Why Our Pallets Are Better! Double Cut, Not Double Bladed Bandsaw Sawmill Action!
Out here slabs are sold to charcoal Mills to make charcoal out of them
North Korea has a better use for it. They mix it with their food.
It's called sideproduct, not waste. Because nothing gets wasted.
No mills around but farms around here use sawdust from a furniture factory as beding. I bet thats way finer then whats coming off the mill. Its propbibly a moisture issue. Beding has to be dry thats the point of it.
I like when they crush it into wood pellets. Bbqing is so easy with pellets. Or you can have a pellet stove for heat.
Very helpful 👌 Thank you 😊
We used it for bedding along with straw summer we would clean out the barn all that shit straw put that back on the land
Chip it and sell it to power plants, that is what I did. Just part of the process, no additional handling.
Sawdust is amazing bedding for cattle , use it on my farm
We use sawdust for a chicken farm
Sawdust is an excellent mushroom growth medium.
You forget they also make pellets for burning in fireplaces
Sawdust sops up nitrogen as it breaks down, not good.
I meed to get some sawdust and slabwood from my local mill. The sawdust is great for breaking up sandy soil and getting it to absorb and retain water. The slabwood is for making cheap fences and other enclosures too.
Why not power the sawmill by burning all the waste? Some kind of wood boiler / generator. Might not make all the electricity but it could cut it down a bit.
Sawdust mixed with shavings Is the best combination usually
It also goes to landscape suppliers and food companies, ( its used as a fibre additive)
Film, toilet paper 🧻 , bread 🍞 😅
buy a pellet machine and make sawdust pellets for heating
This has got to be Oregon
Wow, thanks blue collar stavros halkias!
If I had a dollar for every Stavros and Matty Matheson reference…
Danny DVito, is that you?
Can't you use a pellet mill?
This must be small sawmills, in big sawmills the sawdust is burned in a kiln Firebox to dry the lumber out faster.
mdf?
I wouldn't put the slabwood into a house but it is good enough for a chicken coup or a rough shed or something.
Saw mill near me uses all their scrap to heat the buildings. Turns 3+ barns of scrap a day into 1 commercial sized dumpster of ash a week
The local lumber yard where I live makes camping logs out of the saw dust and glue and the bark wood is made into lump charcoal for grilling
Stavros Lumberjack
It used to go to paper mills.
Neither were byproducts in the days of steam powered mills.
Dont forget end cuts
Dust and slabs are sold to become the charcoal that you BBQ with. Green or dry. Buy only the lump charcoal for cooking food, never briquettes
We just chip the slab wood at the mill I work at.
I’d politely argue that there is no waste here. Everything is being used.
Can you please pour some chocolate syrup on yourself next time you roll down the sawdust pile…thank you
shhhhh.... dont give away my secret on where i get my firewood. 😅
I remember when we couldn't give the sawdust or slabs away. We then started to charge 15$ for the slab bundles and 5$ a pickup load for the saw dust. It was when we started charging that we didn't have a problem any longer.
Sounds like a good way to consume nitrogen in feilds.
How sound slike lorax, fitting considering youre speaking for the trees
During the depression people used to put saw dust in the bread
Used to? Check your bread's ingredients for cellulose.
Take your sawdust and compress it in to blocks and sell it for fire wood
hey , make MDF with that !
Make wood pellets for pellet stoves
I bet you they put some of it in factory cattle feed. After all, they're totally fine with feeding chicken shit to cows and pigs
Pellets ?
Back when the Model was being made and the wheel spokes were made of wood, they would use the sawdust to make charcoal, and that's how Kingsford charcoal got started.
I use the slabs as siding on sheds, but I'm not in a production size anything. It's me and my chainsaw mill 😊 Sawdust is used as traction on my roads and driveway in the winter, any other waste wood becomes firewood/kindling.
Fun fact. If you get that sprinkle on pree grated Parmesan cheese. Is 26% cellulose by weight. Guess where we get cellulose from 😊
And here I thought that IKEA bought all the sawdust.
