Being at the 1000ft mark - when all 10k horsepower is being used and top speed being obtained.....is indescribable

Somebody told me that if you think being at a regular lap race is exciting, drag racing is 100 times more exciting. He said it shakes the bleachers when they come roaring by, which stands to reason when you have an engine that's putting out probably 1500+ hp and a car thats going from 0 to 200 in under 2 seconds.

I have never been,live 15 minutes from the drag way and race track. Got to try the drags after this video.

I really should have gone to a race sometime, NJ I think lost its last dragway when Atco suddenly closed without any real warning last year.

I remember my first time at Pomona raceway... I felt like a bunch of elephants shook the ground, so much so, it made my eyes teared, lol

If he thought that was loud, back in the 60s they let you stand next to the Jersey Barrier walls, and you inhaled unbury nitro, had your ear drums blown out and to top it off get covered in tiny tar balls from the track/tires. It was funny though watching this gentleman hear a top fuel rail

There's a track called National Trails near me (Hebron OH), and I have only ever been there when it was used as a cross country course when my son was running in High School. In 1991, what was to be my first real date, was to be there. The girl cancelled on me :D
