Fun video! I’ve had a potted wisteria for two years, got it at 4’, it’s nearly 6’ and a nice shape so and I need to get on a better pruning schedule! Repotting this spring too I’m curious to see what the roots look like.

Habe eine Junge Pflanze also dieses Jahr erst gekauft und möchte diese als Stamm ziehen also starker Ast und oben die Krone. Würdest du dann sagen das ich auch schon bei so einer jungen pflanze wo noch nicht viel grün ist alles so abtrennen sollte ? Die Frage bezieht sich auch eher auf den Haupttrieb der viele Grüne Blättriege triebe hat, ob die jetzt dann schon alle ab sollen damit nur noch der Haupttrieb bleibt ?

Hello! thank you so much for this informative video. I have gotten a bit muddled about pruning season, I read cherries where supposed to grow on new growth so it's best to prune them straight after picking last years cherries. Does it depend on the type? or is their a benefit / risk to avoid?

Watched quite a few of your videos, you put a lot of time and presentation into your garden and video, amazing dedication. Especially considering the fact you have a steep slope on a section of your garden.

My house is brick, but I was planning on planting mine on my fence because I thought it would be invasive on the brick. Does it not damage brick buildings like other invasive vines?

Thank you so much for explaining this process. My mother in law gave me seeds from her wisteria 2 years ago and getting them to sprout was a process in itself. I planted them along my fence after having sprouted them and then grew them in a pot for a year. They are now maybe 6 inches tall. They will get there I hope but I was unaware just how much time goes into growing them from seed. I ended up finding two mature potted gals and I’m trying to learn how to treat them. They are trained around a couple of rods. If I’m planting them into the ground do I plant with the rods and let them be until late summer or do I need to train right away? All the videos I’m finding are pruning of a 10 year old or older. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to take care of the (maybe 3 year olds?) that I purchased and will be putting in the ground tomorrow. If you have any tips I would SO appreciate it.

you are messing with me about clock and counter clock, what ever. I hate to through plants away. I rode a bus to buy this Wisteria plant. I have moved it twice. I am in a small mobile home park. and yes I has shoots coming up. I am trying to find out how to contain it. I love the pup. I am going to try to put it in a container and control it. Thanks for sharing. Wisteria is absouluetely beautiful, but so invasive.
