In this video I will tell you what part I replaced to clear the check engine light. The main issue was corrosion in the sensor that caused the check engine light to turn on. A simple part replacement did the trick but you need to know which one to replace.

Oh come on I wish I was there with u
I appreciate the review. Good/fair advice on this video
How did your insurance company handle it when you got in the accident? Even though you weren't at fault most companies don't want to cover you if you drive for Lyft or Uber from what I've seen.
Today same thing happened on my line trimmer, after 2 hours working in summer, it played up, I opened the motor chamber, some wires skin were melted, might touched together, wrapped them by electrical tape, and worked again.
At what mileage did you replace the transmission? I have a 2020 xse I’m sitting at 108.000 and need a new transmission
First transmission fluid change I did was at around 120k. You should be fine until 250k before transmission issues. Is yours a v6? And do you do a lot of stop and go driving?
Fam I just got the Avalon hybrid excited to run this to the ground
Thanks for the videos man! Tow hitch used before transmission replacement? Did you have the dealer replace transmission? Ball park of what we should expect to spend?
Tow hitch was used for towing atv on a trailer. No, I replaced the transmission at a transmission shop with a transmission from junk yard. Cost about $4400 out the door.
theres a dude with 560,000 miles on his 2018 camry haha im excited for you to get to that point ! I'm looking forward to that video
Thanks! I need to meet this guy. I need to know who I’m up against 😂
@ @jaimechavez336 !!
Do you change oil in transmission ?
@@SergoArakelyan13 yes, every 60k miles now
Rock chips are big problem on I-77 and I-85. NEver seen it this bad in other states having lived in multiple states.
Thx Man! Same Car here. I hope I can get as many miles as you!!
Here i was wondering if the newer Camrys would hold up. I guess i got my answer. My response.. DAAMN!. I'm looking at camrys.
Lol right on ✊
What kind of oil you use? 0w-16?
Yes factory spec. 0w-16
Did you ever gotten your transmission fixed? I have the same car as well and i'm going through the same thing. I don't know what to do next so I came across your video for feedback. Thanks and stay blessed.
I have a question. I have the same car as you and I was wondering did you ever had an check engine light regards to the transmission or did you ever get a transmission fluid service done to the car?
I had 3 transmission fluid services done before my transmission went out. No, I didn’t have a check engine light that lead to a transmission failure. The only way I knew my transmission was gone is when it started shuttering (vibrating seriously) and when the dealership said “you need a new transmission” and of course I asked how much would a new one be they said “around $8k”.
Do ya thang 🎶 🔥
My boy. Did you replace the alternatir and belt yourself?
You change the purge valve too
it aint brand new brand new bu its brand new.
I got a 2018 xse Camry got it at 132k miles clean title I got 139k miles right everything is great just had to install a new water pump .
Sounds like you’re off to a good start!
It’s a common failure in all toyota dynamic force engines unfortunately
What is the part number for the new valve with hose ?
MAYBE THAT TACOMA OWNER DID A LOT OF HIGHWAY MILES. OIL CHANGE AT EVERY 10K MILES SOUNDS GOOD. BUT IF YOURE DOING CITY DRIVING I WOULD STICK WITH EVERY 5K MILES
So 400,000 miles but with multiple check engine lights? You used to be able to get 400,000 miles without check engine lights on the older Toyotas.
What can I say, new cars new problems 🤷🏻♂️ they have more sensors
Most of the older Toyotas didn’t make it to 200k miles. Now they are lasting 500k miles of hard taxi duty. They don’t build them like they used to. Thank Gosh.
Why did you have to replace the tranny? Was it neglect or was it Toyotas fault?
A coworker bragged about the mileage he had on his old camry. The problem is he was constantly working from home when he should have been in the office. The car needed a transmission and major engine rebuild.
I’m a huge car enthusiast and at 23 years of age, I can’t wait to make my purchase next year! A majority of people my age just look down on this type of cars due to it being boring. But some can’t seem to grasp the point that this type of car is meant for practicality and peace of mind. Even if the time does comes if I ever be able to afford a higher end dream car, I can’t imagine not having this car to serve my day to day life. I’ve had family members who have driven nearly Toyota’s their whole life and this video is just the icing on the cake that finally justified my purchase! Of course, it also applies to the owner on how he or she takes good care of her vehicle to make it last like you did! 😁
Sounds like you're on the right path. You're going to love it!
How did u change ur speedometer to purple? (2:39)
That’s not purple, the light makes it look purple but in reality it’s blue. You can however change the digital info screen to different colors through the steering wheel settings.
@stevenfedorov alright ill check it out, thanks.
Great Info, I would like tknow what is your oil change interval ?
Every 5k miles
Replaced the transmission?! something is wrong here, you shouldn't have needed to too that if it was maintained correctly.
It's a long story!

Congrats 🎉 I love Toyota. Let’s go places.
Lets go!
My aunts has 1 MILLION ➕️ MILES. ALL ORIGINAL ENGINE🎉🎉🎉❤❤
That’s awesome! How’s it keeping up?
@stevenfedorov Toyota bought It . For their MUSEUM ...
I wonder if the 6 cylinder in this generation would last that long
I wouldn’t know, but I’m sure if the maintenance is done right, the car will last a lifetime
I4s even in turbo form tend to outlast V6s.
Very important to call a tow truck if the coolant temp gauge rises above the center of the gauge as the electric water pump can quit suddenly without warning. Drivers who do not stop roast their engines like this: th-cam.com/video/lqBlZY28LMk/w-d-xo.html
Good to know this info, however I never experienced a high temperature on mine. In fact I never saw the gauge move past the half mark!
Toyota is not dying
The Tacoma is.
@@ArthropodSpideyThe new Taco sales are now increasing. It’s pretty good now.
@@user-tb7rn1il3q 100,000 engines recalled is good? Tacomas piling up in dealerships is good? Ok.
@@ArthropodSpidey The recalled engines are in Tundras. Very few actually failed. The Tacos are selling fast at my local dealer. They have a lot, but they turn over quickly.
@@user-tb7rn1il3q where do you live? saudi arabia? Or under a rock? All of Toyotas overpriced cars are doing low numbers. Do your research instead of saying BS and defending a company like a child. There is sales data and videos everywhere about it. Toyota sales have been declining steadily year over year.
Lyft driver
I always like videos about high mileage cars. Thanks for posting!
I'm glad you enjoy them!
How much did you pay to fix it?
How expensive was the transmission repair?
$4,438
I have a 2018, same model. Had to replace water pump at ~80k miles and o2 sensor recently at ~140k miles. I change oil myself every 5k miles and have transmission fluid drain and fill and dealer every 50k. Wonder if you ever needed a repair other than the transmission?
Yea I did all of those things. Probably changed half of the car already lol
400k? i MEAN, it's just BARELY broken in, right?
For sure lol 👍
What oil do u use and change intervals?
0w-16 and every 5k miles
No surprises here it’s a freaking TOYOTA
How does anyone drive that many miles in that time. Did they drive night and day?
Uber... Road trips no rental...😂
Mostly daytime sometimes at night 😁
lol, dude 100,000 miles per year for 4 years running? what on earth do you do for work?
He’s a rideshare driver. He talks about Lyft in the video.
The new standard is 400K reviews
A testament to Toyota quality .
For sure!
I got my 2020 with 180k miles . I drove Lyft initially and then travel alot
Did you ever do any transmission fluid changes or flushes? Mine is at 145k and I haven’t touched that yet.
Always been a German car guy. My 2013 VW broke during covid at 350,000 miles. Part unavailable. So I cracked and bought a 2021 Prius Prime Limited. Decent tech, INSANE gas mileage but I sold it after 2 months. The thing was a tin can. Road noise was crazy loud and the interior was beyond cheap. If Toyota could fix those two things they'd be great.
I think the newer Prius might be up your alley then. Not sure if they fixed those issues but it seems like quality has improved.
Yeah man those toyotas are meant for midgets that weigh 40lbs, i had a 2020 prius, 2008 prius & 2021 sienna and they murdered my back.
I love these kinds of videos. True testament to how great Toyota vehicles are if you just take care of them. And you obviously take good care of your car. The A25A engine is going to be one of Toyota's legendary engines. Just curious what your maintenance schedule is. Like how often do you change your oil. I'm sure it's going to be different than the average guy since you put miles on so fast. And how many transmission fluid changes and coolant changes have you done? Also do you believe in using OEM fluids, or do you just use whatever you think is good? Just curious. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. 👍
I'll do a separate video on that soon!
@@stevenfedorov please do i'll be looking forward to that video
@@stevenfedorov Great! I can't wait to hear what you have to say.
