I know how this works my dad who worked in an airport had a video of this first the luggage goes through an machine that scans it that machine scans for where the luggage is going then that information goes to the “punching “machine and the luggage gets punched to an place for example if your luggage is going to Canada then the machine will punch it to an line of bags that goes to Canada now in this day there are other machines that do the same but more friendly so that the luggage doesn’t break but there are people that throw your luggage really hard and if your luggage is hard plastic it will break mine broke because an employee grabbed my luggage and smashed it now it has an huge hole in it so be careful apparently you can tell the airline that your luggage broke and they are going to pay for it idk if that’s all the airlines

I worked for Associated Cleaning in this Airport in the 80's & 90's . I am surprised they tore it down and did not use it for office space !

We called those pushers “kickers” in my day. There were also tilt trays, in-line diverters and probably many other technologies, each had their own +/-‘s.

USAir not only ruined this airport but had it torn down in favor of a larger one, now it has to be downsized because it's too big after USAir abandoned it. I used to live across the parkway on Rouser Road. My mom worked the coffee shop and this place was our playground. The natural sound would've been better than the asinine stuff you put over this - THUMBS DOWN

I remember coming to this airport frequently when I was a kid, I used to spend summers with my grandparents in greensburgh. However, the part I remember most about this place was at the 2:39 mark of the film, how in some gates you had to walk down to get to the floor of the concourse. I always found it weird. I wish I could find floorplans to the old place.

Wow, Look how people dressed to fly. There are no people dressed in sweats ready to fly.I mean, I even saw a woman wearing a fur coat. People actually dressed up. I flew out of this airport this year to Florida on Eastern airlines.

it missed one of the cases. or was it 'selecting' cases based on reading the bar-code? but if so, how could it read the bar-code on every case if its not the correct way up? or was the 'missed' case destined to be 'lost luggage' ?
