Fixing Warped Paperback Book Spine In 3 Minutes

The easiest solution for fixing warped or curved paperback book spines with a heat gun. bcmastercrafts (Music : bensound.com)
What paint is it?
Emeğine sağlık ❤❤❤
I really love what you did with the spine, any issues with stability? Looks really good all around!
Çok güzel yapmışsın cidden imrendim ama yapamam :)
four hundred celcius are you fucking kidding me?
Please tell me that’s for sale in an Etsy shop.
3D printing was a slick choice. Very nice
What a marvellous repair!! However if I gave your skills I'd turn it into a hardcover but with modern printing technology I'd preserve the original cover artwork.
Yeah, sometimes there are high resolution images of old covers in the internet. You could download then and print it out for the cover. I once did this to an old Tarzan paperback that Iturned into a hardbound, as much as Possible I wanted it to look like the original book the way it was published.
It is sad that you do not have so many views and subs... Probably that's why you stopped uploading
I love watching your work, your design's are amazing😍but you don't have a new videos, its make me sad, are you ok?
I was wondering how to get text on book cloth without using vinyl and I was pulling my hair out researching increasingly expensive ways to print. I would have never thought of a stencil! This is great!
IMPRESSIONANTE…, quanta habilidade, usou todas as técnicas e com minúcias para se aproximar da perfeição…, ÓTIMO TRABALHO. Abraço aqui do Brasil 🇧🇷
Would you be willing to share your stl files😮
this is so freaking cool. I'm so sad you're not posting anymore :( you have amazing skills and creativity <3
how did I never think of leaving part of the cover to save some steps when the book its in good condition. absolute gem, thank you!
Broooooo 🗿
Why did you cut off the bottom edges of the pages? Also, how long did this take?
It is probably is his hobby - collecting and restoring vintage paperbacks, it will take as long as he needs to.
Why remove the glue just to put it back on? Is it a PH concern?
Hi. No, the applied glue usually wears out and becomes damp over time. That's why I'm renewed it.
Thanks for the response! That makes a lot of sense! I’m looking to rebind some old childhood books so it’s good to know I should probably reapply the glue to be safe!
MAybe I should send you my Von Vogt A Null original Analog printings to see if you could rebind them into something readable.
Pretty good ! Me? Even though it's damaged I would've used the original cover recessed into the front or maybe find the original cover online, print that out and use it...
I just tried a similar method on a bunch of warped paperbacks I own, after all it's just a matter of melting the glue and flattening the spine out, but will this method also repair spots where the spine cracked and is just completely bent out of shape? I've got a 50 year old Dune paperback and I was surprised because the glue took a long time to brighten up and become malleable, but I'm not sure if this is gonna help the spots where it's broken or where pages have come loose. btw, great choice of paperback. started reading Clive Cussler's novels with Raise the Titanic and already I'm hooked on pacific vortex and atlantis found.
Great book, great re-binding 👌
You are a legend.. I was looking for my old halo books on the shelf and I had left them all leaning instead of standing straight.. resulting in warped books.. your method worked like a charm🥲 the crazy part is I just bought a heat gun a few days ago. Thank you so much for your video I thought my books were ruined🤟🤟
woaaaahhhh 😮❤
Woah the way you went about this whole thing, especially the front cover and the spine, was such a good idea. Def stealing that for restoration/fanfic bindings! <3
I wonder if the tale is worthy of such delicate and high quality treatment.😊❤
YO this is one of the best book restoration results I've seen, love how it came out and the choice of book and everything it looks great!! :D
Abi sen Türk müsün 😊😅
Bacan Maestro,Genio.
Hmm…I dunno about those text margins after the pages went through the guillotine, buddy. They’re all over the place. 😐 Using a flat sanding stick will give you better contours on that fabric folding back through the silhouette cutout. The page repair and repaint was flawless.
Look great! I like the effect of the endpaper showing through the cutouts on the casing board. Do you worry at all about those areas being easy to puncture/tear (or at least easier to puncture/tear than the rest of the cover)? I'm wondering if I were to do something akin to this whether I'd layer two thinner pieces of board as a sandwich around an extra piece of the endpaper, or whether that would be overkill.
Thank you. I use thick craftpaper. Its almost as thick as a paperback cover. Additionally, PVA glue providing extra hardness and durability. So I don't worry about punctures.
Nice work! Have you discovered a good thickness for the pieces used to emboss the cover and a recommended tolerance between the embossed pieces and the jig around it?
Wow 😮
WOW! The old spine book mark was the icing on the cake!!!
I didn’t even realize that’s what that was! Good eye!
Exemplary. For sale?
for goodness sake, why to cut the block so hardly? You ruined it.
these videos are amazing. do you have any on how to save an old books hardcover? i have a very old copy of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea. It has a very bad spine and the cover has tape on it. I'd like to try and save the cover and rebind the book. I'd like to see how that is done. Thanks for your content.
Thank you. th-cam.com/video/A4bRcpJJVEM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mPDABjKmTZv9RGSi This one may help you.
How do you get the pages to not stick together when painting them? I'd love to do that to some of the books I'm making.
Is that regular cotton fabric? It kind of looks more silky like velvet.
Do you always glue fabric right onto the chip board or do you ever make book cloth? I didn't know we can glue fabric right to chipboard.

Beautiful workmanship!
I really liked the final touch, making the old spine into a book mark. Nice work :) thanks for showing us your process
This took my breath away.
I don't collect comics nor repair and do works of art as you do, but I find these videos calming and helping me with my anxiety issues. Thank you.
gorgeous! love that shade of green for the accent color!! 💚💚💚
oHH, I thought Psychomech was a type of bookbinding therapy.
Che vernice ai usato?
I'm not sure I have ever had the kind of patience you showed with fixing the damaged corners. It was awesome to watch. I have a semi-technical question. What is the dark material you are using for your covers? What should I be looking for to take a crack at this?
Hi. Im using regular linen cloth aka duck canvas fabric. If this will be your first attempt, i recommend bookcloth. Its much easier to apply.
@@BBRCNGL Thank you. I've not heard of either, but I now know what to look for.
Impressive, very nice.
