Really good highway bike definitely a should buy
Very nice video my friend! Thank you very much! I fixed it today, but I think I didn't press it properly, so it leaked again. I'll do it tomorrow following your tips.
I want to buy one like this but I feel afraid, is this bike goodor not? Because it is old, please can someone advise me?
It’s a very good bike great highway bike there is good as somebody takes care of it
Thank you VERY MUCH! It is the same part for my 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan vn1600a Classic. I was going crazy over at Partzilla diagrams. You are GREAT! Safe rides!
God it’s painful listening to your dumbass
Should get 40mpg
Not always there buddy. I found there is a straight head screw on that black round clutch cap. It had backed out and oil was leaking from there , not where you are saying . Ya there are 2 ways you get oil on your kickstand . Make sure you double check what I'm saying or you'll still have oil leaking.
Good video except for one facter...that dimple on the end of that rod faces OUT not in!! That flat end goes in first!!!
Can't thank you enough for your help .Danny Australia
I have a Vulcan 1500 classic with oil running down the kickstand I will give this fix a try, thank you for sharing.
same thing here with a 1995 Vulcan 1500
1:04 lol heel shifter isn't a rear brake idiot😂😂
What is the red circle thing just to the right of the slave cylinder?
Good video. Thanks. Mine just started leaking on my 2011 900 classic. Brake peddle, yes, I knew what he meant. No big deal, no need to get pissy about. Just a typo. 😂
Even he made a few mistakes people like me still get the job done and it is true parts dealers are very rude if you don't know the exact part#
Will this work on a 2008 vulcan nomad 1600?
Please learn how to use a camera. Otherwise great video.
Is the part number the same for 2004 kawasaki vulcan 1600 classic?
How much mpg do you get
Thanks mate for the part number. I got a 2007 Nomad. Having the same problem I went to the dealer; funny thing is that when they looked the diagram it did not showed up. Thanks to your help with the part number. I got the ghost seal and I'll be doing the job probably tomorrow. Thanks again. ( Sydney - Australia.)
Beautiful bike
I own a kawasaki vulcan drifter
I have had an oil leak described in the video for a while now, and I was a bit concerned about it. Cant afford dealer charges. Your video gave me the encouragement to try and do it myself. Ordered the part....same part works for 2005 nomad too. Got it today, went in the garage and did it! piece of cake, as you said. Felt real good about it. Will see if it worked in a day or two. Video was very helpful. Just a few things need to be corrected in the video as mentioned by your readers here....So, thanks again and I would suggest to people to do it themselves if they get this problem. You saved me at least a hundred dollars or maybe more, if the dealership is run by crooks.
If this message gets through to you or the kid, can you plz tell me if this part number would be the same for my 99 Vulcan nomad 1500. I'm from Minnesota and there is a Kawasaki shop in Stillwater. It's called northway sports. If you could please look it up and tell me a part number it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!! hope this gets through to you. Thx
Good post I recently purchased a 1997 1500 vulcan not a classic bit the same bike I assume. Mine leaves a few drips behind the kick stand is that the same problem? ??
Yes!
Thank you
you put people in the wrong. the rod must go in the other side, the hole at the end of the rod must go to the side of the clutch cylinder, I have the mechanical manual
I just pulled and reset my seal. The rod dimple was up against the slave cylinder and flat part against the clutch. There is a little bump on the slave cylinder face that mates into the rod dimple. My biggest fear with this was some piece inside falling out of alignment if I pulled the rod completely out. That is what I love about videos like yours. It is like practice surgery. You can see it done before you make mistakes. Thank you for the post.
I have a 2011 vulcan 900 don't look like that
You don’t have to replace the light assembly…the problem is the crimps on the LED’s. This assembly has no dynamic parts so the issue is the connections and crimps always give it up over time. Force a blade screw drive in the seam of the lens and give a small pry all aroung the lens going around and around prying more and more as you go and POP!! Notice the crimps on the LED’s. put solder paste on the crimp and flow solder on the joint (800 Degree soldering tip recommended). When the solder flows move on to the next LED…not the same one…let it cool. The white wire is + so stick straight pins in the connector and check on the car battery. It will work and if not, you have a cold solder joint so redo. There are no dynamic devices in this light so flow the solder and it will work. Seal the lens to the assembly by scraping RTV into the lens lip and the base when assembled. It will not take much so be cool. Good Luck Guys…I’ve done several this way…takes from start to finish about 45 minutes…just say cool and don’t force anything.
Sooo what's the link to your video?
I used rtv silicone to help hold that seal in.
You have a brake pedal on the left side of your Vulcan?
Right?
cool video Jason, my light still works but I think I'll mod it with the led strip. check out lxfourms and custom magnums websites for a vast knowledge base of repair and modification related to the entire lx / lc platform cars. take care...
Thanks man great idea. Been riding with just brake lights no third for the longest. One taillight went out and got a ticket...lol guess O will finally fix it..lol
same here
"better then spending 90". idk how much y'all are finding them for but I got One for 40 I think online, and the salvage yards here are kinda incompetent. But man this seems like a fair and probable fix. crazy how expensive it is, already a little hassle to change out as is.
holy crap, you're hilarious! I have an 06 mag and the 3rd light just went out. it's 2017 and still not much info out there, so you're the expert. a quick check online and it looked like the oem part is around during $65. might do something like you demonstrated.
thx this helped me out a lot. only thing is you have some shit on your back window. i would clean that shit off if i were you
Good job, explaining it to me. Thanks a lot I have a Dodge Mag as well. Bay you say.
What is the voltage at the plug?
I'll answer my own question. It's 12V.
hay dad good god
Well goddam.. put your fucking cigarette out.. ain't nobody gonna set thru you talking with it hanging out your mouth.. look like a dumbass..
You really did that project.. awesome saved me $107.00 Thanks Man.
