I am truly grateful to provide a platform where my guests and fellow survivors can share their stories with both vulnerability and humor that help showcase their strengths after surviving traumatic events and toxic relationships.
Understanding the link between childhood trauma and crime has been transformative for me. It’s a privilege to help educate others striving to live their best lives. Life throws us all curveballs, but it’s about how we handle them that matters. This podcast has allowed me to witness beautiful transformations in my guests, listeners, and myself. So, let’s break down stigmas, share wisdom, and explore the growth process together. I am on this journey with you every step of the way!
You have a message that someone in this world needs to hear!

The Sinister Legacy of The Candyman | A Halloween Horror Story
The Sinister Legacy of The Candyman | A Halloween Horror Story
Join me this week as I uncover the chilling story of Ronald Clark O'Brien, infamously known as the Candyman, whose heinous act on Halloween night in 1974 cast a dark shadow over the holiday.
Dive into the haunting details of how a seemingly ordinary family man and church deacon from Deer Park, Texas, turned into a murderer, using potassium cyanide-laced pixie sticks as his weapon of choice. Discover how his sinister plot unfolded during a night of innocent trick-or-treating with his children and neighbors.
The investigation led by former county prosecutor Mike Hinton, revealed O'Brien's financial desperation and calculated plan to claim life insurance money by poisoning his own son. Learn about the crucial clues that pointed to O'Brien's guilt, including suspicious questions about poison and failed attempts to purchase cyanide.
This episode highlights the tragic impact of O'Brien's actions on his family and community and the lingering fear it instilled in Halloween celebrations.
Stay safe this Halloween by being vigilant and cautious with your treats. The story of the Candyman is a sobering reminder of the potential dangers that can hide in plain sight.

psycho babble bullshit. Don't EVER post again!
I saw this episode of Unsolved Mysteries when I was a teen in northern New England, where I had grown up. She reminded me of me and many women I grew up around. Most crime stories didn't affect me because most were either acquaintance crimes or urban crimes so I did not see myself as being that vulnerable. This story changed my mind. I'm SO grateful to know that she's hosting a podcast and is working for survivors rights. She made an impression on me way back then. Thank you for sharing her terrifying but amazing story. She's one strong New England woman!
Oh wow!! I am sure she would love to know that she played a role in changing your mind in such an important way. Yes, she is a badass! Thank you so much for listening!!
Hairline left quickly.. 😂
Wow, what a story. I am glad you survived and your miracle baby❤. You were not only victimized by psycho killer and them to have people who go out of their way to victim shame, thats just hateful. You are a strong 💪 woman. Thanks for sharing your story 😊
@@sarahsweitzer7483 so sad isn’t it? People have zero respect or shame
This would be an interesting story if we knew more.

I'm going out today cannot wait to go
I got a meeting next week really good
He recently passed away while still in state custody.
Good to know!! He was evil
The thing is that we don't really know if it was the killer that came up to her because he came up to her with a story about his girlfriend. He kind back up and let her go into she talk about her windshield. The killer would of probably kill her at the time he got the chances but he didn't. He got in his car and that's when she should of left.I mean I could be wrong but that just my view.
You are right we do not know for sure if it was the same killer, but he did fit the description and location.
Yea, but at least we are trying to find him Do you have any more news about this case ? I heard they were doing a search warrant in a house over NH like 2 months ago
Yes! They searched a home in Newport but are not releasing why or if anything was found. Two of the unsolved cases have ties to Newport.
@@truecrimeconnectionspodcast Can't wait to see what they find !
Me too!!!
A lot of serial killers start taking 'responsibility' for killings that they didn't do. As if it's a competition in prison. They tell the cops that they'll take them to the bodies, just so they get a day out of their cells
You are correct. I have seen this happen a few times!!
Woahhhhh. Now imagine the flip side with all the dudes going through all this bs and they just keep it pushing instead of complaining😂. Like fr imagine complaining about a job you wanted to work at and bitch about a shitty partner you chose😂😂😂
@@joshuawilm6421 Oh this shit definitely goes both ways. Women can be crazy too 😂😎
Stay home a be a wife then you wouldnt be having the issues.
The world out there have zero awareness of narcissistic abuse. The people I trusted most are exactly who caused the most secondary trauma for not believing me and perpetuating the smear campaign.
This is why it is so important to bring awareness to this type of abuse!
TRUTH ❤
Yes!!!
IF THEY (YOUR ABUSER) COULD CHANGE THEY WOULD HAVE ALREADY. THEY KNOW AND KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE AND ARE DOING. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 🙏 DON T LIE TO YOURSELF OR KID YOURSELF. THEY (YOUR ABUSER) KNOW &THEY HAVE KNOWN WHAT THEY WERE& ARE DOING. PLEASE JUST LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE.
Absolutely!! The problem is that they don’t want to change.
God bless you, and just keep living your best life.
Thank you for listening 🙂
Vigilantes are true warriors.
Yes, I agree!!
It was very helpful video for me, thanks a lot
I'm so happy to hear that!!
Sorry. But hell no. "Perfection is not attainable but if you chase perfection you achieve excellence." You shouldn't love yourself. You should believe you suck because that means you desire to change into something better that puts your old achievements to shame. You should understand that failure is a part of the process and is the only way you can know you are pushing yourself to your limit and, when you achieve success in spite of failure, that you are progressing towards your goals.
They watch people like you limit yourself. Those who think they can change the world are the ones that do. Try teaching that!
Failure is definitely part of the process. No one NEVER fails...... it's part of the growth.
That's right! Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world...... do!
She is so correct in saying people rush you through grief - there is no such thing as time heals. Time doesn't heal, you just learn to cope better with the loss. Not matter what happens, the loss never truely leaves you
I absolutely agree with you!!
God I’ve never heard it like this before but that’s SO me, especially with older types who do “ball busting” jokes and get irritated at me when I don’t catch on right away. Then have to double back from my confusion like “Oh, sorry, you were joking.”
Totally get it!!!
This story is fucked, but thank you for sharing it with us. You inspire strength and peace i feel like.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for sharing!❤

Most abusive relationships are from woman who abuse their husband's and boyfriends
Abuse can happen to anyone.
@truecrimeconnectionspodcast yes it can and does but studies have shown when it comes to abuse between straight and same sex couples with woman that woman are the aggressors the majority of time.
