I am raising babies roght now and i forgot to add the perch I thought they would be terrified when I added it few days later but they were ok and they definitely are using it at 2 weeks they are 3.5 and they are perching 17" off the ground. I never showed. Them thry do it on their own. I woke up today and thry were on the highest oerch lined up im wondering if they slept there pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7858165/

I would have liked to see a diverse group of chicken breeds and a larger sample size, BUT regardless it provided some great information:) they can always repeat the study with other chickens. When I initially purchased the Eglu I was confused that they kept calling those the roosting bars😂 however, all the other aspects of the Eglu I love❤️then there are the perches outside. Mmmmmmm! We are approaching first frost time in Arkansas. We have a long growing season, but I always want more!! I did plant a fall/winter garden. I bought those Chinese broccoli seeds after watching your video last winter. I have a bunch of seedlings. I probably planted them too late, but I am going to protect everything with my frost covers--I think we have a few more weeks before we have to worry about frost. We will probably be running the AC at Thanksgiving.

Sounds like you are very prepared, which is good! Remember they are cut and come again, so don't harvest the entire plant. You will be amazed at how fast they grow and how much you can harvest.
