Why Superman is More Important Now Than Ever...
Superheroes have defined popular culture and storytelling ever since Superman made his major debut in Action Comics only a year prior to the start of the second world war. Soldiers used Superman stories to live out fantasies of punching that damn supervillain in the face and foiling their evil scheme. Ever since Superman's creation, Superman has been defined as a figure that stood for the little guy, and stood up against injustices. For decades, Superman has been a incredibly powerful symbol of hope, until recently. Due to how popular media has represented Superman, people have developed a misunderstanding that Superman is a "boring" or "tired" character, that Superman is just a lifeless brooding god. In this personal video essay, I talk to the skeptics, explain to them how Superman has had a major impact on my life, and show them the reasons why even after almost a century, Superman will always remain a timeless character. Superman is a timeless symbol for hope in our society, and we need him more than ever to be represented properly in our media. This video was a long time in the making so I hope you enjoy it. For those wondering, my next video will be on Aggretsuko season 2.

Psychosis is Creepypasta Perfected
มุมมอง 3082 ปีที่แล้ว
Psychosis is a short story written by Matt Dymerski, which slowly shows the process of a man's paranoia and delusions slowly taking over him. As the pieces connect he realizes that he truly is the last person with his own free will. Though Psychosis seems to have one true ending, it's important to take a look at the big picture, because when you do, you will realize what truly makes this story ...
Halo Combat Evolved: Changing an Industry
มุมมอง 2092 ปีที่แล้ว
Bungie was a small studio that started during the early 1990s, after releasing small but fairly successful games, they had started developing Halo, after going through radical changes. Halo: Combat Evolved was released to the Xbox, and with it's release came absolutely massive critical acclaim and many sales. Microsoft in one fell swoop had managed to become one of the biggest gaming companies....
Halo Reach: Heroes Missing in Action
มุมมอง 1273 ปีที่แล้ว
Halo Reach was the last Bungie Halo game before they moved onto working Destiny. Though it's multiplayer was a mixed bag for me, the campaign is an absolutely phenomenal story that deals with not only war, but the idea of never giving up in a dire situation, themes of sacrificing yourself for the greater good, etc. In this video I try to explain why I love Halo Reach so much and how it creates ...

Superman is a symbol of hope and represents the best of humanity. I really hope and cross my fingers when James Gunn's Superman comes out. That the ideals and what makes him such a great character comes back. It would be satisfying.

Just the thought of someone not being able to tell what's happening or not happening and descending into madness is such a disturbing concept regardless of if the protagonist was right or wrong. That's what makes Psychosis such a good story

Luther showed who He was. He had all of Superman abilities for 24 Hrs. He could have made a source of unlimited energy or fixed world hunger or found a way to repair Our Ozone. Instead what did He do he went on a rampage to prove He was better then others. He never would have let anyone have that power and risk someone challenging Him.

I will always be a Superman fan, I latched on to him as a young boy. His ability to fly, his suit colors (Superman is why my favorite color blue.), the fact that he will always be there to save you, and have the power to back it up. I have great respect for Batman, but I choose Superman and his red cape.

Ik the world ain’t perfect. But there’s Always hope, the people who bring to life these amazing characters put into the world what they want to see. It’s a good thing we have good characters like Superman to show us the best we could be especially in a world that’s so cynical and wants to see the person next to them fail.

Whats so Funny About Trust Justice and the American Way is a great comic. Unfortunately, and I always say this, the Animated adaptation ruins it by botching the ending. The whole point of Superman's act was that it was just an act. He was not actually killing them. Just temporarily incapacitating them. And by the same metric, he was not actually acting as "the surgeon" permanently ridding them of their powers. Which is what he does in the animated version, where he says he has depowered them all permanently. Even Black, he mentions in the comic, that the heat/x ray vision trick he used to depower him was only temporary. He leaves them all for the proper authorities to decide what to do. i think the only act he actually does- is he frees Bunny, their living ship, from them, as he somehow communicates with it and finds that they were keeping it against it's will. I think it may have been the same with the creatures that make up Menagerie's powers And that always bothered me, because it really is a decent adaptation, all the way up until the end, where they totally ruin the message.

One of my favourite Superman mini stories is from Red and Blue, it’s the “You are special, I’m proud of you, I love you” comic with it flipping between shots of John Kent and Clark from a baby all the way till John dies before flipping between shots of Superman saying those same words to the people he helps day to day. Final shot is Superman flying out into space and looking on Earth going “I love you, I’m proud of you.” It’s so beautiful

When I was younger, I was optimistic and always tried to do the right thing - at that time I loved Batman and didn't find Superman all that interesting (maybe because I didn't find myself allthat interesting). Now that I'm older, jaded and far more cynical, I find myself gravitating towards Superman far more than Batman.

It’s very sad that hope, idealism, and optimism are now regarded as boring. Brooding and cynicism are regarded as realism and intelligence. I don’t think Batman is any more realistic than Superman. No human being could have all those qualities, no matter how much he traveled, studied, or trained.

I disagree with you on your characterization of Lex Luthor. Lex Luthor while a billionaire, is driven by a need for absolute power. Superman stands in the way of that. In Superman the man of steel miniseries, Lex Luthor hosts a yacht party inviting both Lois Lane and Clark Kent. While socializing, a group of terrorist's barge in and take everyone hostage. Clark changes into Superman and defeats the terrorists. turns out they were hired thugs by Luthor to test Superman's ability. Luthor attempts to get Supes on the Payroll, he declines. The mayor of metropolis then deputizes supes and has him arrest Luthor, thus starting their age long canon rivalry from 1986-2011. Lex Luthor is all about power and superman defied that. He must be destroyed.

Although personally i prefer batman style heroes where theyre powerless but still stand amongst gods, which is why nightwing is my favorite hero. The skill of batman with the hopefullness of superman, even looking at the lego batman 3 game and the super friends cartoon really shows the impact superman has on robin as a mentor. fantastic stuff
