the foundation objects. Then I did MDM for all of the positions in that division, updating them to the new BU. MDM failed because the division the positions were in to begin with were not valid given their existing BU. To me, this seems like the core use case for MDM so I'm thinking why bother with this tool? Mass Changes For Metadata objects works just fine for the same scenario. So I won't be recommending MDM going forward.

Glad you find them useful! There really isn't a lot of added configuration for LOA in that case per se. However, if you're implementing time off you will of course have a lot more configuration to support whatever those requirements will be. You would need to assign the LOA time types to the relevant time profiles. Hope that helps clarify.
Will this return all rows for an employee that has a termination record? Say for John SMith, he was terminated then rehired. In your filter on JOb Info, the Terminated employee status isnt selected.

No impact to rules. Rules are tied to external codes. And also we're not changing the contractors themselves, only the overall terminology.
What difference it makes doing changes in text replacement, in comparison with manange language?
Good question! Only a subset of elements are available in text replacement (maybe 5%). The other 95% are in Manage Languages.

The time filter at 5:50 is very useful and flexible for HR to focus on the data for the month, quarter, year, past year, etc. Can you share how is this time filter configured? We tried to add a time filter but it does not give the options to select the From (month, year) & To (month, year) selections

Great video! One thing that I struggle with is that when using a table in story reports, I can't seem to be able to rename a measure, I can only rename dimensions. We for example have added the field Full time fixed salary in our data source and it ends up as a measure instead of a dimension and we need to be able to have the whole report in Swedish, why I need to rename the label of the measure. Do you have any suggestions?

just discovered your page and I'm loving it. quick question - in your "sync to position" rule shown at around 12:20, you're using "mass position" in the condition. what is this "mass position" attribute? is it a custom field or some standard attribute of "Position"? is it the same as "multipleIncumbentsAllowed"? when activating "transition period" a position can still accept more than 1 incumbent for a given time frame, yet the position doesnt need to actively be defined as "multipleIncumbentsAllowed" = Y. Any suggestion on how to exclude position with multiple incumbents within the transition period?
Thank you for this video. If an offer letter needs to be signed, would you agree that new position - requisition - crossboarding is the way to go? As using position reclassification doesn't generate an "offer letter" that can be signed and stored.

Yes I can see AI playing a role here. However, I think that the main type of documentation I would like to see (why did we do it this way?) will be human based for the foreseeable future...or for at least as long as humans are involved in the setup of the solutions!
Brandon makes a great point about the breadth and depth of knowledge system integrators must maintain (e.g. countless implementation guides, KBA’s, etc.) It would seem unreasonable to expect them to become experts in their client’s organizational design including business processes on top of that. On the other hand, subject matter experts from the business (e.g. HR departments) also must maintain expertise in their respective domains. It would seem unreasonable to expect them to become experts in not only SuccessFactors Employee Central but also any other human resources information systems with which their role may interact (e.g. recruiting, onboarding, payroll, etc.) My understanding is the role of the Business Analyst exists to bridge the gap between “the business” and IT. A business analysis plan may demonstrate a thoughtful approach to eliciting, specifying, analyzing, validating, managing, and communicating software requirements including the “why” as Brandon states. Sadly, in my experience, a business analysis plan is often not included as a formal deliverable in the scope of many ERP projects and business analysts are not empowered to own the outcome of making sure solution designs meet the needs of the organization. Why aren’t business analysis plans included as formal deliverables on more ERP projects, does anyone know? Or is my experience different from others’?
