    Hi I joined Charlbury Angling Club and have tried several sessions on various stretches but to be honest I'm really struggling so far, all the places I've been to are heavily overgrown with weeds and nettles over 6ft tall, I can't get close to the Evenlode. I've been to the stretch by the bridge at Finstock/Fawler, I went to the bridge and stretches on the Charlbury to Chadlington road and have also tried by Charlbury Cricket Club, all those stretches are basically inaccessible with heavy and dense vegetation/bushes/tress. I've yet to try the Chilson Road Bridge and the stretch from Ashford Mill to Stonesfield. Have you got any advice for me regarding the Evenlode?

      @@andrewhopwood500 I’ve had most of my best fish from Ashford Mill to Stonesfield. Stonesfield Common has some accessible swims. Have a good look in the autumn when the nettles die back and you’ll get an idea of which nettles are worth battling through. My best pike was after a painful journey through hawthorn bushes.

    Nice paint job but they look to be painted in early war colours while carrying late war stuff. Is it just rule of cool? New to this system and trying to get a feel for how people play. I watched a British force that combined 8th Army Africa with late war Euro kit. So it doesn't seem to be particularly period relevant.

    Hello. I'm in Witney and am thinking of taking up angling. I'm interested in river/stream fishing for predator species using lures. One thing that I'm struggling to understand is who's permission do I need to fish some of our local rivers such as the Windrush, Evenlode, Glyme, Cherwell and their tributary streams and a little further afield to the West on the Dikler, Eye, Sherbourne, Leach etc. How do you go about trying to find out who has the relevant permissions/rights for these waterways ?

    • @wychwoodmcduff7957
      @wychwoodmcduff7957 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Welcome to this wonderful sport. You’re best bet is asking your local tackle shop. If you’re in Witney, there’s a great tackle shop at Tower Hill called States. The guys in there are friendly and knowledgeable. You can fish for free from where the Windrush splits to the mill near Sainsburys in Witney. I’m a member of Charlbury Angling Club, which gives me access to stretches of the Evenlode, Cherwell and Thames. For great advice on lure fishing, check out Fishing Tutorials, The Ginger Fisherman and Snagged Bro on TH-cam. Tight lines and hope to see you on the bank. 👍

      @@wychwoodmcduff7957 Thanks mate. It's the videos from Ginger Fisherman, Adventure Fishing UK and Fishing Tutorials that have got me interested but have always wondered how they all manage to roam around so freely at different locations and then applying that to the waterways we have available here in West/North Oxfordshire.

    Gorgeous job on those mini's !!! A few months ago, my wife and I bought Talisman, and we wanted to paint our minis as well, so I found your video with the Warrior, Wizard, Thief, etc. and in the comment section you mentioned that you used the "Army Painter Starter Kit" , well, we went out and bought that kit, thanks to your suggestion. I've just finished my mini's recently and played a great game with them and our friends. So I wanted to thank you for your tutorial, advice and video. So "Thank You" 💖 I followed your steps, and I am more than happy with the finished mini's! Our friends are amazed that I painted them so well, they spent nearly 30 minutes looking at them all and praising my work. And some of that is in thanks to you, my friend. But in the end, I chose to remove mine from their standard bases, and then glue them onto 28.5 mm Citadel bases. I wanted to do this for 2 reasons... 1) I found some characters (Ogre Chieftain especially, and the Dread, Black, and Chivalry Knights) didn't balance or stand too well on their own bases. 2) I wanted to finish the bases like I would a Warhammer character. (As you did as well, but perhaps with a little more custom or lore-friendly scenery) So I've used Army Painter "Brown Battleground" , sprinkled with "Battlefield Grass Green" , and added 1 or 2 "Jungle Tufts" , then (depending on the Character) used some tiny pebbles (which vary in colour) from my driveway lol , some tiny pieces of torn-up cork from a wine bottle we finished the other night , and some crushed Coral from the beach to use as little highlights on each base. I was even able to cut super tiny little "gold coins" from some left-over Gold ribbon form Xmas wrapping lol , and put a few "coins" at the feet of my Mistral and Thief characters (as seen in the artwork of their Character Cards). I tried to make each characters base match their own sense of immersion , while also keeping as close to the original artwork as possible ,with some creative liberties allowed here and there, of course. For example, the Sorceress is now standing in the center of 6 tiny white rocks like a 'summoning circle' , and the Prophetess has a knee-high piece of real Amethyst I broke off an old Amethyst rock ornament in the house lol, the Dread Knight has a couple skulls at the horse's feet, as does the Ghoul surrounding his gravestone. We had a blast painting and customizing each characters base this last 2 months, and now playing with them brings even more joy. Honestly, seeing our friends reaction to them was the best part of it all. Again, thank you for your videos about your own Talisman characters, as they put us on this road, which we finally completed (for now, until we buy yet another expansion pack, lol) Wopida Tanka. Mitakuye Oyasin. 💖 <- A little Native American 'Thank You' from Canada. (Feel free to look up the meaning if you're interested. It is in my Dakota language) Sorry, for the long story, I just thought I'd share, as you were kind enough to share with us in your videos.

      Did you find your late war Germans. They have two variations both listed as Heer Wehrmacht, summer and winter kit.

    Thanks for the video, very instructive. You could do with a better video camera though. Some proper close ups would help enormously. Can't really see are what you doing with clarity. I assume you are using a camera phone, hence the 'boxy' frame and lack of detail. Picture and figures rather dark to. Great to seethe process you used though.

      Thanks for the constructive comments. I'll see if I can get a few more close ups next time however funds probably won't allow a better camera.
