Taking an anniversary trip to Mars? Not a typical.vacation spot, but it would be interesting. You even went with the "Build Your Own Vacation Home" option instead of staying in a hotel at Olympus Mons.

The vendor has liquid volatiles and oxygen, but wants fuel. I wonder if you can just mix them and sell it back for a profit? Surely you could make cheap water by just buying the volatiles and burning it with oxygen from a hydroponics facility, but you dont have one yet.

One time I was RPing on the moon, and ran into the max room issue. I had set a goal of building a self sufficient colony for 12 people (full life support, food, water, power, all the plants, chickens, etc), so I was digging out a massive cavern to place my apartment block. Suddenly I had no air and couldn't figure out why. Wasted a ton of gas.

Chewy I know these are pre-recorded, but you can make biomass now. Aka “poor man’s Vol ice”. 1 biomass = 8 mol of vol. for reference 1 cobalt = 1 mol vol. after you process the biomass into charcoal. You can either burn it for some CO2/Pol/power, use it to make more steel, or shower the best source for biomass production, switch grass. Wheat works as well, but switch grass is a perennial plant. And wheat is too useful for food imo

One thing i did on Mars that might work.on venus: make two extra solar panels. Point the forst at the rising sun, the second at the noon sun, and the third at the setting sun. That way i dont have to adjust panels.

chewy personally i prefer the single port solar pnls, not only for cable reasons also space. for wiring and prevent short circuits, wire the IC housing like a memory chip. have the power input from the batteries and the data side out to the pnls. just dont wire all the way around the IC housing. as well paint the cables so you dont accidently make a mistake. For the wind trubines, there have been a change. lg ones can produce about 3kW to over 20kW in a storm. (the most ive seen on mars was 20.1kW ea) small ones cap at out at 1kW ea. now. When in doubt, place fuse(s) in case you do have a wire pop, you know where to find the break(s). For the storm warning sys, you can send it to laptop instead of an advanced tablet. i recommend a tablet because you will hear the warning once, and again only if you turn that tablet on

The reason the ideal fuel mixture "happens" to match water -- H2O -- is because when you burn pure hydrogen IRL the "exhaust" is literally water (well, steam): H2 + H2 + O2 = H2O + H2O "Volatiles" in Stationeers have split personality. Sometimes volatiles act like Hydrogen -- they're even labelled "H2" in the sensor glasses -- and sometimes they're more like other chemicals such as Methane. The "H2 combuster" treats it as (impure) hydrogen, as does the Electrolizer (converts water to fuel), but the fuel generator and combustion centrifuge exhaust is more like you'd get from hydrocarbons. The devs decided to simplify "fuel" but actually made it a bit more confusing, if you try to think about it too hard. 🤷

Ice won't melt in a mining belt, even one stored in a locker, but I'm not sure the same is true of the mining backpack? It will definitely melt in other backpacks. Also, running the Arc Furnace indoors releases hot gases into the room ... in particular, smelting gold releases oxygen, so that probably contributed to the fire.

Ryan, you might contemplate expanding your workshop area. It is fun to see how much stuff you can cramp in as little volume, but this is getting too ridiculous. Have fun and be safe,

I'm pretty sure that the ore scanner looks directly below you no matter where you're looking. So it's working fairly well when you're on the surface, but completely useless on the bedrock. You've probably figured that out (or don't need it anymore, as I'm 2 hours behind your episodes still), but... just sayin.

You used the daylight sensor to control the grow lights and the outside temp to control the import of CO2 into your gas system.

The problem with the single port solar panels is that there's an upper limit on how many panels you can put on a single power network without burning out the cable. So you'd need to have multiple logic chips for each power network you have to control all the panels. The dual port panels you can use light cable on the data and hook as many of them up as you have with only one logic controller.

the "trick" with the furnace is not that great....

Seeing you have your aloy furnace in a box. You can heat the air inside the box with a wall heater. If I am not mistaken, the wall heater is more power efficient than the pipe heater.

It was an awful idea to open ur helmet right before letting some hot gas out. I'm really enjoying the series but it's hard to watch a hour long episode while listening to the heavy breathing every single second. U can buy a pill from the trader but it's really expensive

Bleak, i placed a code for ya in disc for the weather. I know you can do it, and when you do, you will have something you can jeer your hubby in saying you did and he never did!

Having worked in IT-support, explaining stuff to people who know other things better than me, I'll offer a decent way (I think) to explain different networks: A network is an imaginary/virtual box you can sort stuff info, and it's boundaries is defined by which cables and ports are connected. Things that have multiple connection points can be in different boxes. Taking the station battery as an example, you usually have input (generally from solar panels and similar) in one box/network, output power in one box/network, and you can have data in a different box/network. That's because it has those 3 different ports. There are ways to connect one box to another, but that would require some action done to the things that are in multiple boxes. Reasons for putting things in different networks, is the same as for putting stuff in different boxes: you don't want different screws and nails in a big mess you have to sort every time, or you might not want pests from the flour you just bought getting into your rice or whatever (and sorting those can be quite time consuming I'd imagine;). It's there to have things somewhat organized, and to contain problems in manageable sizes. You may want to substitute box with drawer, bin or whatever else word makes sense and is more used or otherwise helps wrap brain of the person you're explaining to, around the concept. English is my second language after all. Our thought patterns are all different, depending on what we already know. And you often have to connect new concepts to old concepts in some way initially, which can then be seperated again once the basics are internalized.

Personally I would prioritize the security printer. Put it outside, it doesn't matter. Blasting charges would greatly reduce your mining time and give you the resources you need to trade and expand. Realize you are much further ahead but that is my advice

I don't know if you are saving O2 by turning it on and off. I haven't tested it, but I would assume that O2 is consumed at the same rate if you leave it On. Reducing the suit target pressure would save you a lot of O2, though.

3:50 i think that heats up when u're vaccum-ing the room and when the pressure it's low, the temp spikes to like 2.5k ºC and the bottle absords some of that heat, i guess maybe that's what's happening. Pls fix the heavy breathing. 1h of heavy breathing ASMR its making me go insane

The reason why your waste gasses are so hot is because the suit uses the O2 to boost the cooling. It is a game mechanic thing that doesn't have a real-world equivalent. Taking the pill does make for more injoy able watching. Making more of them isn't that hard if you have ferns.

For cooling, you have to start with ACs cooling ea other, unless you go with a the “furnace cheese”. The reason for ACs is no gas in the gane can condense at 463C. The highest temp gas you can use is water/steam max 330C ish. And water is in extreme high demand. Pol max temp is 157. So you need ACs to cool down to less than 157. Turbo/N2O fuel is a 1:1 mix ratio Vol/N2O. 2:1 for reg fuel. One good thing about Venus is it’s amto will always melt gold copper silver and lead. (Min 327C, 600K) Last note check settings, you might be able to hit key your filters on and off like your stabilizers with the asteroid belt. Keep up the good work. I personally have no desire to ever do Venus! Let alone brutal
