What a marvellous repair!! However if I gave your skills I'd turn it into a hardcover but with modern printing technology I'd preserve the original cover artwork.
Yeah, sometimes there are high resolution images of old covers in the internet. You could download then and print it out for the cover. I once did this to an old Tarzan paperback that Iturned into a hardbound, as much as Possible I wanted it to look like the original book the way it was published.
Awesome video, the way you restore the text block is amazing, but your casing on this one is one of your best, very precise and tight. I can never get the paste down and end sheet to fit so well. Thanks for sharing, it's back to my box of oldies for another try. Cheers.
I'm not sure I have ever had the kind of patience you showed with fixing the damaged corners. It was awesome to watch. I have a semi-technical question. What is the dark material you are using for your covers? What should I be looking for to take a crack at this?
I was one of the people asking for something that would explain what you are doing in the steps. And I can say honestly what you have done in this video is exactly what I was looking for both from just enjoying the video but also for learning. Awesome job!
Hmm…I dunno about those text margins after the pages went through the guillotine, buddy. They’re all over the place. 😐 Using a flat sanding stick will give you better contours on that fabric folding back through the silhouette cutout. The page repair and repaint was flawless.
Really like your videos. Have been watching and learning bookbinding/restoration myself. Do you mind posting what cutting mat and paper cutter you used?
Look great! I like the effect of the endpaper showing through the cutouts on the casing board. Do you worry at all about those areas being easy to puncture/tear (or at least easier to puncture/tear than the rest of the cover)? I'm wondering if I were to do something akin to this whether I'd layer two thinner pieces of board as a sandwich around an extra piece of the endpaper, or whether that would be overkill.
Thank you. I use thick craftpaper. Its almost as thick as a paperback cover. Additionally, PVA glue providing extra hardness and durability. So I don't worry about punctures.
Pretty good ! Me? Even though it's damaged I would've used the original cover recessed into the front or maybe find the original cover online, print that out and use it...
I'm absolutely amazed by your patience and attention to detail, especially with the page edges. This is a work of love
Yes, quite agree -- would love to have a list of the equipment used.

Nice video! So far, I'm loving the series! You're probably the best book binder I've seen.

Hi. Im using regular linen cloth aka duck canvas fabric. If this will be your first attempt, i recommend bookcloth. Its much easier to apply.

Thank you. I've not heard of either, but I now know what to look for.

I wonder if the tale is worthy of such delicate and high quality treatment.😊❤

Liked before watching the video. Been waiting for a video for so long.❤️

I love watching your work, your design's are amazing😍but you don't have a new videos, its make me sad, are you ok?
MAybe I should send you my Von Vogt A Null original Analog printings to see if you could rebind them into something readable.
Why did you cut off the bottom edges of the pages?
Also, how long did this take?
It is probably is his hobby - collecting and restoring vintage paperbacks, it will take as long as he needs to.
Merhabalar. Cilt için ne tür bir kumaş kullandınız?
Merhaba. Duck Keten denen bir tür kumaş kullanıyorum.
Exemplary. For sale?
It is sad that you do not have so many views and subs... Probably that's why you stopped uploading
