Biking the Golden Gate Bridge 4K Timelapse
มุมมอง 97511 หลายเดือนก่อน
A vacation to San Francisco, good February weather, and the Go-City pass provided us an opportunity to rent bicycles from Blazing Saddles and ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. We rode from Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito and then took our bikes back on the Blue & Gold Ferry. (The ferry ticket was provided by Blazing Saddles beforehand). It made for a great day adventure! Adventures making maple syrup
มุมมอง 179ปีที่แล้ว
I decided to make a maple syrup evaporator out of a 55 gallon barrel. Stove kit came from Menards. Barrel came from facebook marketplace. While I did that, the nephews helped tap a sugar maple and a black maple in the back yard. After a shakedown burn, I realized I didn't have enough wood and decided to go with propane to boil. Next year barrel! Finished on the stove, and I was so tired, I bare...
Let's Build a Bird Feeding Station (Please check the description regarding HPAI and bird feeders!)
มุมมอง 17K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is a time-lapse build of a bird feeding station using a 4x4 post, a vinyl post sleeve and some metal pipe. Please note: We made this at a time when Highly Pathogenic Avian Flu (HPAI) was just starting to show up in the news. We are now following the recommendations from our state's Department of Natural Resources and have decided to remove the feeders. Please check your local and sta...

A stroll through Player's Club park in Delta Township, Michigan on September 11, 2021. This park used to be a golf course that has since reverted back to a more natural state. There is not much marking or signage for this park. There was a haziness to the sky due to some fire smoke as the sun was beginning to set. Find some relaxing music to listen to while you enjoy the hike! Shot on a DJI Poc...
PS4 // Stranded Deep // Finding Yucca Fruit
มุมมอง 1.7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Yucca makes fibrous leaves that are used in many things you will construct while playing stranded deep. It took me a while to realize that yucca trees have a fruit that you can plant in a farming plot. It takes a bit of precision with the ps4 controller to find the yucca fruit on wild yucca plants, but once you chop the leaves off, travel up the main stem with your controller until you find them.

paint the top first then put the hooks
Functionally, how does it compare to your previous feeder setup that can be seen in the video?
The previous feeder setup was not sturdy. If the soil was wet, or it was really windy, the weight of the feeders would pull it and it was often angled instead of straight. So the new feeder is certainly better in that regard. The previous feeder had a squirrel guard and it was nearly impossible for a squirrel to get up to the bird seed. The new one performs well, but it occasionally gets a squirrel up there. I dont really mind. I have the option to add additional hangers to the new post and it is easy to do where with the former, I was limited to what was there originally. We now have a feeder with mosaic glass that shines in thru our bay window. I wouldnt have had the confidence to put it up if I was using the former one.
Nice feeder station, I'm mostly intrigued by the vinyl sleeves effectiveness vs squirrels and raccoons. I have thought of similar design and wondered if will work, even thought of wiping the vinyl with grease or silicone. I have since decided the cost would prohibit the build if it's not effective so I decided to let folk build similar build and find out its effectiveness. I'm glad I found your channel, any update on it's effectiveness?
@@tastyfishsauce4410 We get a squirrel up on the feeders every so often. It is not squirrel-proof, but it isn’t often. I prefer the aesthetic of the vinyl post and I’ve come to terms with the fact that I may spend more money on seed because of it. Thank you for reaching out!
Bigger birds like blue jays like a platform station.
We recently put up a bird buddy camera feeder which has a platform.
Perfect! Coffee grounds do not break down in a septic system. Great solution!
Glad it was helpful!
Congrats..... This looks amazing!
Thank you! It was fun to build!
Thanks ❤
Love the feeder. So does the light actually work at night or just for aesthetics?
Yes the light works. It’s nice to see it on at night. It’s not bright, just a small solar powered light.
Just found your video. We are thinking of doing the same. Did it work? Are the squirrels deterred much?
We have had squirrels get up there, but it is not frequent. I’ve considered creating a tube section in the middle, and painting it, but it hasn’t been a big issue for us. Thanks for watching!
A little bit of grounds are actually good for your plumbing. Coffee grounds are acidic and can help break up some of the fats and other junk that can line your pipes. I tap on the basket like you do and put that on the garden but the rest I just rinse out. No problem.
Thank you for that information. I wasn’t aware of that!
Great 👍🏻
Thanks!
MY FATHER made one is about 12 feet tall couple of years ago with rail robes to pull the feeders down & up BUT is all made up with Metal, steel & cement inside & each arms like u is 4 is long with hooks built into it so u can hang 3 feeders on each arms, & is very deep in the ground even truck hit it would NOT fall down or get damaged ..urs is nice 2👍
Sounds impressive! Thanks for sharing!
Great video - thanks so much for posting this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
It might waste some paper but save some water and time to line the larger basket with a paper filter for easy emptying. What do you think?
That would be a good idea, thanks for sharing
Looks good
Thanks!

Absolutely beautiful
Thank you! 😊
How do you eat it ?
you can use the yucca to grow plants. Instead of eating it, it can provide you with other uses around your camp.
Tell us about how much the squirrels love it 😊
We have one squirrel that is smarter than the rest. We see him up there occasionally for a sunflower seed breakfast! Haha oh well.
So the white vinyl sleeve is touching the ground correct? You just? Did that trim around the bottom for a pure visual purpose ?
The sleeve does not touch the ground, rather it sits elevated off the ground resting on some spacers. It sits slightly behind the trim pieces which provided a cleaner looking edge visually and this way I didn’t need drill into the sleeve.
Not sure why but about 2 minutes into the video I said to myself "this gives me major UP vibes" just to finally open my eyes and see the t-shirt! Must be some subliminal messaging hey! Greetings from the Soo, might have to steal some ideas for my feeder pole this summer.
The UP is the best place on earth! Thank you for the note!
Great video!!
Thank you!
I like it Jeff. Have something similar. The vinyl pole is definitely a squirrel deterrent. But black oil sunflower seeds in a platform feeder, (like your blue house), brings in the grackles and starlings. After yrs of putting up with them, I just took down my platform feeder, and put up a screened tube feeder with thistle. Good luck.
Thanks! We certainly get our fair share of grackles!
it's beautiful, you did a great job, thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Excellent build and video. Im here watching vids for ideas on some bird feeder stations I need to build for our cats entertainment so appreciate your well documented process.
Glad I could help!
Wow! That was so fun to watch! You made it look easy and the finished product is fantastic! Well done!
Thank you for the nice compliment! It was a fun build :)
I don't get it ! Most all assembly could have Been done on a work bench . A PVC post and a few scrap sat. Tv dishes would have done this cheaper and kept the feed out of the rain.
And it wouldn't have looked nearly as good. He did a great job.
Thank you for doing this to save the planet, although it is quite tempting to just pay the 50c and put the disposable plastic in the garbage and be done with it. I also like that Have you tried the compostable pods?
I was unaware that compostable K-cups existed, thanks for sharing!
Agree. Thanks for saying so: the whole idea was to remove steps for making and dealing with coffee time - now there's way more extra steps! haha ....dammit
Thanks this helped me
Good idea! Thanks!
Looking good......so did that vinyl sleeve keep the squirrels off of it??
Thanks! We didn’t have a squirrel on it all summer, and I wish I could say that we have never had one, but we saw one this past October. Since then we haven’t seen one. So mostly squirrel proof! Of the squirrels that live around our house, it was the “smart” one..
Do the yuca fruits respawn on the natural yuca trees? So, can you get more than one fruit from the same tree?
It has been a while since I played the game, but I believe that they would respawn. Im not sure if updates to the game have changed since I played last.
Great video - quick question - on the mesh coffee filter (8-10 cup) how do you clean that? do you just tip it over in trash can and tap it out? thanks
The filter I use to catch the grounds that stick to the K-cups is tapped out directly over the trash can, or with smaller amounts of grounds, on to a folder paper towel or a secondary trash container. The mesh on that filter can start to clog up with regular use and drain slowly, so using some dish soap with a soft brush cleans it well. I would say I do that once a week or when I notice that the filter is draining more slowly. However, rereading your comment, I am not sure if you are referring to a different filter for a different Keurig model? If so, unfortunately I am not familiar with so of the other devices. Thank you for the question!
@@jeffschmidt207 Thanks
if you have plants or flowers outside they love those grounds..especially hydrangeas..put in the dirt
thanks, that is good to know!
When you cut the grown yucca down from your farm, does it come back? Or do you have to clear the farm and replant it? I keep waiting for mine to come back but they don’t grow unless I clear the plot and plant more yucca fruit. On ps4. Maybe I’m not waiting long enough. Seems like 3 in-game days go by and they still look dead.
I think you might need to wait longer. It would always return for me. Make sure that they are staying watered too!
@@jeffschmidt207 you were right! I just left them alone and went along doing other things and they eventually regrew. That’s awesome because there was always so much water leftover in the plot and clearing it then regrowing them gets rid of all the retained water
@@s.m.9963 The great thing about fibrous leaves from yucca is that you can use it to replace sticks for a fire as well as for your water stills...
Thanks for the question, I have been waiting to see if mine will regrow. They look dead and do NOT highlight as a yuca. It is as if the plot dried out and they died, but the plot has had water the entire time.
Thank u I didn't think yucca fruit was on console
Glad it helped you out!
Are those steel toe safety crocs???
Safety first… in my next video!
There was no dish soap, isn’t soap necessary?
I'll wash everything with soap occasionally, but it is not a daily occurrence.
should...residual oils will make coffee bitter
I use the mini filters to dump the coffee grounds in the trash….I like how you clean the top to prevent the grounds going in the sink…thanks.
lastpme which mini filters?
I like the idea of using the filters, I will need to try that out. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you sooooo much!!! Yes, this helps a lot and will prevent expensive clogs. Awesome demo!
I am glad you liked it!
Looks like an awesome trip!
