@@felipesalgado6886 As I recall, the “PRO” has genuine Gibson pickups and electronics. A Paul is a Paul. I’ve played a wide variety of Les Pauls from the least expensive Epiphone all the way up to a $280,000 ‘59 Les Paul (at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville years ago). They all pretty much sound the same. My personal Les Paul is ‘91 Gibson Les Paul Standard that I bought with a broken neck, and repaired myself. One thing I’ve learned over the years is a big price tag doesn’t make you a better player, and buying used will save you hundreds of dollars.

@@TropicalLatitude It sounded great with a NS Design NXT4a. It really made it sound like a real upright. I’m sure a real upright would sound even better.

With "push button" switches, I usually try cleaning by spraying with Deoxit D5 before resorting to switch replacement. Disconnect from power before spraying, and push the switch in and out several times after spraying. Be sure to let it dry completely before reconnecting power. Before electric amplification, resonators provided more volume. The resonator cone is basically an aluminum speaker. A bell brass resonator is very loud compared to a regular acoustic guitar.

That’s a little extreme for something you could easily build yourself. All the parts, schematics, and layout diagrams are readily available online. There is no secret alchemy to building a Fender amp. The circuits are relatively simple.

These units do not "eject" the tape. You manually lift the tape up and take it out. Is the tape stuck?

@danielweitzenfeld7758 - Deoxit F5 for the faders, and you wouldn't have to disassemble anything. Just spray a little with the tube in the slot, and then move the fader back and forth. I recommend using Deoxit Fader Lubricant after the F5 dries. I wouldn't worry about the knobs unless yours are making noise. You really can't get to the knobs until about the 21:00 minute mark in my video. As you can see, it's not difficult, it's just a time consuming process. I always recommend taking lots of pictures and video while doing a diassebly. Then you can go back and watch if you forget where a cable or connector goes.

If you do a Google search for the EP-3 service manual, the full instructions for aligning the heads are in the service manual.

@jonathanlok643 if you don’t have a tone generator and a scope, you basically would have to adjust by ear. You basically move it up or down to get the strongest signal for recording and playback. A tone generator and a scope allows you to see the best location of the head. I hope that makes sense.

@@RyansCustomShopandGearOutlet I have an o-scope and signal generator and I’ve read the instructions in the manual. I feel comfortable with adjusting azimuth but scared to bend the bracket to adjust head height. My EP-3 doesn’t fully erase (just a hint of repeats after the tape loops through) that can be heard if I stop playing. Trying to figure out why

@@RyansCustomShopandGearOutlet I believe so. The resistance of the erase head is 27ohms. 125Vpp (a little low vs 136V on the schematic) to erase head and 45Vpp to the record head

@@HSTRTGMS I do not have the guitar anymore. The veneer was easy. It cost like $10 for the sheet and maybe $5 for the binding glue. I had sand paper to level out the headstock. I just hand scrapped it when the glue was dry, and drilled the holes for the tuners. I would never pay a tech to work on my guitars. There are so many resources on TH-cam for how to videos. The only time I’ve paid someone was to refret a 1992 Les Paul. I haven’t ventured in to refret work yet, and I sure wasn’t going to use 1992 Les Paul as my first experiment.

I’ve never played a Takamine GC5/GC6.

Years ago, you could search the internet and download an update app with all the factory presets. You could then connect to your computer via midi, and restore. I’m sure it’s still out there somewhere. I used to have the actual factory cassette and cable that I connected to a tape player to restore.

@Davidlovesmusic311 - I forgot to retune before I made this video. This was years ago when I was new to posting videos. I have since learned not to post any demos because there are too many wonderful video demos of amps with dropped tuning, cranked gain, and multiple effects pedals in the chain that people can really hear the perfect pitch tuning and the true tone of the amps.
