May I ask, I struggle to see the prints light up, do you need to have graphics on a certain setting for tracking to work properly? Thank you for making this video very informative! Also can you track as an herbivore?
To make them shine bright blue you need to walk over a print that you found or a spot of blood and it will prompt "Q" you tap q and it will start following the persons prints/blood trail. In a pack you can see your packmates prints every so often you can practice with that, also no as herbi you can't follow tracks like carnis can but you can follow blood trails if you smell around.
instructions unclear: hacks now enabled
thx so much finally tracked smthn down,, killed a dibble as w a raptor pack but most died
@@SlugcatVR Haha GGs 🙏 that usually happens a lot with raptors ;_;
Good job mate!
these carnos were so fucking trashy lmao a carno main would’ve killed you sp easily
Nice fight!
🙏
what mutations do u reccomend?
On official servers I recommend Photo/Noct Gastro for run & trot speed also being faster means you will use less stamina which I like also gastro for after a battle to be able to recover and defend my meal. For unofficial like petits since they do not use meta muts like gastro photo/noct etc I would go with Congenital first personally I use hyperinanation second (less hunger = more damage) and hemomania (extra damage on a bleeding enemy) though depending on your playstyle use what suits you.
also do u hood left click while pouncing or right click
@@4kstunnaa against Dilos,Carnos,Ceras I normally hold left click but with bigger stuff it’s better to bleed it out with right click.
@@SunDog444 wait theres a difference? i thought the pounce was the same no matter what button you press
@@applejuicevr_1917 negative, Hold right click does double bleed what regular pouncing does at the cost or your stamina, Hold left click and it will bite causing up to 1000 dmg in total using a majority of your stamina if the enemy doesn't buck. For things that don't weigh more than a Carno I would use LMB, things like dibble use bleed. Each one has its own animation, LMB you visibly bite, RMB you will visibly scrape your talon along the enemy. Hope that helps
@ do you have to press rmb to pounce then hold lmb? Or can you pounce with lmb
You pounce mit RMB and then you are connected to the player. Once you are connected you dont need to hold RMB anymore. Then as the second step u can either hold LMB (pure Damage) or RMB (more bleed). You jump off with clicking space
what’s ur mutations gang
@@4kstunnaa depends on the server, officials I use photo/noct & gastro on petite I use congenital/less hunger=more dmg and hemomania

How about tracking footprints with body in mouth? For example with a deer. Once your mate starts chewing then prey within 5 meters from you.
Not sure what you mean, but if you carry a body around it will drop blood making you trackable also if you're tracking someone with food in your mouth you are able to be sniffed out and can be located or fled from. Walking around with food is like walking with a beacon on you.
whats that bew snekk wutg 2 eggs indicator?
Had to get my drunk translator, the two eggs are called a PZ or patrol zone also heard it called a personalized zone. Good for herbis useless for carnis
@SunDog444 caught :<
i wana spiro map more pvp this new map suck so much
West access is Spiro with extra bumps, I mean this is supposed to be a survival game but only has 3 survival aspects the rest is pvp.
I heard if the footprints don't show a direction (the cone) then it means the dinosaur is very near (likely hiding in a bush like what you saw)
Good info, I'll have to do some testing with it at some point to see if that's true
"how to use a spoon" ahh tutorial
i sqw him multiple times running
Thank you master Zenki for this video the added tribal music was the cherry on top
350 hours into the isle and only now learning how to correctly track, thank you homie
🙏
I feel dense as I kept wondering why I would randomly get ‘Q’ prompts on certain spots on the ground but didn’t really stop to investigate why 🤦♀️
Nicely done. In how many cases of 10 does it actually work out? Honest question.
@@danibot3000 8/10 I track them down it’s not often I lose their trail, sometimes I get too lazy to chase them down but normally it ends up like this with them burning out their stamina and I catch up with my full stamina to fight or chase more. When someone flees they normally don’t want to fight also I got like 4 head bites before the video turned on. If you be persistent you will get them.
@@SunDog444 Well that's good stuff then! I tried it a little yesterday when we chased a big Cera as a pack of Raptors and i got a few spots already!
great video 😉. Do you know how to kill boars with a baby dilo?
Tyty! Sorry, no I don't play Dilo enough to know how
Actual smart omni main? In this economy? No way!!!
incredible video. Thank you so much
Yo! Bro no way I found your channel by accident lmao I played with you a couple times when I was new to the game good shit gamer
This is a bs mechanic
Skill issue, it's somewhat u realistic where you can see it from afar but still makes sense
@@DasInf13 sorry I tracked you down 😂
@@SunDog444 pretty sure the guy who killed me was using cheats unless you can see through bushes after tracking for 10 mins
@@DasInf13 Thats not impossible, official server are full of cheaters. Gotta avoid them when possible.
So how exactly does the pattern change when the trace gets old?
@@blamasterk what I mean by pattern change is you can kinda tell what they are doing and why, if the prints are in a straight line they are just running away if it zig zags and goes into bushes and the prints close together they trying to hide more than likely. Eventually you can just see what they were doing in your mind and use intuition
bro mightt be a hound
Ngl..... I personally just needed to smell once, and then like any person who has tracked before and hunted. Just using your intuition is enough lol Afterall, we humans are easier to predict when running in the bushes than most animals. And ingame, its actually kinda scary how easy it is to track people using simple real hunting techniques. For animals (Depending on what you're hunting), look to the horizon. For people, and especially in this game. Look up and down. Down for tracks, up to hiding spots. I also thought that the tracking system was pretty straightforward quite honestly. Its like Hunter:Call of the Wild lol
@@Kogasengaha_Hishoshi most the time I use hunting techniques, you’re right since they’re people you have to hunt them similar to people as they don’t do pure animal behavior. But tracking in irl has its own clues and give always, I’ve tracked blood, prints, broken sticks, twigs, dung, and branches while hunting and following small signs along the way. That’s what this kinda reminds me of
cera is the best at tracking, some others are basically useless at tracking
Your an angel for making this man, i now know exactly why i never understood scent. When i sniffed footprints, i never sniffed the recent/newer prints. I always thought sniffing once on the prints was enough, but you gotta reset the timer with every footprint you find to keep track.
Correct thing for the carno to do shouldve been just Run across the entire map Because you can 100% do that as carno
bleed?
He was bleeding
Buen video bro
this day was epic fr
lmao im in the video
this is what I mean when I say I love the immersion of the isle. if you learn the mechanics you can thrive, and if you dont... usually you end up reviewing the game as garbage because you didnt adapt lol
🤣🤣 So real
goated video
how to setting? When I did it, the footprints came out white.
When you see the white footprint hit "Q" until it highlights
@SunDog444 But it's still white
@@KYUNG383 you have to only tap q once instead of hold it in order to make it highlight blue.
yes
İs I can do it too when I play legacy?
Legacy has a different tracking system which is much easier, the footprints highlight themselves as you sniff. This is specifically for Evrima.
THANKS! I have tried sooo many times to track but i never got it, thx this helps a lot
Does sneaking leave tracks?
@@nvender9062 Tbh not sure I’d have to test that out, I want to say yeah it does. When walking or running every so often it will drop traceable tracks so I assume sneaking would leave prints too.
@@SunDog444 the rate of traceable footprints left behind is dependent on two factors: weight and speed. The larger and faster you are moving, the more footprints you leave. The smaller and slower you are, less footprints. Crouching I think also negates footprints entirely, but that could be wrong, so don’t quote it. Either way, it’s possibly a complete negation, or a definite partial negation of footprints. You just need to actually make distance before attempting it, and you shouldn’t try at all if you’re still actively bleeding.
@@peasantkyr I second that it is better to make distance so they eventually loose your trail, though with smaller Dino’s their prints seem to behave the same just harder to initially track and find and a lot harder to keep up with. With larger Dino’s it’s very easy to find.
i think when you are covered in mud you do not create footprints, didnt test it, but heard about it a few times
@@Omen09 I've heard that too, possibly true. Ill have to test it one of these days, in legacy rain covered your blood and prints making you untraceable.
I tried they wont light up only sometimes does it work 🫤
3:30 the way this dino running reminds me of Take On Me by AHA 😂😂😂
ngl if i was that carno i wouldve safe logged😂
@@gavsolid They tried to in the first bush on the beach 😂 but we were too quick
a good strategy would have been to waste all the stamina and go in a straight line, to make sure that you go the max speed, then, if you're lucky, you'd have made enough distance to safelog
@@Mayl0-YT right
Excellent! Now as a new player I feel less new 🤪
@@casualgamexp 🙏
each carnivore has a different tracking lenght, for example Cera can smell tracks more far than carno
@@zyzz_LG Ah makes sense, when playing cera the prints seemed to stay longer than on raptor or other carnis; Haven’t tried too much tracking on Dilo.
Ohhh make sense. Because I couldn't understand how in the video he could find them so easily.
For years I didn’t understand how to track down dinosaurs until I saw this damn video, this is exactly what I needed
This is why we the game needs tips/tutorials Because i never understood scent either, i knew what the icons meant, and how to track blood trails but footprints we’re always a weird one.
@@wietse9673 To be frank, the tracking system changed over the years and dependent how long you have played you witnessed it being so inefficient that you learned to play without it for the longest time without ever getting back on trying it. Seeing this video motivates me to give it a proper try again.
@@Chareidos I’ve been playing since the beginning of the end for the progression system and the Region 2 map, but ever since Evrima introduced the newer scent system i’ve had my difficulties in understanding it. And it mostly had to do with me trying to follow footprints, but then never seeing the follow up prints right after.
@@wietse9673 I remember those times... but I think the iterations within Legacy were rather easy in comparison to many of evrimas iterations, as far as i can remember. In Evrima it only highlights a few and it is not always easy seeing those through foliage. I failed with it too, but I rarely had the occasion to track down anybody to get gud at it, since I mostly ambush or had prey fighting back and in general have no struggle finding someone going in the open. :)
@Chareidos Legacy was indeed so very different, footprint scents we’re just giant piles of yellow smoke, and besides that the only other things you could smell we’re carcasses and bodies of water. And with evrima, as you pointed out another major difficulty is foliage blocking the visibility of footprint scents.
so its like call of the wild but you gotta sniff it out lmao
after all this time i finally understand the tracking mechanic
