Modification of brackets to set fairing 3/4 “ lower and 3/4” back..addition of a headlight nacelle extension, removed upper turn signals and installed an external intake vent hose.

Old video but looking to get one. Did you reduce the wind buffering vs a standard wind screen? Seems wind comes up from around forks to create buffering too. Curious how accurate that is. A lot of cash to get it and be disappointed because wind issue remains. Also seriously only 5 minutes to take it off?

I just did the same thing to my Road King special. I’m not sure how to get the lights from the handlebars down to the forks like you did. I wish you could tell me there’s a simple way to do the wiring. I would appreciate any help you can give me thanks by the way nice bike, Tim

This is actually the Rosinville area, harleyville is about 7 miles up the road

Yes they are Roadglide Special bars .Purchased used on eBay
how tall are your handlebars?
Legit question : why didnt you get a sg or rg instead of adding all the features they already have stock?
My opinion is all these bikes need to be setup with plug and play everything regarding the farings.. o they can be removed with just a couple bolts.. and then all the electrical should be plug in…. Maybe have an extension harness for the extra length needed for the faring.. it definitely could be done… making everything easy to remove and upgrade
I have the same bike but a 2018. Where did you get the kit to relocate the front turn signals from bar to forks? I cant find them anywhere.
Just ordered mine with the olive gold paint, 4 speakers and amp! Pretty excited hope it’s worth it. Looks like a street glide to me

Just wondering why you picked up a road king instead of a street glide ?
I did not plan on buying the bike. I was out for a ride on an 80 degree day the week after Christmas. I stopped in an HD dealership just to stare at pretty bikes. There sat the Roadking Special..The numbers were good, so I took it home that day. I had not been on a bike without a fairing for about 11 years. Thought I would like the windshield by itself. I missed having a fairing. About 6 months into owning the bike, I put a fairing on it. My wife just purchased a 2022 Street Glide Special for herself. There is nothing on her fairing that I need. @@spokesanddreams3333 sure thanks for replying. I have a road king myself and considered adding the detachable fairing I love the sound of the vtwin dont really need music now not sure how much can be heard with a helmet and the exhaust I have on.

you did it right by moving it down and back👍 WAY proper looking. most I've seen looks like this big fairing sitting away and upright from the bike. love it bro! I gotta figure out to do it on my 99 fatboy.

If you take the headlight trim and rotate it 180 degrees with the fairing on you won’t see the crease. It will be less noticeable at the top with the fairing on.

What signals are they?
Street Glide turn signals.. purchased on line from Utah Harley. Truly a plug and play set up
Have the same fairing. I took it apart and plan to simply position the fairing on the brackets and re-mark and drill the holes to permit a lower and more tilted back profile. Is that what you did?

So you didn’t modify the bracket but drilled new holes in the fairing itself?
How is this fairing for the wind?
Nice RKS. My favorite of the Harley models. BTW an Indian would be nice. I own a 2019 Scout. Loads of fun. Plan on getting the Chief Darkhorse at some point. Take care.
Hi Silver Hawk, Thank you, she was considering the darkhorse but ended up with a 2022 Streetglide special. It is redline red color , love at first sight.

where did you get the front signal relocation kit from?
The turn signals came online from Utah Harley Davidson. They are Street glide special turn signals. The HD Fitment guide claims that they will not fit a Road King.. not true, they bolted on easily and plugged inside the headlight bucket.

I ride a streetglide, i'd say go no radio just because of weight. Streetglides ride nice but if you jump on a Roadglide you notice the lighter front end right away so if you can get a batwing and stay lightweight then your geting the best of both worlds. Mines 2013 so i have all the cool looking guages and it is pretty nice but simple and light is nice too. Run a FXRT Fairing frame mount and matching lowers. I've thought about doing up a RoadKing like that but i'm a one bike man.

It's factory color, red ember sunglow, it has an orange tint to it.

Hi 302 Roadking, I am using stock Roadglide Special bars.. found on eBay for about $80 bucks delivered. I have about 15,000 miles on them and very happy with the comfort they give. how quickly does the fairing detach? how heavy is it? I think i woukd like a fairing without all the speakers bc i don’t listen to music wjen i ride
I can remove the fairing in about 6-8 minutes and reinstall just as quick . Thx
