How do you feel about Apps on these things ? when you're offgrid and want to use power , do you want that power straight away or spend hours on your phone trying to update software / firmware ?

handy liitle gadgets if you only need dc sockets , just take a 12 or 24v battery with you and you have an instant DC socket hub for all your camping stuff

2 1/2 year old X1000 still going strong . Not so much a review , more of a look what this little cracker does on a daily basis , it feeds me , it keeps me warm , it powers my entertainment when there are no wall sockets around . MOST importantly it keeps my beer cold ! Facebook group: Montek Solar Club groups/1115110229013372/?ref=share_group_link

    Can you charge the battery using this as a passthrough? For example, using one of the Anderson connectors as input from a charger (ac or solar) and the other Anderson connector going to a battery?

    I just picked up the EB240 with 2 of the SP120 panels for $524.00 with a 50% discount coupon on Amazon today. If you deduct the cost of the panels that are on sale for $140 each. So the Bluetti EB240 was $240.

    Any word on release date? I see launch has been delayed several times. They must be close if you have one to review. I signed up on the indigo campaign. Thanks

      @off-grid-solutions thanks. I reached out to Montek after. Won't ship until may 2024. Email was signed Monte. They responded within minutes. With everything I've seen (including reviews w/pics- poor quality build issues) I think I'm gonna choose a different manufacturer.

      Shipping in May after a November launch is actually very fast on crowdfunding. Some companies have taken two years . Not sure what you have seen quality wise but this is Monteks Second only product . The original unit , the X1000 had only a 4% fail rate which is outstanding in this field and the new range aims to halve that . Montek is well known as the most rugged unit out there and I can bear witness that the components inside are the highest quality available . Good luck in your search 🙂👍

      @off-grid-solutions I mentioned shipping may 2024 not as a negative, but you didn't mention it. A tech took the x1000 apart and photographed a few concerning quality issues. I've got nothing against crowdfunding for small start ups. Concerning is that they didn't make enough capital from first product and attract investors for new one. Launch being delayed several times gives me pause. The email signed Monte is weird. I'm just making an informed decision and doing my due diligence. Not many reviews on the x1000 that are independent from free item. That's another concerning issue. Thanks for your replies.

      @@BayonetBob nonsense on quality issues .I have a prototype X1000 from the earliest days of the company that still runs perfectly today . I have handled only 3 returns in the whole of theUK for X1000 in two and a half years , Monte the owner of Montek who signed the email with his name by the way is passionate about building the best product he can , always has been 🙂. For a tiny company he has made the most awesome powerpacks . The new range is phenomenal. No he's not as big as Bluetti and Ecoflaw and Jackery . But then again Saab was nowhere near as big as Ford or GM but they made an awesome product . As regards delays in launch . Because he is such a perfectionist he wants to get it right before it goes out . Have you seen what happened at Zendure ? Constant failings and firmware updates because they launched part finished . Same thing happened with the Bluetti eb3a . The big boys are not always the best 🙂

    Can't wait. I currently have a Pecron E2000LFP, and am planning on picking up the B2000, and probably a Pecron E1500LFP. Whichever one I like the best, I'll get an expansion battery for. I suspect the B2000 will win. Goal is to he able to power a super efficient Midea 8K BTU window AC in my bedroom window, or the fan on my forced hot air furnace, overnight (or most of overnight) in the event of a power outage. For solar backup, I plan on getting a small propane generator. Just want to be able to have a baseline level of comfort in the event of a multi day power outage.

    Fantastic, John! Can you post the specs in the description or add captions as you describe them? I look forward to more videos demonstrating usage. I am completely sold on the latest Monteks and can't wait to pledge for mine.

    I agree with you 100%, John! I don't want any app on my power supply. I want to turn it on when I want power and turn it off when I don't. Apps are just an unnecessary complication and maddening point of failure. The times when we need it the most are the times when the apps are least likely to work!

  • @mike.briney
    @mike.briney ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for sharing this John & I couldnt agree more! I've been trying to talk Bluetti into releasing an "updated" EB150-EB240 unit with pretty much the same exact initial product, but just to feature some minor "modern" tweeks.. such as lifepo4 cell chemistry, 2x 100w usbc (instead of the single 45w), couple 5521 dc barrel plugs and also increase the DC circuitry to having all the outputs be capable of a full 10a. The bells and whistles are cute to have.. but you're absolutely right.. this tech and additional app features have been the source of ALOT of the issues you see on a day-to-day basis. And i'm sure it will only get better with time, I mean look how far the market has come in just 2-3 years!! haha but theres something beautiful about simplicity and being RELIABLE is the most important thing I need out of a product.

    Nice little DC "power hubs"!! Thanks for sharing this John and looking forward to your follow-up. Definitely agree with you tho, a in-line shunt and/or lifepo4 battery will probably make the world of a difference

    Great idea to daisy chain and run one each to two tents or whatever. Love the mounted bracket. Perfect spot for it. Agree on the display. Wish it had higher output on the usb-c.
