Today I decided to film how I typically inspect a beehive. I did not get in the details of brood patterns, diseases, food reserves. Just everyday basic inspection techniques that most bee keepers use.

This is a basic instructional video on how to make a nuc when you don’t have an extra queen. One of the most common question from beginning bee keepers is what to do if my beehive gets crowed. Performing a split/creating a nuc is the best way to manage the size of your hive and to prevent swarms.

Met up with freinds with a 4Runner on tracks and ATV on tracks. The plan was to go to Olallie lake but made it only to Olallie Meadow because of the crazy amount of snow.

December 30th-31st, took the Jeep XJ for run in some fresh snow. We spent the night in a public use cabin. Next day continued to Olallie Lake.
