Does this only work for sony cameras or on canon too
M11
You lucky man, I bought an sx-70 on ebay for $80 and it didn't work, I paid another $100 for inspection and restoration, bought a similar ITT Magic Flash, and my two cassettes produced not photos, but junk, they were dark and useless.
Super shots, and great teamwork! Love my Q3... Now I just have to find a way to get to the Oregon coast!
How does the camera know where the focus on the lens is?
Really enjoyed this video! Loved the photos you got and the commentary you provided. Just very very nice work. Thanks!
Hype
When I press the button the picture won’t come out do you know what I’m doing wrong?
Man, you live in a beautiful part of the US. I hope to do a roadtrip there once. The cane looks super classy btw ;) As for the xpan, you should try to source some of the center filters. They really help with the vignetting.
Hello fellow Oregon photographer! Just happened upon your stuff today. Watched quite a few videos. Absolutely beautiful work!!!
are the peak design anchors stock these days?
I never understood how this is harder than slr cameras...
Man i'm just blown away by the colors in this whole video. You manage to capture the all encompassing dampness that makes me love the PNW so much. beautiful greens and grays!
What do you recommend for concert photography, a73 or a9?
Really enjoyed this. About to pull the trigger on a M6. thanks
How do I get my camera in the stadium tonight 😢
Hey Jake, it’s been a real long time but I got into photography and started looking at your stuff. I really hope things are getting better since this video. Hard to see an old friend struggle and I’m wishing the best for you man. If a comfy pair of Hokas might help or I can help any way else hit me up
🖤🖤
Dont have the budget for a camera like that but any other recommendations that could be comparable to the Sony 7 1? and what is the model of the flash you use?
for a camera around 1k do you have any suggestions for cameras for a concert ?
Wow the photos are amazing! Are they post edited at all? Just wondering.
what VND do you use?
Some great photo's Jake!
Thank you for speaking on confidence, the innocence that comes with passion and the importance of figuring out your own footing ❤️🔥
Great video ❤ did you test the Tamron 35-150?
lightmeters expose for middle gray, your pictures came underexposed because you metered for snow and for the white dog, so the camera wanted to make the dog and snow gray. you have to compensate for that. i think theres a section about that in every film cameras manual, even in the leicas manual
What is the device you are holding in the beginning?
Sell them online for 5ea. You’ll make money back 20x
Awesome video! About to buy my first Leica (M6). Also, hate to be this person, but you spelt Leica wrong on the parts where show the photos 😅
You're my saviour. Thank you.
Can you use a mirrorless instead of a dslr?
Yes
fabulous photography! Dusted off the xpan from 24 years ago. Need a 2.0 Diopter? Any leads please? Thank you
I've had the incredible luck to take pictures of my two favorite bands already: Blackout Problems 3x (alternative rock, super energetic shows, singer loves to run and climb all around the venue lol), and Enter Shikari once (alt-rock too, insane light-show and visuals, crazy pits), where I won a raffle for a photo-pass last year, and I hope I'll get to shoot for both of them again. 🤞🏻 My utopic daydream is to photograph BTS or another big (=many members) K-Pop group someday, because they usually have shows with big productions, lots of dancers and choreography, many different outfits, detailed stage sets/props, the fans often have lightsticks that interact with the music.... so it provides a lot of interesting and stunning visuals.
I just brought the Q3 43 and am loving it. I had the Q2 but didn’t like the 28mm focal length. Too wide for me. The 43 is more of my vibe. I love that it requires minimal editing afterwards. Did you edit these photos much?
straight to the point, thanks mate!
Dude you nail focus every time!! love these pics
hold up! image 2:02 is actually an insane image! The contrast of light to dark and pink and blues is phenomenal
Great images !!!!
pretty crappy photos but i love the leica
I love the experience of the rangefinder, compared with the digital sensor
Hi, any chance to know the aperture and shutter speeds on some of the photos.
Hi. Are the photos we see edited or just a scan of the print. I’m a beginner with the M6.
Bro I felt pairing the ”all I want for Christmas is you” song with the M3 lol
ok so talk about it💀
I appreciate your comment about hearing all of the shutters in rapid fire and you taking one shot per wave. In my university years in the 90s I found myself in the unique position to work with our yearbook and was given a press pass to any sporting event. I would go to all of the home games and learned how to predict the plays and in some cases out maneuvered the professional press photogs. I was amazed how these photogs would shoot an entire roll of film on one play and I was taking one well aimed shot with a lens on manual focus (because my kit lens wasn't fast enough). I learned so much from that experience. I eventually picked up a Mamiya c330 and did portrait work for a few years before my regular career became too much to balance. I always did admire the Mamiya 7ii on the BHPhoto website. :)
The main reason to invest in a digital Leica M is that one can learn to use it within an hour; whereas say high-end Nikons and Cannons are so over saturated with features to the point where they take many months to learn to use. Secondly, Leica Ms are considerably smaller and lighter than say a Nikon Z8, as are the lenses thus allowing one to be discrete.
A7iv or fx30??
i bought the Q3 last week and so far i am loving it
M11 is more work for nothing basically. Range finder cameras are dated for a reason. You need to constantly manual focus your shots for no extra benefits than stroking your own ego
Nothing wrong with full control. I've had photos taken on my Fuji (which I love) that focused on the wrong thing. Had I used full manual I would have been fine. It's just a preference nothing more. Also very useful to know how to zone focus and whatnot especially when shooting something like film.
@@narutoflash10nhjigy7 Fuji isn’t reliable for focus at all. The q3 is decent enough but also has manual focus if you prefer so it’s just limitations on the m11 for no good reason
@@ambition2959 well the point of the M is to be fully manual. People buy it for that reason. It's more niche in that regard and it's ok. Not every device has to be made for everyone. I think a lot of people just enjoy that manual process. Maybe for a similar reason why people like to shoot film as well.
@@narutoflash10nhjigy7 well from what I see in forums a lot of M users have a huge ego and saying “it’s not real photography if you rely on a camera to do all the work you need to get hands on blah blah blah”. If you wanted a range finder camera there’s cheaper options, but they go for the most expensive then brag about how they’re skilled photographers because they can find focus without the camera helping, hence why I said there’s no real benefit other than stroking peoples egos, and Leica knows that. Why do you think it’s more expensive but gives way less features compared to a Q?
@@ambition2959 Those guys are just wack honestly and don't serve the hobby. Don't forget a lot of people online are just in their own echo chamber. At least everyone I've met with leicas have been very kind and didn't really care what camera I was using. Personally I've been using a Canon P to get that experience and was significantly cheaper. I do believe Leicas are more expensive because of how they're made and how many they make as well as brand cost of course. Again I think it just depends on your perspective. If I find myself not ever using auto focus then I'd go for an M11 for the added benefit of swapping lenses as well. That's my thought process at least.
I believe Fujifilm made the Hasselblad Xpan camera and lens. And the camera is not exactly as robust as say a Leica camera.
