Houston Rockets' 1995 NBA Finals Starting Lineups Intro #25thAnniversary #DoubleClutch
This was from Game 4 of the 1995 NBA Finals, the night when the Houston Rockets swept the Orlando Magic to win their 2nd NBA Title.
A 6th seed in the West defeated the 1st seed in the East. This team went through a lot: struggled in the regular season, traded for Clyde Drexler, faced elimination 5 times in the playoffs, and came back from a 3-1 deficit, but they turned around, fought hard, and left amazing moments in NBA history. Since 1995, we’ve gotten very close, but fell short (1997, 2015, 2018). It would be great to see the Rockets finally win that 3rd overdue championship very soon. The NBA is coming back next month. We believe in you, Rockets!
By the way, this was the night when legendary Rockets Head Coach (1992-2003), former NBA All-Star (the mid-1970s to early 1990s), head coach of the 2000 USA Olympic Team, and upcoming 2020 Basketball Hall of Famer Rudy Tomjanovich said his famous line “Don’t ever underestimate the heart of a champion."
Fun Fact:
When the Rockets were NBA Champions, they used to troll the visiting team. For instance, for Game 3, the Rockets made fun of the Orlando Magic with “It’s A Small World” since Walt Disney World is located in Orlando. While for Game 4, with the Magic down 0-3 in the series, the Rockets mocked them with “Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie.
Game 4 took place on Wednesday, June 14, 1995. Games 1 and 2 were played at the Orlando Arena (later Amway Arena until it was closed and imploded), while Games 3 and 4 were played at the Summit (later Compaq Center and now, the Lakewood Church) in Houston, Texas.
The Public Address Announcer was Matt Thomas (1993-1996 and 2016-present).
Songs in this Video:
1) “Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie
2) “Last Train to Trancentral” by The KLF (The laser presentation)
3) “U Got 2 Know” by Cappella (the famous Houston Rockets intro)
The NBA on NBC play-by-play announcers were Marv Albert, Matt Guokas, and sideline reporters were Ahmad Rashād and Hannah Storm. One of the Sky Sports commentators was Rockets legend and Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy.
All footage and audio are owned by the National Basketball Association (NBA), Houston Rockets, the National Broadcasting Company (NBC), NBCUniversal, NBC Sports, Sky Sports, and DSF.

[PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION] This was from Game 3 of the 1995 NBA Finals, AKA the night that Robert Horry became "Big Shot Rob." With less than 2 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter, Robert Horry blocks Magic guard Dennis Scott, and then as Horry began to sprint, Hakeem Olajuwon then recovers and chess passes the ball, which results in Horry's fast break dunk. It was this game in which Hakeem Olajuwon blocked Knicks guard John Starks' attempt to win the title and force a Game 7, where Houston would go on to win their first NBA Title. In my opinion, I don't know why the Rockets changed their intro to the Alan Parsons Project’ “Sirius,” which is famously known as th...

Not the most impressive Rockets championship that would be 1994. But 1995 was the best championship for the culture of the Franchise.

I agree with you. While other teams have used it for their own, "Sirius" is the Chicago Bulls' theme song. As for the Rockets, they only used "Sirius" for this NBA Finals. They actually had another intro for the 1994 Playoffs, which is shown in this video, th-cam.com/video/I2PxbfsrKWM/w-d-xo.html -The drum roll and the song (excluding the NASA countdown audio) are from "Tribal Dance" by 2 Unlimited. This intro probably laid the foundation for how the Rockets would use Cappella's "U Got 2 Know" for the 1994-95 season and so on until the 2002-03 season when Yao Ming arrived. Now, why did change their starting lineups intro to "Sirius"? I believe that the Rockets wanted to "intimidate" the Knicks since the Knicks always ran into the Bulls in the playoffs for 4 consecutive seasons (1991 to 1994 and later on, 1996).
