Baltimore Light RailLink: BWI Airport, Linthicum (1080p60)
During a long layover at BWI, I got to leave the airport for a very brief taste of Baltimore's light rail. The trains and stations were clean. I must say, however, that frequencies of 30 minutes or more to the airport are pretty disappointing. The train also has (which you will hear in the video) an absolutely earsplitting horn for passengers seated close to the driver.

Houston METRO: Red Line at Hermann Park/Rice U, Ensemble/HCC, Downtown Transit Center (1080p60)
มุมมอง 521ปีที่แล้ว
I spent one day in Houston, capturing footage of the Red Line at Rice University where I had appointments, as well as at Ensemble/HCC and Downtown Transit Center. There is also bonus footage of Hermann Park. Overall, though Houston is known to be a car-centric place, I found Houston's METRO to be a clean, useful, and well-run service and I also made good use of a connecting airport express bus.
Philadelphia SEPTA: Market-Frankford, Broad Street, and 10 Trolley (1080p60)
มุมมอง 4Kปีที่แล้ว
I spent one day in Philadelphia, capturing footage of the Market-Frankford line, Broad Street Line, and the 10 Trolley line. I found the SEPTA system in general to be a bit dirty and run-down, especially compared to the very similar system in Boston, where I’ve spent much more time. Nevertheless, the system has good bones and I enjoyed my time exploring it. Filmed on Feb. 11, 2023, on iPhone 11.
Salt Lake City TRAX: Downtown Area (1080p60)
มุมมอง 4Kปีที่แล้ว
I spent one day in Salt Lake City on July 29, 2021, and had the opportunity to capture some footage of UTA's TRAX light rail system. The system is (like the rest of SLC) immaculately clean and well-run. It's mostly convenient, although SLC's crazy-wide streets make navigating on foot a challenge at times. Footage captured on iPhone 11.
Le Métro de Paris (Paris Metro) (1080p60)
มุมมอง 8834 ปีที่แล้ว
A collection of video clips of the Paris Metro. In around a week and a half the Paris Metro surpassed my expectations to become my all time favorite public transit system. It is convenient, inexpensive, painless, and quintessentially Parisian. Footage captures June 2019, iPhone 7, 1080p60.
London Docklands Light Railway: Canary Wharf & Bank
มุมมอง 1.6K5 ปีที่แล้ว
One of my top destinations during my short time in London was the Docklands Light Railway. Built as a compromise between Tube service and light rail, this quirky little system serves some of the fastest-growing areas of London. The film begins at Canary Wharf, showcasing the surroundings before ascending to the many DLR platforms at this hub-like station. Later on, footage is captured at Bank s...

Boston T: All Lines at Park St., State St., Downtown Crossing (1080p60)
มุมมอง 25K6 ปีที่แล้ว
In my short time in Boston I fell in love with the Boston T. The look and feel of the system is unique and consistant in its own way, and I would argue the graphic design is just as distinctive as the New York City subway. This film begins at Park St. There, the Green Line uses 4 tracks for the four branches of the line, creating the very unique and jarring experience of walking across subway t...
Boston T: Ashmont-Mattapan High Speed Line (1080p60)
มุมมอง 5936 ปีที่แล้ว
I have wanted to visit the Ashmont-Mattapan High Speed Line ever since I found out about it. It is the only non-heritage transit line to still use historic PCC streetcars, although they have been modified with air conditioning. The MBTA currently plans to invest millions in upgrading the vehicles so that they may serve for at least another 7-8 years. Footage captured 6/12/18, iPhone 7, 1080p60.
Washington, D.C. Metro: Many Lines at Metro Center, Smithsonian, U. Station (1080p60)
มุมมอง 5K6 ปีที่แล้ว
The Washington, D.C. Metro is one of the most unique and distinctive subway systems on the planet. Its prominent brutalist architecture unites the entire system and provides a common design theme. It is my personal favorite subway system to watch and film. Footage captured 6/9/18, iPhone 7, 1080p60.

The new D.C. streetcar between 5th & H and Union Depot stations. Some criticize the system for being an expensive boondoggle, while others believe it will expand into something great. Footage captured 6/9/18, iPhone 7, 1080p60.

Can TRAX be considered street running or no?

    • @worldofjck
      @worldofjck ปีที่แล้ว

It is “street-running” in the sense that it runs (mostly) on the street, but in dedicated lanes in the center of the street, never in mixed traffic with cars. :-) Thanks for watching!

The transit police do occasional fare checks, but, like others have said, you can get by without paying. A round trip ticket costs like $4.50 though, so why not support a good cause🤷🏻‍♂️
