You will need to thin the paint down for airbrushing until the paint is a "milky" consistency. Straight from the bottle is too thick. Any paint can be airbrushed if thinned properly.

I used sms raspberry and strawberry red over black for the reds, for the mettalics i used gaia duralluminium, star bright gold and gunmetal. I topcoated with 2k urathane for that super gloss finish. Thank you!

It is installed in the back of the upper leg and allows the panel to push inwards to allow for the deep knee bend.

You could possibly use joint guard to thicken up the connection and add more friction

It may be a case by case basis too. I ended up just using joint guard to thicken my connection

Surfacer can be ready for more layers within 10 to 20 minutes, usually if you use thin layers as recommended. If you want it to fully cure before adding color, I suggest letting it sit overnight at least 8 hrs. Lacquers dry super fast, which means usually you are able to continue painting quickly.

Yes, that is a bummer, but there are so many other versions of the liger that do have that armor.

Not too harsh honestly, of course, they are still lacquer, so I highly suggest a respirator so to not to smell them, lol.

I don't think so as the inner frames do differ between the 2 expecially in the torso area.

I would check usagundamstore there are a lot of metal part selections. I know you can find the thrusters for sure. Also you can maybe use metal rod and just modify the plastic part with those.

The frame is plastic but the kit does use metal detail parts and such. It's an amazing kit for sure! Metalbuilds aren't kits they are figures.

The main primers (surfacers) I use in my builds are mr surfacer, gaia evo surfacer, sms surfacer and nazca surafcer. It depends on the build and what paints I am using.

That depends on a few things....are you painting? Are you painting a gloss or mettalic finish? Do you still see the sanding scratches after priming? If you are doing a flat finish and you can get the surface smooth after priming, then 800 is fine, but if you are doing a mettalic or gloss finish, 1000~2000 will give you a better results. Of course, if you are not painting, you definitely want a higher grit.

@@GunplaJoey I'm planning to do a gloss finish since I only have the gloss topcoat but one day I'll get the flat topcoat for normal colors, but yeah I might need to get 1000 grit for a smooth finish, from what I understand is that from 200-400-800 it might show big scratches going down and then after using the higher number grits like 1000-1200 it shows very less scratches because it's small enough to not see the scratches right? I've never used sanding sticks before but I'm trying to learn about it for custom painting

So think of it like polishing a part. The higher in the grit you go the smoother and glossed the finish of the part even before paint will be. 200 is very rough and will leave big noticeable scratches but moving up the scale you will see less and less scratches and end up with a nice uniform surface. I suggest trying it out on plastic spoons to get the feel for it and then tackle nub removal and surface polishing. I hope this helps!

@@GunplaJoey thank you and yes it definitely helps, I actually have a alot of plastic spoons that I've been bringing back home for testing so I will definitely do that, I'd still have to get the other dspiae pack for the 1000 grits

Just an idea but you could probably do an exploded viewing using clear rods and such to keep areas exposed and still use all the parts
