Banff & Jasper - You Should Go | CANADA
Spent 10 days in Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta Canada to enjoy some of the most breath taking sights and experiences you can ever have. The place is unreal, pristine and a reminder to why we have to protect such wonderful places that are left on this planet. We started from Calgary where we rented an RV from Canadream, drove to the town of Banff, then to Lake Louise and visited Moraine lake as well. We took a detour to Golden BC where we took the Suspension bridges and rode a mountain coaster. then took the Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park. Stopping by the Columbia Icefields, Peyto lake, johnston canyon, maligne canyon, castle mountain hike, the town of Jasper, emerald lake and many other beautiful places.

    DUDEEEE absolutely astounding!! WOW...WOW!!! So cinematic, the narration, the shots are unbelievable... the view count couldn't be further away from the quality of this video... What frames per second where you using on some of those shots, gotta be more than 60 and in 4k.. just amazing.. the pull back shots, you've got so much cinematic talent dude, seriously. You should be proud of your work!

      Haha thanks for the kind comments 👍 glad you enjoyed it, I had a lot of fun making this one. The video is a mix of 4K frame rates 120, 60 and 30 FPS depending on the situation. Scripting, colour grading and sound design played a huge part as well 😅

    I know this is an old video, but I haven't seen you try a cold well in your winter shelter. If you head out in a floorless shelter this upcoming winter, give it a try. It does help if you can dig it down, even 18" or so.

    • @DerekSOutdoors

      Will definitely need to try the cold well when there is enough snow. I thi k I need the extra 18" of headspace in the shelter or else my face is too close to the pyramid tent wall and I end up with condensation just above my face and a snowing effect while I sleep

Any tips on how to handle the slippery little buggers? they always just fly out of my hands like an airplane🛫

      @@DavidDunford58 yeah a 220 is really short. I got the longest one I could find to avoid getting splashed and dripped on and it has worked well. It does make it hard to paddle in the narrow stuff but it's a trade I am willing to make. I paddle my 16foot prospector with this 260 sometimes and it still works well. Despite the weather the overall trip was pretty good with some memorable highlights, especially the campsite bt - beautiful. Have you travelled the Tim River section between Shippagew Lake and Little trout/Queer Lake? I'm planning a fly fishing trip that loops around that area

    • @DerekSOutdoors
      @DerekSOutdoors 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tat campsite on rosebary is one of the best, wide open and you can still find firewood. I have travelled the Tim from shippagew toward queer, this was before my TH-cam days (Going against current and paddled against a swift headwind back to the magnetawan access point) There were some wider open stretches that would be good for fly fishing from the canoe, but a lot of it was quite narrow and shallow with small log jams. I spent a lot of time dragging my boat through sand and mud because I did that trip in late June when the water levels were low. I am planning a trip up in that area this weekend, so I can report back on conditions next week.

      salami rationing is a backcountry skill learned from many last day salami'less wraps of previous trips 😅 And thanks for the kind comments, I like to pack for single carry, it gives me the option for single carry when the portage is easy or do a double when it gets more technical. My boat is also quite small so can't hold a second backpack anyway... You know the saying, when you get a bigger boat or bag, "you find ways to fill it" 😂
