A Jelly Roll Race Quilt Along! (Part 3)
Lovely! Have you ever done this with a double thickness of cotton batting? I’m in Australia and think that cotton may make for a better all-seasons quilt that’s easy to launder for my couch snuggle quilts. Thoughts?
Thank you! I have a quilt I did with double cotton that hangs over my banister. I find that it is very stiff and definitely not snuggly. Perhaps a good quality polyester “poof” batting!?
it appears you are using your forearms to help move the fabric... is that correct?
Does anyone know what size PVC is best?
Beautiful. What kind of paint did you use?
Next time shoot from the other side - your hand completely blocks the drawing! I like your adaptation of the McTavishing.
Great demo thx.
Love your Bernina system would have purchased it. I will try to recreate it for my 770QE. I wish I could afford the Q20 but maybe soon. Thanks for sharing. Can you give me the name of the grips and ruler you use. First time I’ve seen your channel I liked and subscribed looking forward to seeing more
I have had this ruler for years, bu5 never use it. Thank you so much for your help.😊
So glad to hear it helped! There is a whole quilt along using that ruler if you are interested. Just do a search under my name.
What chalk pencil do you use?
Beautiful designs.. great video. are using the sewing machine to free motion quilting after you’ve embroidered the designs? I’ve got several embroidered items and would like to stipple like you are doing. How are you keeping the machine from going over your embroidery design? Are you using scuba fabric to achieve the puff look?
Thanks for all the designs! I now have so many ideas for the border on my quilt.
So, so cute!
Dancing ribbons /wall hanging post 1
Hello, I'm from Germany and I'd like to know the following: Where can I buy the ruler tool that is used from minute 6 to 7. Or can you please tell me what it is called then I know what I have to look for. Many thanks for your video. Its very intereesting and helpful for me.
Thank you, Anne! That is the Line Tamer Ruler. In the U.S. you can get it online from Four Paws Quilting. There is a 1/2” and 5/8” opening but most machines use the 1/2”. I believe they have information that will confirm what will work for your machine.
Thank you for this tutorial!!!
Awesome I will have watch again with my long and do it along with you
Yes I just bought the tool and no instructions came with it, and I want to use on my long arm
Thank you so much for these HandiQuilter ruler tutorials!
What have you used for hanging the clamps on please
Hi Penny! I have just discovered you 😃 I tried finding you on Facebook but was unable to. I was hoping to find how you sandwich your double batting quilts as I didn't see any pins. I assumed you use spray?
Very fun western designs! These would be fun to couch!
Beautiful doodling! Awesome!
Hi
Where do you get the Lion Tamer Ruler? Sheila
Absolutely love it
hank you Penny. A doodle scrapbook is a great idea,
So glad to see you!,
If feels good to hear from everyone!! Thanks for commenting!
Happy you’re back! Missed seeing you and your amazing talent. I have learned so much by watching your video’s! Can’t wait to see what you are doing now.

Your Inktense art is pretty! I enjoyed your western designs. I think they’d be fun to add to a baby quilt. I’m glad you’re back to making videos.
Thank you! Feel like I needed to do something with it; it’s a milestone for me! Hope you are well!
Hello! I hope you had an amazing day and got lots done. I'm still nursing a head cold and trying to rest. Thank you for sharing this video and your talent!
Hi there! Not sure I got a lot done but making a post was an achievement. Hope you get over that cold very soon!! Thanks for watching!
Wonderful! Thank you Penny.
That is great! I am having trouble finding #1 as there are other videos with the same name and number. Can you post a link to #1 of this group of videos for me. I just got a longarm and the versa tool so everything is new information for me. Thank you!
I believe this is it! th-cam.com/video/jcIDzKSux9Q/w-d-xo.html
Thank you, this was great!!!
Still possible to join this class?
Gives me ideas on how to use this ruler. I bought it, but haven't used it a lot. Thank you!
What are the straps you are using called please?
I Ordered the foot I needed to do this for my baby lock jazz and I ordered the ruler even with my feed dogs down it seems like the foot is putting to much down pressure on the quilt for me to be able to move it around any idea what I’m doing wrong
I’m just seeing this but I can decrease the pressure on my foot, wondering if you can. Your Manuel would probably tell you.
Where can I find the Line Tamer you use?
Hi, Jeanne! Fourpawsquilting.com. Most brands take the 1/2” opening. For the sitdown I like the longer version but for the frame and domestic I prefer the shorter version. Have fun!!
Ta da…..such an unveiling. Congrats.
I have seen pet groomer arms used. They can be purchased for under $30 each. It looks similar to what is charged for $200 each. The pvc rig can be easily made if you are handy. We are. I’m currently evaluating my approach. The ratcheting clamps are the way to go over spring clamps. I did procure those similar to yours. I mention the difference in strength needed to some who may be unaware of diff.
I went and bought the grooming idea, works great!!!
@@katiewildes54 yeah!
Beautiful pattern
Very beautiful! Are you using 1 layer of Hobbs poly cotton and 1 layer of their wool batting?
You're too far away from the microphone and hard to hear.
I’m sorry, Gayle. You may need too adjust your volume because it plays fine on both my phone and iPad.
Thanks a lot for this very useful video Could you please tell me where did you buy the diagonal stencil, please ? Thanks
I have the same fun clock! I will miss your sit down demos but I will still watch closely. Cant wait to do another whole cloth quilt along. Your stitching is amazing
I too wish I lived closer😉
Great explanation! Thank you for sharing!
Oh what a fun doodling class! I wish I lived closer!!!
I bought the grip-its last year after seeing yours. I keep them at my machine all the time., Used them today while sewing a Mat for my machine. They are fantastic. Thanks Penny
Beautiful quilting! I just got this ruler and now I know how to use it!
