Are you selling just the hardware? Don't need a box of 50 and my local Ace Hardware doesn't carry M5 bolts at 6mm nor any with that head type.
thanx very much. I'm still debating if I want to build one, or buy the display case by legendary displays. The statues I want to display were made for developers and are simply not replaceable. The more live builds I watch the more confident I think I'll be.
Just and amazing video, collection and display. Thank you. Guys regarding the acrylic bottom shelves, did @onesixth_syndicate wrap the edges in vinyl tape? Thanks in advance and hopping to see onesixth_syndicate new room , and his shares on new building tips 👍🏽
The link for the acryllic sheet is missing. Also do you have any sort of cost breakdown, or approx total cost with/without lights? Thanks, great video :)
I didn't add a link because you can get acrylic cheaper from a place that specializes in acrylic or home depot over Amazon. You can search acrylic sheets near me and use the map to find a place near you. The cost of the case when I built it was about $195 but that was over 2 years ago. Cost will depend on where you live. Especially for the aluminum and acrylic. I also have made updates to the way I make this case through my live streams. I plan on doing a proper update at some point. Thanks so much for watching! If you have any other question, please feel free to ask. I'm happy to help.
I got to see NIN in concert back in late 2005. Great show. I didn't know they were touring again. I'll have to look into that!
That's awesome! The first time I saw them was 1994. I'm old. Lol. Thanks for watching!
What did you use for the magnets in the aluminum and acrylic sheet? Unless I missed it
Hello! You didn't miss it. This was one of a few lives streams for this case. The magnets and process I used are in the live stream below starting at 11:37 th-cam.com/users/livehKdJq1qggCQ Let me know if you have questions. Thanks for watching!
this looks longer than 1 meter.
This one is 1230mm long. Thanks so much for watching!
@@PopCultureLivingRoom sweet. I'm going to make mine 4 feet as well, hopefully by using kleets on bothe the entire top bottom and one side I should be good
The batman standing in front of the BM is an iconic look
Heck yeah it is Cat!
i wanna make one thats 4ft long if i utilize every stud possible do you think it would be ok?
could I also put a clear on the bottom extrusion as well, just to be extra safe.
I made a 4ft long hanging case. Check it out here: th-cam.com/users/livehKdJq1qggCQ?feature=share th-cam.com/users/livep_6GnTGBxSk?feature=share th-cam.com/users/liveEn5jNwTcoBc?feature=share I am going to go over it again in detail this Saturday on my live stream.
You definitely can double cleat. Thanks again for watching!
@@PopCultureLivingRoom thanx so much
DOPE__DOPE___DOPE!!!
LOVE YOUR DISPLAY CASES (BUT ACRYLIC IS STILL SUPER EXPENSIVE)
Hi Randy! Thanks for watching. I use a place near me that specializes in plastics which includes acrylic. For this case, it cost me about $70 for the acrylic. The price depends on where you live and what types of places you buy the acrylic from. Here in the US, I don't believe we produce acrylic sheets so the price may be going up due to politics. This will affect a lot of companies including case manufacturers.
PERFECT TIMING ! EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!!!
Awesome! I love these. I even embedded lights under them. You can catch that tutorial on this livestream starting at 23:55. th-cam.com/users/livelIi07boFgIw If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this review, just got a great deal on her a few minutes ago!
That's awesome! Congrats! I really like her. Thanks for watching Winman!
Hi pop culture, Just built the garage shelf. For the shelves, can we paint with black primer as the alternative for the black faux leather? 2:20:57
Hi! You can definitely paint your shelves. My videos and live streams are a template. You can make any customization that you like. I have had subscribers paint their shelves and they turned out great. I'm here if you have anymore questions. Thanks so much for watching!
@PopCultureLivingRoom many thanks mate
is there an alternative to the acrylic sheets?
The only alternative would be glass but I wouldn't recommend that.
@@PopCultureLivingRoom ok thank you!
The shade on Mcfarlane is relentless. I honestly don’t mind his work
There's definitely shade given to McFarlane. For me the issue with McFarlane figures is that they aren't as posable as others or as poseable as I would like. I still by them though. I recently got the McFarlane Toys Joker Mobile for Christmas. Do you have any McFarlane figures? Thanks so much for watching!
I received my first Muscle Rack today.
Awesome Moose! I'm here if you need me.
Can't wait for the Joker😁
Which version of the Joker did you get? Sculpted or Artisan? Thanks so much for watching!
Guess you missed the memo about Young Barry (3:12) being cancelled by Hot Toys, otherwise good vid.
Dang it! I removed Sakarian Iron Man but forgot about him. Oh well. I'll make a note in the description. Thanks for the catch and thanks for watching!
Awesome Video Costa! I love it and the Masterpiece Transformers!
Thank you so much!
I’m going to go with glass for my shelves.
That's a great choice. Thanks for watching!
That’s from Temu! 😂
Starting mine tmrrw. I love your vids. I’ve learned a lot & you boosted my confidence level. Just notice motive that you’re live. Keep up the momentum & motivation!❤
Thank you so much! If you have any questions when you're building your display, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I'd love to help.
May have to get that Droideka -- and of course the Mark 42
Great choices! Droideka is on my list
Very Impressive sir thank you for sharing such a detailed diy project. Just got into printing 3D figures and in doing so I have come to the conclusion I need shelves or cabinets and this instructional video has got me thinking also outside the box. 👍👍👍
That's amazing! I'm so happy I could help. Thank you so much for watching! If you have any questions at any time, please feel free to reach out to me.
Do you have any idea what the maximum safe length the floating shelves can be without risk of failure?
Hello! I am not sure how much longer you can go with the floating shelves without needing center support. I thin you can go a little longer but not by much. I would also move from a 3 inch T-Bracket to a 5 Inch T-Bracket. It's longer and slightly thicker to hold more weight. Thank you so much for watching!
@PopCultureLivingRoom that's disappointing. My shelf is 210 cm long without any central supports
Would there be anything you could suggest to do it?
How wide is the shelf going to be?
@@PopCultureLivingRoom I'm planning for 3 floating shelves 1 being 20cm wide and 2 that are 24cm wide.
Hot Toys - Super Girl is looking good. Looking better than the original proto. One of my figures of 2024 is Hot Toys She-HULK
Hi! I'm happy that Hot Toys updated Supergirl's head sculpt. It's so much better. Congrats on She-Hulk. She looks awesome! Thanks for watching!
Hi pop culture, just want to confirm do we cover the top n bottom of the shelve board with faux leather? In Ur video U only cover the top. Thanks
Hi! I only cover the top of the shelves because I use a fiberboard panel to lay under them so you won't see the bottom of the shelf in your display. Since you won't see the bottom of the shelf in your display case, you won't need to cover the bottom side. I hope that helps. I can't wait to check out your display when you're finished. Thanks so much for watching!
@@PopCultureLivingRoom Ok got it. Thanks for your help.
@SouZa_084 you're welcome!
Blink bro…
Thanks for watching! 😉
This is awesome. I’m about to build mine. Thank you for ALL the pointers. Thanks & wish me well!
Thank you so much! That's great that your going to start your build. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions. Good luck! You got this!
Good stuff seeing your process. Another option might be Plastidip. Would be pretty much the same prep, but is a bit of a different texture, is durable and super easy to touch up if it gets nicked somehow, and maybe the biggest benefit is you can just peel it off and redo it if your setup changes. Like if you do a horizontal strip on the front of large shelves where the shelves are and later decide to adjust shelf height. Just an idea. Keep the videos coming!
Thank you so much! I am definitely going to check out Plastidip. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the support.
sound is broken
In the beginning the sound was bad. It got fixed around the time I started the live build. I will make sure that there is no problems next week. I do apologize.
Very cool. I saw you using this on a stream a month or so ago, and it made me go to my local store and get something cheap, but similar. It really helps when i'm trying to paint 3d printed items. Thanks for the great idea. Merry X-Mas friend.
That's awesome! The helping hands are super helpful. Lol. And you definitely don't need one as fancy as the one in the video. You need to send me some pics of your 3D printed stuff. I'd love to see it. Thanks for watching Winman!
@@PopCultureLivingRoom I'll send you some today, mostly printing things to use with my figure collection. It's fun.
I gotta tell ya man, I love what you're doing and you've helped a ton of people and channel content is good, but damn your audio situation needs some attention lol. Also, SK6812 ain't that great for white, take a look at WS2805 or WS2815. They're still not bright enough for display cases in LED channel IMO though, when used with white only. Analog white is where its at for brightness.
Thanks so much. I have to do a better job of checking my audio before the stream. We got it fixed on this one. Lol. I have only used the SK6812 LEDs in my Grail Atlas Case. I wouldn't use them for a larger case or one of the basic Grail Cases. I haven't tried the WS2805 or WS 2815. I have the WS 2814s at 24 volts. I will have to look up and try those others. Thanks for the info. And thank you for being a part of the channel. I appreciate it. Edit: I just went back and rewatched the stream and The sound was good for a little bit and then it went back to bed. I may need to buy a new XLR cable for the mic. I will do better.
Thanks for having me on! I always have so much fun on Points of Articulation.
Thank you for being on the show!
Pimp for a trooper😂
new to this channel. Thinking of building my first display cabinet .The aryclic sheets you use is 1/2 inches in metric that's 12.7mm / 1.27cm . is that correct? Seems thick. Can i use thinner sheets say 5mm ? Thanks
Hello! The 1/2 inch thick acrylic sheet is if you want to make the acrylic into a shelf. For the outside of the display case, I use 3/32" or about 2mm thick acrylic for the front panels and 1/16" or about 1.5mm for the side panel. Here is the video on the acrylic panels: th-cam.com/video/coiCDrcucgU/w-d-xo.html Thank you so much for watching and do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have more questions.
@PopCultureLivingRoom Many thanks for your response.

@SouZa_084 anytime!
I bought used glass display shelves.. they have heavy mineral deposits due to being outside in the rain.. how can i remove them? Ive tried vinegar and clr but there still there any tips?
Hello! Thanks for watching. Try CLR. It made for removing hard water deposits. It may help. CLR: amzn.to/3BxQGzo
Can I use a covered post frame for a similar shelving unit instead? This would hide the notch holes, and I wouldn’t need to use black tape on the acrylic.
Are you talking about a garage shelf like the one below? www.homedepot.com/p/LISSIMO-63-H-x-34-W-x-18-D-Garage-Shelving-5-Tier-Metal-Garage-Storage-Shelves-Adjustable-Shelves-for-Garage-Basement-RDBZW2022113B/325673408 If so, yes you can use it. My second garage shelf is this type of shelf. Thanks so much for watching!
@ yes, it's similar to that. Are there any advantages or disadvantages compared to the shelving shown in this video, where the notches aren’t covered, and you have to tape the panels to hide them?
@@PopCultureLivingRoom Also, do you have any tips for working with that kind of shelving that I could use for my very first project? I appreciate all the help-you’re absolutely brilliant!
The only thing I would do differently is I would countersink the timber so that the screw head is below the top for a flat finish just my ocd
Can I ask why you made the back two extrusions 2040 not 2020
Hi! The 2040 is mainly used to help with hiding the cable for the light. Thanks so much for watching!
A heat gun will help with the air bubbles.
Great tip for air bubbles! Thank you!
I'm having issues with the magnetic tape actuslly holding the acrylic in place in certain spots. I didn't hsve this issue when it was just the tape ans no foam. Also not sure how it's supposed to hold when the foam is 1/4 and the tape stacked only amounts to 1/8.
Hello. Sorry to hear that. Could you take some pictures of it and send it to popculturelivingroom@gmail.com so I can take a look at it? This will help me give you a better answer.
