The humble fellow with the mustach absolutely aniolates.
i love this whole thing
if im really honest... i like ralph best
Sensacional

The Master at work. Never gets old.
The best love it ❤🤠🤠🤠💪

The original blues players were so rudimentary. Blues is lucky, real musicians took over.
What a load of crap
Fantastic four magic guitarist, my favorite is Jan very "virtuoso"..thank you for posting!

(@43:43) I’m upset that Apple Music doesn’t carry Rock Steady anymore.

Anybody know of the names of some of the pieces in Jan’s first session here? Can’t be just made up. Incredible musicianship. Not sure what you call the style at around 10.32 but very effective and beautiful.
I just researched and it’s called the Tremelo method. Wish I could get the tab of what he played here.
Whats the song at the 36:00 mark?

John Lee Hooker was definitely riding high in 1980. This killer performance and being in the 1980 film “The Blues Brothers.”

I had the pleasure of drumming for JLH in Montréal in the early 70s. I was 16 years old. My first big break.

Yes, please. Tell us more ...
This disappeared from YT a couple years ago. Glad to see it's back.
Anyone know the Stefan song around the 15 minute mark? Slide number? And thanks for the upload. Bloody marvellous.
I went riding by the South Coast Where a scar runs down the road Where the leaves bow toward the water And the salted breezes blow While a thought had lingered, stinging, Oh and pressed into my mind Best move around where there is ground to cover I dreamt of griffins and a songbird in a snare And beneath the walls and towers, Streams that run to everywhere She was in a wood-walled garden Oh, sang to the bronze and iron When I awoke above the spokes Of spinning wheels Hold my way and ride it to the reaches Everywhere is to find Only wait if you have got a moment That spans the space of all the miles stretching on Where the air itself is blighted So no kindling will ignite Where a kind word has no echo There we will not greet the night But to go on further searching Over stark unending miles While leaden skies, they rise as sure as they will fall The wait is far from over But a feeling comes around Like a warm wind off the water Blowin' in across the sound I can tell we're getting closer Oh, remember'd from before And now becomes a past that's been and reborn Hold my way and ride it to the reaches Everywhere is to find Only wait if you have got a moment That spans the space of all the miles stretching on
Fantastic-keep coming back to this as the true spirit of biking 🇬🇧👍
Who is thé second guitariste please ?

one amongst my most favorite songs ever!
year of the concert?
probably in the 80s
1981
Dont forget OUR TENOR,ROY HARPER! Old Chris a fiddler of Albuquerque NM retired.
Well that was my generation and what a treat. All that was missing for me was John Renbourn (who wrote the Lady Nothing piece that Bert played). Stephan Grossman as a great host underplayed his prowess - those of us who have learned some ragtime guitar have him to thank for inspiration and teaching (did some great work with Renbourn too). All these players are great legends. For me Jan has always been in a different league though and is as comfortable playing electric on a jazz stage; real genius.
I have never seen Chet play a Fender let alone a Telecaster
Goh. Dit wist ik niet. Jan Akkerman en Stefan Grossman
